Chapter 140 Negotiation
Late at night, in the coffee room of a hotel in Stardust City.
Grayson sat, fiddling with his coffee cup, patiently waiting.
After more than half an hour, the second son of the Young family, Dylan, dressed in black, pushed the door open and walked in.
"Dylan." Grayson immediately stood up, smiling and welcoming him.
Dylan took off his leather gloves, shook hands with Grayson expressionlessly, and said, "A lot of people came to the house, and I couldn't get away earlier."
Grayson looked at Dylan and sighed, "My condolences, Dylan."
"Have a seat." Dylan took off his coat, not mentioning Tyler's funeral.
Grayson bent down to sit opposite Dylan and reached out to pour him some coffee. "Would you like some snacks?"
"No, I have to have dinner with the elders tonight." Dylan quietly looked at Grayson, not initiating the conversation.
Grayson pushed the coffee forward, pondered for a moment, and asked, "Dylan, since you have other things to do later, let's get straight to the point. I want to know The VitaPharm Company's attitude towards cooperating with me."
Dylan picked up the coffeecup, looked directly at Grayson, and said, "The Patrick Group performed poorly in this matter, but we have invested a lot of energy and money in supporting it before. Plus, with Terry and Tyler both dead, in future business conflicts, aside from interests, we share the same stance on revenge. To put it bluntly, William taking over the company will definitely continue to deal with the opposition without our urging. But you don't have that mindset."
Grayson remained silent.
"To be blunt, you're just in it for the money and profit, right?"
Grayson smiled, folded his arms, and looked at Dylan, replying, "Before I came, I heard some definite news."
Dylan folded his arms and looked at him without responding.
"After Chris went to the other side, he revealed all the details of the fake drug case to the Black Street District police chief," Grayson said calmly, "Samuel had several of the specific henchmen arrested, and now they are completely under the control of the other side and have confessed the details. By the time I arrived in Stardust City, the case had already been thoroughly investigated and couldn't be overturned."
Dylan frowned upon hearing this.
Grayson looked at him and continued softly, "As long as the Black Street District police chief publicly discloses the case details, the Patrick Group is doomed. To compete for the market, they maliciously sold fake drugs to frame their competitors, resulting in the deaths of two seriously ill patients. This is extremely heinous."
Dylan pondered, still not responding.
"Scary? No, this isn't the scariest part." Grayson smiled, tapping the table with his fingers. "The scariest part is, if I were on the other side, I would direct public opinion towards Stardust City. Because the key person, Todd, indeed died here, and Benjamin and the Black Street District officers encountered great resistance while pursuing him here, causing a commotion and almost losing their lives. So, the other side doesn't need to make everything airtight; just leaking some real information will definitely implicate The VitaPharm Company. You are the supplier, and your headquarters are in Stardust City. Even if you did nothing wrong, people will speculate."
"Do you think The VitaPharm Company can't handle this PR?" Dylan asked.
Grayson pondered for a moment and then asked, "Do you think a small police chief would get involved in this matter if he didn't want to quit or die?"
Dylan expressionlessly picked up the coffeecup again.
"Samuel has someone backing him, that's for sure," Grayson added softly, "If The VitaPharm Company can handle this PR, that would be best. But if you can't, then you are colluding with a local company, inflating drug prices, and recklessly endangering lives for malicious competition."
Dylan waved his hand. "Go on."
"If you cooperate with me, there won't be so many problems," Grayson said confidently, "I have shares and people in the Patrick Group, and Terry's cold treatment towards Chris in this matter has left many people dissatisfied. Plus, William is too inexperienced and has limited control, so as long as I call out, I can pull away the core members of the Patrick Group. In less than a month, the drug line in Pine City can return to normal. As for the other side's retaliation, it will only hit the Patrick Group and not affect me at all. On the contrary, I can publicly state that I am disappointed in the company over the fake drug issue, so I decided to withdraw my shares."
Dylan squinted at Grayson and smiled. "Mr. Hart, you are indeed more decisive than emotional. By doing this, you are giving the Patrick Group a fatal blow."
"With Terry around, besides the deserved benefits, we had some emotional ties. But now that he's gone, why should I serve William?" Grayson said bluntly, "I'm not young anymore; I need to find a good way out for myself and my people. Moreover, even if the Patrick Group falls, the money Terry left is enough for his family to live well, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong."
"If The VitaPharm Company cooperates with you, will the other side stop directing the topic towards Stardust City?" Dylan asked pointedly.
Grayson pondered for a moment and replied, "My suggestion is, for now, don't hit the other side too hard because of Tyler's matter. As long as Mr. Young is willing to help a little, I'll handle the rest."
Dylan remained silent.
"Also, although I have no deep hatred with the other side, this is only as long as they don't affect my interests," Grayson said with a grim face, "But if they continue to grab the market and encroach on my living space, then I will have to settle the score with them."
Dylan played with the coffeecup, thought for a long time, and then replied, "Stay in Stardust City for a day. I'll find time to talk to my dad tonight."
Half an hour later.
Grayson quickly left the hotel and got into the car.
"How did it go?" Grayson's brother-in-law, who came with him, asked urgently from the passenger seat.
"As expected." Grayson took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. "it went smoothly."
"Then it's a success!" The brother-in-law was very happy. "Grayson, let's find a place to celebrate! I heard there are many fun places in Stardust City, let's go have some fun!"
Grayson looked at his brother-in-law strangely, a bit confused.
The brother-in-law smiled and said, "Don't worry. I won't tell my sister."
Grayson took a puff of his cigarette. "Let's go back to where we're staying."
The middle-aged man in the back seat on the left side smiled and asked, "Are you still worried?"
Grayson nodded. "Yes, let's go back and find some connections in The VitaPharm Company and have them contact Christopher more."
"Okay." The middle-aged man nodded.
As soon as he finished speaking, the car turned towards their residence. At the intersection behind them, someone sat in a car, holding a phone, and said, "Yes, they finished their meeting and left."
The person on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment, then hoarsely ordered, "Then take action."
The sound of cocking guns echoed inside the car.
