Chapter 107 Who is the Bait, Who is the Hook?

Everyone turned to the behind and immediately spotted Todd walking out of the alley.

"It's over. He knew," Carl said from inside the car, immediately turning to Robert. "Todd wants to leave."

In the alley, Todd was wearing a thick coat, with a crossbody bag slung over his shoulder, hands in his pockets, and his eyes constantly scanning the parked cars around him as he walked quickly.

"What do we do?" Matt also looked at Robert and asked, "Do we stop him?"

Robert slowly drew his gun, his eyes showing hesitation as he thought about what Alexander had said.

"We had seen him. Just grab him already. What's there to hesitate about?" Carl said, eyes wide. "Forget it. I'll go get him."

"Don't move yet." Matt immediately reached out and pulled Carl back. "Don't rush. We can follow him in the car first."

As they were talking, Todd had already left the alley with his hands in his pockets and was walking quickly towards the left side of the street.

On the cold, deserted street, Todd walked about 300 feet before suddenly stopping at the roadside, looking around as if searching for a cab.

Robert, clutching his gun, suddenly shouted, "Start the car. He's trying to hail a cab."

"What are you thinking?" Carl asked, frowning as he started the car.

"Just follow him," Robert ordered, frowning, "Matt, call Alexander and Benjamin, and tell them we need to change locations."

"Got it." Matt nodded and took out his phone.

In the driver's seat, Carl had just started the car and was about to shift into reverse when Todd suddenly started walking straight towards the alley on the opposite side of the street.

Everyone was stunned.

"I told you. We've all seen him. No need to follow. Just grab him," Carl said impatiently. "Look, he's heading towards the alley. Can we even drive in there? Todd is cunning, and the road is so narrow. If you follow him in the car, he'll definitely notice!"

"Shut up," Robert shouted at Carl, eyes wide.

Carl was startled and didn't dare say anything more.

Robert watched the roadside, seeing Todd about to enter the alley, and suddenly shouted, "Drive over and grab him."

"That's right."

Carl quickly shifted gears, first reversing the car rapidly to the roadside, then shifting again and flooring the gas pedal.

The car engine roared like an arrow leaving the bow, rushing towards the alley entrance.

Todd turned his head at the sound, his eyes blinded by the car's headlights. He raised his arm to shield his eyes and started running without hesitation.

The car screeched to a halt, sliding about 10 feet on the icy road before coming to a stop.

Robert pushed open the car door, gun in hand, and jumped out.

"Carl, watch Randy," Matt called out, leading another companion as they also jumped out of the car.

All three had guns, and within two seconds, they had rushed into the alley. Looking up, they saw Todd running desperately ahead, about 50 feet away.

Matt cocked his gun and pulled the trigger.

The gunshot shattered the night's silence, bullets sparking off the walls.

"Run. Keep running. Let's see if you're faster than a bullet," Matt shouted, raising his arm.

In the damp and dim alley, Todd slowly stopped, standing with his back to them.

"Hands up," Matt shouted.

Todd turned around, his face pale, and snarled at them. "If I can't live, then none of you will either."

Hearing this, Robert instinctively stopped, looking at Todd with a strange expression. "Something's off with him."

Just then, the sound of engines roared from the street, and four SUVs burst out from the intersections on both sides.

Meanwhile, four figures with guns rushed out from the opposite side of the alley behind Todd.

"It's over. The other party got here first."

Sweat appeared on Robert's forehead. After hesitating for two seconds, he immediately rushed forward. "We can't retreat. Grab Todd first."

On the street.

Carl reacted quickly. Seeing the four cars approaching, he immediately turned the steering wheel, shifted into reverse, and floored the gas pedal.

The exhaust pipe spewed thick smoke as the rear wheels climbed onto the sidewalk, reversing hurriedly towards the alley.

With a screech of brakes, the four cars stopped by the roadside, and a dozen figures rushed out, led by Tyler.

"Don't move, stop the car."

"Stop."

The dozen thugs shouted as they charged forward.

Tyler took a long gun from his follower, cocked it, and shouted, "The Anderson family from Pine City, huh? Quite famous!"

With that, Tyler raised his arm and fired at the car.

The shotgun blast shattered the windshield, and Carl, unable to dodge, was hit by numerous steel balls and lead pellets on his left cheek and upper chest, blood spurting everywhere.

"Hey, Robert, come here on your knees, I'll give you a chance to call home to say goodbye," Tyler shouted into the alley, eyes red.

At the intersection.

Chris was in the car, talking to Terry on the phone when he suddenly heard gunshots. He asked in shock, "What's going on? Why are they shooting?"

Before he could finish, a brother who had come with Chris from Pine City opened the car door and said, "Chris, they're fighting over there."

"Fighting?" Chris turned and asked, "Did all their people show up?"

"No." the brother shook his head. "Only Robert and his guys showed up, and Tyler surrounded them."

"Benjamin and Alexander aren't there?" Chris asked again.

"No, I didn't see them."

"Damn it, is Tyler out of his mind?" Chris cursed, his face darkening. "Todd is the bait, already in our hands. Why is he rushing? Benjamin is the big fish, doesn't he get that?"

The brother responded, "Maybe he was afraid Robert would take Todd away."

"Let him take him, you have so many cars, just follow them," Chris shouted, "If Robert grabs him, he'll definitely go to Benjamin. Wait for them to meet, then you can catch them all."

"Who dares to stop Tyler when he wants to act?" the brother replied weakly.

"This guy is really brainless," Chris said angrily, then spoke into the phone. "Terry, I have to go. Robert is cornered, and I'll check it out! If the gunfire stops quickly, we might still use Todd to lure Benjamin."

"Go ahead." Terry nodded.
