Chapter 190 Intense Shootout at the West Side Gate

Jasper's voice crackled through the intercom. "Can you ID the person outside?"

"Yeah, it's Joe," the officer outside the community replied urgently. "I saw him. He's got a small braid and he's alone."

Jasper knew Joe's sudden gunfire was a ploy to draw police attention, but he had to play along. Joe was the main target of this operation.

"Teams 3 and 4, head towards the gunfire outside the community. We need to block this guy," Jasper shouted, sprinting towards the commotion with his gun.

As Joe split the police force, Rodolfo, Bishop, and the others dashed out with their guns, scattering left and right to further divide the cops.

In the alley outside the community, Joe fired with his right hand while dialing a number with his left.

"Hello?"

"I need backup, or I'm not getting out," Joe said bluntly.

There was a brief silence before the voice on the other end replied, "Someone's coming to support you."

"Got it."

Joe ended the call, pocketed the phone, and pulled out a second gun from his chest.

At the west gate of the community, Loren nervously wiped sweat from his forehead, looking at Alexander with a mix of fear and anxiety. "Alexander, shouldn't we go help?"

"Jasper told us to stay here. If we leave and a suspect escapes through this exit, Jasper could report us for desertion. You get that?" Alexander replied, frowning. "Stay put. We follow orders."

"Yeah, staying is best," Loren nodded.

Elbert, overhearing, spat in disdain. "With your guts, why are you even a cop? The gun hasn't even fired, and you're already shaking."

"Shut up. If you're so brave, why don't you go jump on a grenade?" Loren shot back and then turned to Alexander. "Alexander, do you think those criminals will come our way?"

Alexander was taken aback, and Elbert started cursing again. "It's typical of you..."

Before he could finish, footsteps echoed from the opposite direction.

Alexander was startled and immediately gestured. "Quiet."

The footsteps stopped at the corner of the building on the right. Alexander quickly signaled Loren and Elbert to hide.

At the corner, Rodolfo, who had just run over, changed his magazine, breathing heavily.

"Damn it!" Alexander slapped Loren on the head, then turned to Elbert. "From the sound of it, it's just one person."

"This is our chance," Elbert said, eyes fixed on the corner. "It's a major criminal. If we catch him, we'll have leverage, Alexander."

Behind the building, Rodolfo gripped his gun, then looked at the adjacent building. After a brief hesitation, he decisively walked over.

"He sensed something," Alexander whispered to the other two from behind a small door. "You two are inexperienced; we won't go over."

Inside the building, Rodolfo quickly went up to the second floor, glanced at Room 201, and after a brief hesitation, aimed his gun at the door lock.

Three gunshots rang out.

Alexander was startled and immediately stood up. "Damn, he's inside the building."

"What do you mean?" Elbert was confused.

"He's inside a resident's apartment," Alexander said and then ran towards the courtyard.

Rodolfo kicked open the door to Room 201, rushed in, and, after a quick scan, went to the master bedroom door, kicking it open.

Next to a cabinet, a burly man was wedged in the gap, trembling as he looked at Rodolfo. "B-bro, what do you want... Just say it... Don't shoot."

Rodolfo glanced at him, then hurried to the window. He stepped on an inflatable sex doll, momentarily stunned.

"Honey, honey... you're amazing," the doll said stiffly.

"Fuck!" Rodolfo was startled, his face pale as he moved aside.

The burly man, wedged in the cabinet, shyly turned his head away.

"What bad luck!" Rodolfo cursed, then quickly climbed onto the windowsill, opened the window, and jumped out.

As his feet hit the ground, Rodolfo barely had time to steady himself before turning and aiming his gun towards the west gate, pulling the trigger.

Sparks flew, and Alexander immediately ducked back.

Rodolfo got up quickly, retreating while shooting towards the west gate.

Alexander glanced at his position and immediately signaled, "Elbert, distract him."

Elbert didn't hesitate, sprinting out.

Seeing a figure rush out from the community, Rodolfo immediately turned his gun and fired.

At that moment, Alexander popped out and fired a single shot, hitting Rodolfo's right leg, causing him to fall to the ground.

"He's been shot," Elbert said, hiding behind a large trash can, ready to charge.

"Don't move," Alexander shouted, "Be careful he might still shoot."

Elbert immediately crouched back down.

Alexander squinted, aiming at Rodolfo's direction, and fired again.

The bullet hit the ground, sparking. Rodolfo, supporting himself with one hand, tried to stand while firing back.

Seconds later, the sound of an empty gun echoed. Alexander immediately shouted, "He's out of bullets. Go get him."

Elbert sprang up, wearing a bulletproof vest, and charged at Rodolfo.

Rodolfo, lying on the ground, looked at Elbert with despair, pulling out a knife and preparing to stab his own neck.

"Stop, and you can still live," Alexander shouted as he ran.

Rodolfo hesitated. "Fuck, I'm not going to jail to suffer."

"Damn it!"

Alexander quickened his pace.

The knife glinted in the night, and was about to pierce Rodolfo's neck.

At that moment, four men suddenly appeared from an alley less than sixty-five feet away.

Alexander, startled, immediately ducked behind a wall.

Gunfire erupted, debris flying from the wall.

Rodolfo opened his eyes, looking back to see four men wearing masks they favored for their jobs.

"Are you with Joe?" Rodolfo asked, panting.

"Stay down and don't move," the leader ordered, advancing with his gun.

Meanwhile, an SUV rushed out of the alley, stopping by the roadside. Two burly men got out, lifting Rodolfo. "Joe can escape. We need to go."

Rodolfo, being lifted, looked at the car with some confusion, "From inside or outside the community?"

"Inside," one of them replied quietly, pulling Rodolfo towards the car.

Rodolfo stiffened, his face pale. "Inside? Whose men?"

"Get in the car first, we'll talk later." the masked man on the left pushed Rodolfo.

"Fuck, you're not here to help us," Rodolfo's face changed, struggling to push them away.

"Get in."

The two men forced Rodolfo into the car.

By the roadside, Alexander, not hearing their conversation, shouted, "We can't catch them. Fall back to the community."

Elbert provided cover, Loren frantically ran back into the community, and Alexander fired a few shots at the roadside men before retreating to their previous hiding spot.

"Do these criminals have backup?" Elbert panted.

"We can't stop them with just the three of us," Alexander said, "You need to call it in on the intercom."

Before he could finish, footsteps echoed in the courtyard. A masked man with a submachine gun spoke into his earpiece, "Just three of them, take them out."
