Chapter 90 Is it Todd?

On the road.

Alexander was driving, his face expressionless, as he asked Andrew, "Were you with Robert last night?"

"Yeah!" Andrew responded, a bit taken aback.

"I've told you before》 Robert is in charge of the drug line now. Don't keep asking him out for drinks for no reason," Alexander said irritably, "Now look, something big has happened."

"Alexander, I didn't insist on him coming out. It was because Andy from the security team was there last night. I called him with the intention of introducing him to some connections," Andrew explained innocently, "And before I called, I specifically asked if he was busy. He said he was bored and came on his own."

Alexander sighed. "Robert is great in every way, except his love for partying. He goes crazy at the mention of a drinking session. I just can't understand it."

Half an hour later.

At Benjamin's place, Alexander and Andrew walked into the house and saw Robert sitting on the couch, head down, silent.

"Speak up. Say something!" Benjamin, hands on his hips, face red with anger, shouted, "We're in the middle of a shipment, and Matt has issues. Why weren't you at the warehouse keeping an eye on things?"

Robert rubbed his face and looked up, responding, "Andrew said he wanted to introduce me to someone, so I thought..."

Benjamin, shaking with rage, slapped him hard, causing Robert to fall sideways onto the couch.

"You always have an excuse," Benjamin yelled, eyes wide, pointing at him. "You play around all the time, even when there's work to be done. One day, you'll ruin everything for all of us."

Robert took a while to recover, turned his head, and spat out some bloody phlegm, still silent.

"When David contacted you, I told you to be careful because I know Terry's character too well. He's not the type to give up the market and let you make money," Benjamin continued, trembling with anger. "But you, regardless of the time or situation, if someone asks you to drink, you're happy to go. You're in your twenties, spending all your energy on women and drinking. If I suddenly die one day, how will you take over? How will you lead everyone? Forget Terry, you're not even as good as William's little finger."

Robert, a man of pride, listened to his uncle's scolding. Though he didn't dare talk back, his chest was burning with anger. He clenched his fists and cursed, "If I find out who's causing trouble, I'll smash them to pieces."

"See that?" Benjamin got even angrier at these words. He pointed at his nephew and said to Matt, "He still doesn't understand who's at fault. He's not even sober yet, still thinking about women!"

Robert was stunned.

"If I don't beat you to death, I'm letting down our fallen brothers," Benjamin said, taking off his belt and pointing to the floor. "Kneel down!"

"Can we talk about this later? Let's solve the problem first," Robert said, looking at Alexander and Andrew, his face red with embarrassment.

"I said kneel down!" Benjamin was completely furious, not caring about the situation anymore.

Robert clenched his fists, seeing Benjamin about to pass out from anger, and immediately knelt down.

Benjamin swung the belt, hitting Robert's head and body, while Robert didn't dodge, didn't argue.

Alexander hesitated for a moment, then rushed to stop him. "Benjamin, the problem has already arisen. Stop hitting him. Stop."

"Are you out of your mind? The warehouse keys are so important, and you just handed them to an outsider? What were you thinking?" Benjamin scolded while continuing to hit.

Robert's face was covered in blood, but hearing Benjamin's words, he immediately asked, "Was it Todd? Was it him?"

"Benjamin, if you keep hitting him, I'm leaving. We won't talk anymore," Alexander shouted, holding Benjamin. "Since something happened, we need to solve the problem. What's the point of arguing now?"

Benjamin, panting, put down the belt and pointed at Robert, shouting, "Useless, you're just useless! I'm not afraid of Terry; we just don't have a successor!"

Robert's veins bulged at these words, but he didn't talk back.

"Let's go to the other room, talk in the other room." Alexander signaled to Andrew and helped Benjamin into the inner room.

In the living room.

Matt walked over to help Robert up. "Come on, stand up."

Robert turned, eyes red, and asked, "Was it Todd?"

Matt sighed. "He was the only one with the keys yesterday. If it wasn't him, who else? And now that something's happened, we can't reach him."

Robert stood up, his face fierce, and said, "I caused this mess, I'll explain. If I can't clear it up, I'll kneel my way into Maple Street. If those buyers want to beat me to death, I won't fight back."

With that, Robert headed for the door.

"Come back," Matt called after him.

"I'm going to find Todd, don't worry about me," Robert shouted back as he walked down the hallway.

Inside.

Benjamin, too emotional, kept coughing after sitting down. Alexander, seeing his reaction, brought a glass of water to the table. "Drink some water first. Getting angry won't help now that it's happened."

"Useless, I can't teach him anything." Benjamin shook his head and sighed. "In our own house, we let someone switch the goods. I don't even know what to say."

"This is partly my fault. I called him out last night." Andrew took some of the blame. "And he just wanted to get to know the security team."

"Nonsense!" Benjamin scolded, "Don't you understand the importance of things? Doesn't Robert? He is just too bad, he loses his mind at the mention of drinking."

Andrew was speechless.

Alexander, after thinking for a while, changed the subject. "Benjamin, we need to think about how to minimize the impact."

Benjamin frowned, thought for a long time, and sighed. "Buyers only care about the goods, not the people. They supported me before because my drugs were fairly priced and effective. They remembered my good deeds. But now, the drugs have killed people, and they did come from us. How can I explain that? How can I make them believe? Moreover, the fake drugs are definitely not just the few boxes sold. If Terry wants to mess with me, he's aiming to destroy me. So I can guess that a large part of the drugs seized by the police are also fake."

"Can we pay the drug sellers to take the blame?" Andrew asked softly, "Say they switched the drugs privately to make some money. If the sellers take the blame, we can protect them inside, and it shouldn't be a big deal."

"If you were the buyer, would you believe that?" Benjamin asked back, "Even if they did, how do you explain the fake drugs in the police seizure?"

Andrew thought carefully and frowned. "Yeah, doing that might make things worse."

Outside the Maple Street Neon Club, David stood in the alley, smoking an e-cigarette, and said, "Find that kid and kill him."

"$300," a red-faced man responded quietly.

"I'll give you $500 to do it cleanly." David looked around. "Bring the body back, and I'll pay you."

"Okay," the red-faced man nodded and walked away.
