Chapter 69 Future Decided in a Few Words

Another day passed.

The money from the Anderson family changed hands twice and finally ended up in Coco's account, while Alexander and Eric began waiting for the other party to deliver the goods to Pine City. Both sides had already agreed that Coco's side would handle the first shipment.

Around ten in the morning.

Alexander dialed Samuel's number and said, "Hello? Director."

"Is everything settled?" Samuel asked calmly.

"Yes. The supplier's goods are already on the way and will arrive in Pine City in three to four days at the latest." Alexander nodded with a smile. "I've already informed John. Once the goods arrive, they will temporarily take over and hand them to the Anderson family."

"Isn't it a bit risky for John to take over such a large shipment?" Samuel asked worriedly.

"No. Nothing will go wrong. John is a member of Group Three and my guy," Alexander said firmly, "Last time when they tried to hurt me, it was him who saved me."

"If you have a plan in mind, I won't say more." Samuel nodded. "Get it done quickly and come back as soon as possible."

"Alright, I'll leave you to your work, Director."

"Call me Samuel from now on."

Alexander was stunned when he heard this.

Samuel had already hung up.

Holding his phone, Alexander thought for a long time, shook his head, and said with a smile. "With Andrew as such a silly nephew, my path won't be easy, too much worry."

"What?" Eric looked up and asked.

"Nothing. Samuel asked me to just call him by his name."

"Then ask him if I can call him by his name too?"

The two chatted and laughed together.

Samuel, dressed in a well-fitted casual trench coat, stepped out of his office and turned to his secretary, saying, "Notify the North Station that I need to go to Stardust City and arrange a carriage for me."

"Okay." The secretary nodded.

Around four in the afternoon, Samuel arrived at the capital of the special district, Stardust City, by light rail, and then took a car to a cadre compound in the city.

By the side of a vintage-style coffee table on the second floor, Samuel sipped strong coffee and said with a smile, "Teacher, I miss your coffee day and night while I'm in Pine City."

"I'll give you some when you go back." A man in his sixties, with his hands clasped, asked softly, "How's the situation on your side?"

"It's done." Samuel looked up at him and said plainly, "Teacher, the academic faction has been active in various departments these past few years, and some officials are consolidating their positions with local enterprises and forces. So we, the old faction who entered the government early, have to be cautious even when breathing."

"Power shifts and changes in influence, isn't that what politics is all about?" The teacher responded calmly, "In times of peace and prosperity, things are unpredictable, let alone in such turbulent times now. Ups and downs are normal."

"But ups and downs also relate to people's thoughts," Samuel said with a smile, "Regarding the pharmaceuticals, I'm not seeking profit but space and balance."

"Understood." The teacher nodded. "You go ahead and do it. If necessary, I'll speak up for you. Come to Stardust City more often when you have time. I'm old, and there will come a day when I'm not valued. If you want to achieve something, you need to grow up quickly."

"Thank you, Teacher," Samuel replied gratefully.

"There are many people you need to satisfy in the pharmaceutical business," The teacher reminded him again, "Money matters have always been tricky. I'll pave the way for you, but you need to have a plan for who to be close to, who to give more to, and who to give less to."

"Understood."

"Alright, have some coffee." The teacher stopped the conversation.

Around seven in the evening, it was completely dark.

Alexander, eating a dry bun, frowned and asked Eric, "Are you feeling any better?"

"A bit." Eric was still running a low fever, his lips chapped, his face pale, and he kept coughing.

"Damn, the new medicine isn't working much either." Alexander put down the bun and said with a frown, "I'll go find the boss to get a doctor. I'll handle it myself."

"No need." Eric waved his hand. "Tim has been held for a few days, and we don't know the situation in River State. It might be dangerous for you to go."

"If I don't go, you might burn up." Alexander put down the bun. "Don't worry. I have a plan."

"Really, no need." Eric, afraid something would happen to Alexander, insisted again. "Just wait another three or four days. When the goods arrive in Pine City, we'll tell Coco the location. When they come to get Tim, they'll bring a doctor."

"We can't afford any delay." Alexander picked up his coat. "A high fever that won't go away can cause big problems. I shall opt to summon a physician."

"I said no. Listen to me."

The two started arguing about the doctor.

"Boss, what's going on here?"

Just then, the voice of the innkeeper came from outside.

Alexander turned around, about to head to the door, but suddenly saw seven or eight people walking towards them through the window.

"Who is it?" Eric asked from the bed.

Alexander frowned and pulled out his gun, thumb pushing the safety off.

"Open the door!"

A crisp woman's voice sounded outside.

Alexander was stunned and opened the door.

Outside, Coco, dressed in a black trench coat and knee-high boots, with long hair draped over her shoulders, looked very sexy and enchanting.

"Why are you here?" Alexander was very surprised.

"Just felt like coming," Coco replied mischievously and walked into the room.

Alexander watched Coco's back and frowned, asking, "How did you know we were here?"

"Just found out." Coco stood in the room with her hands behind her back, looking around.

Hearing this, Alexander felt uneasy and fearful.

If it wasn't Coco who found their place but someone from the Baker family in River State, then...

Coco turned around, smiling at Alexander. "Don't worry, the Baker family can't find this place. They aren't as powerful as us here."

Alexander looked at Coco in surprise, feeling that this woman could see right through his thoughts.

Eric, sitting on the bed, suddenly asked, "Where is my brother?"

"I came to River State full of enthusiasm, but before I could start, I was captured by a woman" Andrew walked in from outside, worriedly asking, "Are you feeling any better from your injury?"

Seeing Andrew, both Alexander and Eric felt relieved.

"It's nothing, just hurt my arm."

"I thought something happened to you." Andrew turned and shouted, "Doctor, come and check on my brother."

As he finished speaking, a middle-aged man walked in carrying a medical kit.

"You're here to take Tim?" Alexander asked Coco.

"Yes." Coco nodded.

Alexander was stunned and replied expressionlessly, "Isn't this against the rules? I told you, Tim can only be handed over once the goods arrive."

Coco smiled playfully. "The goods have already arrived in River State."

"Impossible, the money just reached you today?" Alexander didn't believe it.

Coco, with her hands behind her back, replied softly, "I had the goods sent to Pine City before the money even arrived."

Alexander was stunned, wondering how much thought this girl, who was about his age, had put into this?

"At nine o'clock, have someone pick up the goods." Coco extended her hand, her eyes forming crescent moons. "Here's to a successful cooperation."
