Chapter 99 All Parties Gather
About an hour later.
Chris, accompanied by four followers, hurriedly walked out of the station and saw Tyler from The VitaPharm Company.
"Hello, Tyler." Chris extended his hand politely.
Tyler, still seated in the car, gave a symbolic handshake and said, "Get in."
Chris smiled, waved his followers to the cars behind, and got into Tyler's car alone, saying courteously, "Mr. Young, thank you for your help."
"In Pine City, aren't you competing with a bunch of low-level thugs?" Tyler asked with some dissatisfaction, "Terry has been in the game for so long, but can't he even handle these people?"
Chris was momentarily stunned and immediately explained, "These people have some connections, too. The chief of police in the Black Street District is backing them now."
"What role can a small director play?" Tyler responded dismissively, "Didn't Terry say he has good friends in the higher-ups of the police department and city government? Why not use them now?"
Chris naturally wouldn't argue with this arrogant young master, nor did he want to explain the complexities of business struggles, so he could only smile and say, "We did make some mistakes at the beginning. We were careless."
Hearing this, Tyler frowned and commented, "The company hired Terry for peace of mind, but it seems you guys are not providing that."
"Yes, we'll do our best to handle things better in the future." Chris nodded in agreement.
Tyler pondered for a moment, then took out his phone and asked, "What's the name of the person working at Glimmeridge?"
Chris blinked and immediately smiled. "Let's not look for him first."
Tyler was taken aback. "What do you mean? Didn't you come to find this person?"
"Well, here is the deal. I thought about it in the car just now. Since Todd is the key, if we rush to find him, the other side will be anxious, too. So I had someone look into it just now..." Chris organized his words and softly gave Tyler a plan.
In the light music bar of Alias Club.
Alexander, being stingy, ordered a glass of lemonade for both Andrew and Matthew and kept checking his watch.
"Don't worry. There's no news from Robert either," Andrew advised softly, "There's no use rushing, let's be patient."
Just as he finished speaking, a graceful figure walked in from the main entrance, waving at the three with a smile. "Hi, friends."
"Finally, you're here." Andrew smiled, adjusting his pants as he greeted her, "Sit over here."
Emily placed her bag on the table and sat across from Alexander, teasing, "Three men in a bar just drank lemonade. Get some strong drinks."
"I'm so worried that if things don't go well in Stardust City, forget lemonade, I might have to drink rat poison," Alexander replied, quite agitated.
"Isn't it your friend's problem? Why would you drink rat poison?" Emily asked curiously.
"Here's the thing..." Andrew, sitting beside her, softly explained the situation to Emily but selectively avoided many details, such as their relationship with the Anderson family and the upper-level conflicts.
Emily, a girl with a strong sense of justice, frowned upon hearing Andrew's words. "How can the Patrick family be so vicious? They sold overpriced drugs before, and I exposed them, even got my camera smashed. Now, to grab the market, they poisoned two innocent people. It's despicable."
The three fell silent.
Emily gritted her teeth and turned to Alexander. "I can help with this, but I've never been to Glimmeridge. Wait a bit. My brother is upstairs handling some business. I'll ask him to help you guys out; he has many friends around here."
"Your brother?" Alexander asked curiously.
"Cousin," Emily replied with a smile.
"Alright, let's wait then." Andrew nodded and asked, "What would you like to drink?"
"Since I have nothing going on today, I can have a drink with you guys," Emily said, taking off her coat, "Let's have some cocktails."
Alexander rolled his eyes. "Just have some lemonade. The drinks are expensive."
"Is this your attitude when asking someone to do something for you? What's wrong with me having a drink?" Emily glared at him, dissatisfied.
"He's too stingy. I'll treat you," Andrew said flatteringly, "Order whatever you want. Even if you want God's spit, I'll pay for it."
"You're disgusting," Emily replied, exasperated.
So, they chatted while waiting for Emily's cousin to come downstairs.
About an hour later, as the bar started to empty out, Alexander's phone suddenly rang.
"Hello? Benjamin."
"I'm at the entrance of Alias Club," Benjamin's voice came through.
Alexander was taken aback and immediately stood up. "Alright, come to the main entrance, I'll meet you."
"Okay."
With that, they ended the call, and Alexander turned to Emily. "You guys chat, I'll go meet an elder."
Upstairs.
A very handsome young man wearing a wool coat sat on the sofa, looking down at a thick stack of documents.
The bright light illuminated the young man's face, clearly reflecting his features and stature. He was about 6 feet tall, with good skin and very refined facial features. If you looked closely, you would feel he resembled Emily in some way, though it was hard to pinpoint exactly how.
"Take a look at this direction. If it's feasible, I'll draft a new contract when I return to District 7," the middle-aged man across the sofa asked with a smile.
"No rush. I'll review the documents first," the young man replied with a smile, "I will reply to you tomorrow."
"You and your father have very different styles," the middle-aged man said, putting down his wine glass, "You are so steady at such a young age, you have a bright future ahead!"
"I can't afford to make mistakes on this." the young man scratched his head and immediately stood up to pour the man a drink. "Let me toast you."
In the main hall of Alias Club, Alexander had already met up with Benjamin and was walking towards the small bar.
On the street.
Tyler, holding his phone, said firmly, "You guys come over. Yes, the address I just gave you. Alright, that's it."
Seeing Tyler hang up, Chris immediately frowned and advised, "Mr. Young, you misunderstood me. We don't have to handle this ourselves. If you use your official connections, it could save a lot of trouble and even..."
Tyler, halfway through listening, impatiently waved his hand and interrupted disdainfully, "These small fries aren't worth using my connections! Just get it done, and you can take the person back."
"I think it's a bit risky. The other side isn't easy to deal with, they've been in..." Chris tried to persuade further.
Tyler turned his head, glaring at him, and asked, "With your cowardice, you definitely can't help our family's pharmaceutical business!"
Chris fell silent.
About ten minutes later, two more cars hurriedly stopped by the roadside, and Tyler immediately instructed, "Have them follow us."
