Chapter 204 Kyle Turns Himself In

As soon as John yelled, the other officers rushed over, guns drawn when they saw the explosives on Kyle.

"Don't move!" Kyle shouted, hands up, looking pale. "I mean no harm."

"Everyone, stay put," Andrew said, trying to keep his cool.

Kyle, hands still up and voice shaky, said, "I didn't put this on myself. Get someone who can defuse it."

Andrew paused, then told John, "Go get the bomb squad, and make it quick."

"Got it." John took off.

"Wait," Andrew called out, "Find someone we trust and keep it quiet."

Kyle looked surprised. "You're quick on your feet."

"I'd have led the Tenth District if I had the chance," Andrew said, wiping sweat and eyeing Kyle. "You look like a gun dealer."

Over an hour later, two bomb squad members left quietly after Andrew briefed them.

In the interrogation room, Andrew, holding a cup of water, asked Kyle, "What's all this about? I don't get it."

Kyle, lighting a cigarette, replied, "I'm here to turn myself in."

Andrew was stunned, spilling his water. "I've been in this business for years, and this is a first," Kyle said, frowning. "I have no choice, I give up."

Andrew put down his cup, blinking. "What's your intention?"

"I'm really turning myself in," Kyle insisted.

"For what?"

"Supplying Jessica and Adam with illegal goods," Kyle said bluntly.

Andrew looked at Kyle, wondering if he was drunk.

"Don't look at me like that," Kyle said, rubbing his temple. "I feel like an idiot myself."

Andrew quickly ran to the door and shouted, "Turn on the surveillance and recording equipment. John, come in and take notes, hurry."

A few minutes later, John sat next to Andrew with a notebook.

"Need water or food? The cafeteria can make something," Andrew asked warmly.

Kyle smiled. "No need, let's get started."

Andrew, shaking his head, asked softly, "What made you decide to turn yourself in?"

"Yesterday, Joe called me," Kyle said, smoking. "He told me to turn myself in and expose Jessica and Adam. I thought he was crazy and cursed him out."

"And then?"Andrew questioned, confused.

"Today, my two bodyguards were thrown into an ice hole in Pine City," Kyle said, trembling. "When they were pulled out, they were unrecognizable."

"When did this happen?" Andrew asked.

"Early this morning."

"Did you go to the scene?"

"Yes." Kyle nodded. "They're in the hospital now. Not dead, but completely disabled and mentally ill."

Andrew was shocked.

"After that, I was scared but thought he was just trying to scare me," Kyle continued, frowning. "Tonight, I went to a club, had a few drinks, and felt dizzy. I fell asleep in the car, and when I woke up, I had explosives strapped to me, and the driver was stuffed in the trunk."

Andrew looked at Kyle, speechless for a moment.

"I've seen a lot in this game, but never anyone like Joe. He takes revenge even when there's no profit," Kyle said. "I have three wives, two kids, and my parents. I don't need money, but I can't handle someone like him. I have no choice."

"If it were me, I might not have a choice either," Andrew agreed.

"I have conditions for my confession," Kyle said, taking a drag from his cigarette. "First, don't dig into my supply chain. You can't touch them, and I can't expose them. It ends with me. Second, I'll only confess to supplying Jessica with illegal guns. Don't push me on other matters, or I won't say anything. Third, you must protect my safety until the case is sentenced."

Andrew thought for a moment. "Okay, but I have a question."

"What?"

"You're afraid of Joe, but not Adam?" Andrew asked.

"I have a family, and so does Adam. Whatever he can do to me, I can do to him, so he won't go to extremes," Kyle replied. "But Joe's a lone wolf. He'll do anything when pushed. I can't risk my life for this. It'll be over in ten years or so."

Andrew nodded.

"One more thing," Kyle said. "My boss is also scared of Joe."

"What do you mean?" Andrew asked.

"Joe acted against me with my boss's permission. My boss gave him my info," Kyle said, grinning. "I've been abandoned."

"Why?" Andrew was confused.

"In the eyes of the top, I'm just a lackey. You're smart, you should figure out why my boss let me take the fall," Kyle said.

Andrew thought for a moment. "Because he thinks Adam is already..."

"Let's stop here," Kyle interrupted.

Andrew tried to keep Kyle's surrender a secret, but since Kyle came to the station with explosives, many saw it. Adam got the info that night. He didn't know Kyle was surrendering but thought the police had enough evidence to arrest him.

Early morning.

Adam, with bloodshot eyes, stood by the window, shouting, "If there's no way out for me, then no one will have it easy. Let's play to the end."

He dialed Jessica's number.

"Hello? Adam."

"Gather all the assets, leave fifty thousand for me, and transfer the rest," Adam said. "Forget about sleeping, come to my place right away."

Half an hour later.

William paced in the Neon Club office, frowning. "This is bad, they got Kyle."

"Who's Kyle?" Enrique asked.

"The guy who supplied Adam. If he's caught, the police probably have enough evidence," William said, cursing. "How did things escalate so quickly?"

Downtown.

Joe, fiddling with a gun, raised his eyebrows. "Doesn't William run errands for Adam like a dog? Next step is to send him to meet Terry."
