Chapter 154 The Completely Transformed Patrick Group
Since Grayson's tragic death, Raymond had inexplicably lost interest in some internal company matters. The so-called regent seemed to have lost his fighting spirit overnight. When asked for his opinion on something, Raymond would lazily respond, "I'm not feeling well lately. If you have any issues, talk to William. If he agrees, go ahead; if not, discuss it further."
Raymond's attitude gave William the best opportunity to shine. With Grayson gone, William became the pillar of the older generation of leaders. Now that Raymond had delegated his power, even if others got problems, they were reluctant to bring them up to William.
William enjoyed the current state of the company. Without the interference of the old guard, he could maximize the improvement of the previously bloated and outdated operational model. In just three months, he had restored the basic operations of the pharmaceutical line, and all the new faces in the company were newly promoted and recruited.
If Grayson hadn't died and Raymond hadn't delegated his power, William's approach would have certainly caused dissatisfaction and backlash from the higher-ups. But now, with one dead and the other indifferent, the higher-ups had no confidence and could only let William change the company's situation. Otherwise, their fate might not be much better.
Inside the Neon Club's private room.
William sat in the middle of the sofa, smiling at everyone, and said, "Let me give you a heads-up. Tomorrow at the company meeting, I will present a new profit distribution plan. From now on, the bonuses for each manager-level person will no longer be decided by the headquarters. I will hand over the branches to you to manage through a contracting system. The headquarters will only set sales targets each month. The better you sell, the more goods you will get next month. The headquarters will set strict drug prices and adjust them according to market changes. When you take the goods, you pay in full, and the remaining profit distribution is up to you."
"This is good."
"Yes, this way, we have more freedom. We can decide how to sell the goods and how to split the money, which will motivate the people below."
"Exactly, this is reasonable. Different regions have different consumption levels. If we follow the old way, with the company setting prices and then selling uniformly, and bonuses based on sales volume, it would be unfair. For example, the person in charge of Maple Street could sell the most without doing much work. But can other regions do the same? They work just as hard but earn less."
A group of newcomers listened to William and all expressed their agreement.
Raymond slumped on the sofa, staring blankly at William, grinning without saying a word.
Enrique took a sip of water and said, "I always thought William didn't understand the company's situation, but his strategies after taking over have been very effective and reasonable."
Raymond still didn't respond.
"Maybe it's really good that he took over." Enrique turned to Raymond. "Such a boss is worthy of our support."
Raymond yawned. "You guys discuss the company's matters. When my friends arrive, I'll leave to play cards."
"Come on, the company is doing great now. Why do you look so down?" Enrique asked knowingly.
Raymond turned around and said simply, "If Grayson hadn't died, he would be in the way; but now that he's dead, who is in the way?"
Enrique was stunned. "I think..."
"I think it's pretty good now, really." Raymond smiled and picked up his glass. "Come on, have a drink."
As soon as he finished speaking, William came over and asked with a smile, "Raymond, let's get together tonight and have some fun?"
"What's there to do with you youngsters?" Raymond shook his head. "I'll be leaving soon."
"Alright, let's catch up later." William didn't insist, just jokingly asked, "When can I meet the four people you introduced?"
"You mean them." Raymond nodded. "I called them, they'll be here soon."
"Then you have to introduce them to me properly."
"No problem. I'll introduce you, but the rest is up to you."
"Got it."
As they spoke, the door to the private room opened, and a young man with red hair led seven or eight people in. "Raymond, long time no see!"
"Come, Zephyr," Raymond stood up, smiling, "Let me introduce you to my new boss."
"I'm Raymond's brother, William."
"Nice to meet you." Red-haired Zephyr stepped forward, shook hands with William, and introduced himself, "Riverside District, Zephyr Wilde."
"Come, sit and chat." Raymond pulled Zephyr to sit between him and William.
After chatting for a while, three more well-known people from Pine City came to join. Without exception, they were all young, and none of them were long-established veterans.
After introducing everyone to William, Raymond found an excuse to leave after sitting for less than twenty minutes. But Enrique stayed, feeling obliged to help William entertain the guests.
Time flew by.
A week later, Alexander was in the office area attending to an elderly man who had come to report a case when Jasper suddenly stormed in with a gloomy look.
"Damn it, Alexander, come out here!" Jasper shouted from the doorway, visibly losing his composure.
Everyone in the office area froze.
The captain insulted the deputy captain in public. This was indeed rare.
Alexander looked up, squinting at Jasper, "Jasper, I get paid by the government here. Speak to me with respect. Do I owe you a scolding?"
Hearing this, Jasper lost control, stepped forward, and grabbed Alexander by the collar, "Come out."
Alexander coldly brushed off Jasper's hand and turned to say, "Everyone, keep working. John, take care of this gentleman."
"Got it." John nodded.
After giving instructions, Alexander followed Jasper out of the office area.
A few minutes later, in an empty hallway, Jasper, eyes red, punched Alexander in the face. "Fuck, you bastard, did you set me up?"
Alexander grabbed Jasper's wrist and quietly asked, "What did I set you up for?"
"Fuck, the $1000 from Finn, did you arrange that on purpose?" Jasper was genuinely anxious. "You even had him report me for bribery to the police oversight. Fuck, you're too devious!"
Alexander looked at Jasper, smiling. "Who started this, was it me? What, can't you handle it now?"
"Damn it!" Jasper swung his fist again.
Alexander kneed Jasper in the stomach, grabbed his neck, and pushed him down. "It's just the two of us here, but you still act so high and mighty. If you can't handle this, don't provoke me, got it?"
