Chapter 142 The Person Is Gone, Only Beasts Remain In the Forest

In the warehouse.

Grayson sat in a chair, his hands trembling as he signed several equity transfer contracts, stock purchase agreements, and pre-prepared notarized documents. After finishing, he stood up and called out, "Let's go."

In the distance, a few henchmen, holding his brother-in-law and others, didn't move.

"Fuck, let my people go," Grayson shouted furiously.

Raymond placed the documents in a manila folder, tossed it to William, then knelt on the ground with a thud and said to Grayson, "Hate me if you want. I let you down."

Grayson turned to Raymond and said succinctly, "Don't blame anyone else. Blame myself. It's my own damn fault for being soft-hearted. I deserve it."

Raymond's lips trembled, but he said nothing.

"Let them go," Enrique shouted to the henchmen.

Following the order, the henchmen lowered their guns and stepped aside, allowing the brother-in-law and others to walk towards Grayson.

Grayson flexed his wrist, turned to William, and said, "If you treat Raymond badly, you'll be punished."

With that, everyone started to walk out.

William casually tossed the contracts onto a crate and immediately went over to help Raymond up. "Raymond, get up."

"I did something that even disgusts myself," Raymond said, clenching his fists and turning to William. "When the company recovers, don't mistreat Grayson."

"I won't." William nodded heavily.

After speaking, Raymond stood up and looked at Grayson's back, feeling a pang of sadness. "Let's go drink, everyone!"

Just as he finished speaking, a noise came from the warehouse's main door. David, reeking of alcohol, walked in and looked at Grayson. "Are you leaving?"

Grayson was taken aback. "Move aside."

"Fuck!" David stood still, cursing in a low voice.

Everyone inside the warehouse was stunned by his words.

"Who are you cursing at?" Grayson, already filled with anger, looked at David in disbelief. "Say it again!"

"Fuck!" David cursed again, his hands in his pockets, staring blankly.

"Bastard." Grayson snapped, reaching out to choke David.

Raymond snapped out of it and immediately rushed forward, shouting, "David, what are you doing?"

Grayson slapped David across the face. "Get lost."

"Terry treated you so well, but you cause trouble when the company is at its worst. Are you even human?"

David roared in anger and suddenly pulled out a gun.

Grayson froze, a terrible premonition rising in his heart.

"David!" Raymond shouted, running forward like a madman.

David, holding the gun, screamed hysterically, "You sell the company, I have to kill you."

"David, don't move," Raymond shouted again.

Grayson heard and stepped back.

Three gunshots rang out, and Grayson was hit in the chest, stumbling back several steps.

Raymond was stunned, Enrique was stunned, and everyone in the room was stunned except for William, who stared blankly at Grayson, his fists clenched.

Two seconds later, Grayson fell to the ground, convulsing, and looked towards William.

David shot Grayson in the head, blood splattering and staining the floor.

"Grayson!"

"Grayson!"

His brother-in-law and the middle-aged man snapped out of it and rushed towards Grayson's body.

"You're all accomplices. You all deserve to die," David shouted, his legs stiff and his arms trembling as he turned the gun and pulled the trigger again.

Three more gunshots rang out, and the brother-in-law and the middle-aged man fell beside Grayson.

David kept pulling the trigger, but the gun clicked empty.

Raymond rushed over and kicked David in the waist, shouting, "Are you crazy?"

David leaned against the wall, dazed, letting Raymond beat him without fighting back.

Raymond punched David in the face repeatedly, shouting, "What are you trying to do? What do you mean? He already handed over power, do you have to kill him?"

William sat on the ground with a thud, staring blankly at Grayson, saying nothing.

Enrique glanced at William and, after a moment of silence, said, "Pull Raymond away."

At the door, Raymond was beating David, tears streaming down his face as he shouted, "Do you think what you did was right? The gun went off, there's no turning back. None, do you understand?"

David, his nose bleeding, looked at Raymond blankly. "Raymond, you... you all have your positions. Don't I have mine?"

Raymond froze at his words.

"I have my position, too," David shouted, his eyes wide. "From now on, anyone who goes against William is going against me. I've lost my job and killed people. Ifif William has no way out, neither do I."

"You're harming me!"

William roared, rushing at David like a madman. "Who told you to make decisions for me, who?"

"If he doesn't die, he'll come after you sooner or later," David shouted, his eyes wide. "I won't just kill him, I'll kill everyone who follows him. It's already broken, keeping them is a disaster."

Raymond, hearing this, stepped back in a daze, looking at William, then at Grayson on the ground, suddenly feeling that the people he thought he knew had become strangers.

Pine City.

At the entrance of Terry's lover's residence, the sound of a door being pried open could be heard.

Terry's lover was sitting on the sofa, talking on the phone.

Suddenly, the door opened.

Two dirty and skinny little boys, holding knives, looked at her nervously.

"Who are you?" the lover asked, standing up in a panic and stepping back.

"Rob... robbery."

"The money is in the drawer, in the drawer, take it yourself," the lover said without hesitation, pointing to the drawer as she backed away.

The two boys suddenly rushed forward, but their target wasn't the drawer with the money.

"What are you doing?" the lover shouted in despair.

Under the light, the two naive boys cruelly swung their knives, completely losing their humanity.

A few minutes later.

The two boys ransacked some money and quickly left with the door wide open.

Stardust City, the Young family.

As Dylan walked upstairs, his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was William's number. After a moment of hesitation, he hung up.

A few seconds later, Dylan reached the study door, just about to knock when the phone rang again.

He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was a senior executive from the company. He immediately answered, "Hello?"

"Grayson is dead."

Dylan froze.

"William called me, looking for you. You should answer," the executive reminded.

Dylan stood in front of the study, stunned and unresponsive.

The door suddenly opened, and Christopher, looking haggard and weary, asked, "What's going on?"

Dylan looked at his father, hesitated for a moment, and said, "Nothing, I had someone make some soup for you. You should drink it."

On the other end.

Samuel received the documents from John and immediately dialed a number, saying, "Set up a meeting with Christopher. I need to explain my intentions to him."
