Chapter 109 The Deformed Child

Tyler turned around to the four people running towards him and hoarsely asked, "Why aren't you charging forward?"

The four were stunned for a moment before the leader responded, "The guys on the other side have a lot of guns. We need to protect Todd."

"Where's your gun?" Tyler asked again.

The leader was taken aback and instinctively raised his right arm. "The gun's right here!"

Without warning, Tyler raised his rifle and fired almost point-blank at the man's wrist.

A scream echoed through the alley as the leader's entire right hand was blown off, falling onto the dirty ground.

Everyone was stunned by the sight.

Tyler jumped and shouted, "Do you think you're fit to carry a gun and lead a team? At this close range, I'm not asking you to capture everyone, but at least buy some time, right? You took my money but didn't do the job."

The leader knelt on the ground, convulsing in pain, glaring at Tyler with gritted teeth.

The three companions behind him, filled with anger, stepped forward to charge.

"Don't move." the leader gasped, stopping his companions, kneeling on the ground, clutching his severed wrist.

"Give them money and let them go," Tyler said darkly, turning and shouting, "The rest of you, follow me."

On the left, a young man following Tyler immediately stepped forward and asked, "Should we send Todd back?"

Tyler stopped in his tracks and suddenly turned around.

Todd, standing in the middle of the crowd, met Tyler's slightly crazed eyes and immediately knelt down. "Boss, boss, I helped the Patrick family. You asked me to lure them over, and I did. Please spare my life, I beg you."

Tyler shot Todd in the chest, sending him flying and falling on his back.

"Robert's out, what's the use of him?" Tyler tossed the now-empty rifle to a companion and quickly walked towards the street corner. "Clean up the alley, the rest of you, follow me."

Tyler's crazed and neurotic behavior instantly broke Randy and his companions' spirits. They screamed and started to run.

A chaotic burst of gunfire erupted, and the hustlers looking to make a quick buck ultimately fell on the unpredictable streets.

A few seconds later.

As the remaining people were dragging Todd and the others' bodies into the car, Chris came running, panting, and looked in shock at the unrecognizable Todd.

"What... what happened?" Chris pointed at Todd and asked, "How did he die?"

The subordinates, trembling and pale, stammered, "Mr. Young thought Robert's escape made Todd useless, so he shot him."

Chris spun around in place, feeling powerless, and shouted, "Why did we go through all this trouble to find Todd?! It was to do better business, to protect our interests, to make money, not to use him for target practice. As long as Todd was alive, Benjamin would never give up on him. Now that he's dead, what's the point?"

Everyone listened to Chris without saying a word.

"Damn it," Chris cursed and walked towards his car.

In the car.

At the company and at home, Tyler, who was extremely repressed due to his disguise, sat in the back seat, constantly sniffing and sweating profusely.

The follower in the front passenger seat pointed to the left side of the road and shouted into the walkie-talkie, "Those two cars behind us, stop following us. Take the side road and flank them from the other end. They're injured and can't run far."

Tyler tugged at his collar, took a couple of deep breaths, and hoarsely shouted, "Give... give me the meds... I can't breathe."

"Tyler, that's a lot," the burly young man advised.

Tyler suddenly stood up, grabbed the young man from behind, and shouted, "I saidI can't breathe. Do you want me to die? Are you all hoping I die?"

Seeing that Tyler wouldn't listen, the burly young man immediately opened the glove compartment, took out a vial of medication, and said, "Okay, okay, you take it all. Here, I'll get you the needle."

On a dark, nameless road, Robert supported Carl and shouted, "Carl, hold on a bit longer. Just hold on a bit longer. I've already had Matt make the call. Our people will be here soon."

Carl, barely conscious, lowered his head and responded, "Don't worry about me. I really can't go on. My head is too heavy... just leave me, leave me."

Beside them, Matt, holding a phone, cried out, "Benjamin, it's over. We're in trouble. Todd was already being watched by the other side. As soon as we made a move, the local drug company people came. Four cars, over a dozen people, and they started shooting as soon as they got out. Arthur's already been killed."

"Calm down, calm down and talk to me," Benjamin's voice was steady, "Where are you, what's the situation, are they still chasing you?"

"They're chasing us. Carl's been shot and can't walk. We're not familiar with the area, running on the streets not knowing where to go. You need to get here fast, or Carl's a goner."

"Damn it, haven't you ever seen someone die or fired a gun?" Benjamin suddenly shouted, "Calm down. If you don't tell me exactly where you are, how am I supposed to find you?"

Matt, a bit more focused after being yelled at, immediately looked around and saw a construction site at Memorial Square. He shouted, "We're at Memorial Square, it's a construction site."

"Listen to me, delay as much as you can, run together if you can. If you can't, leave the ones who can't walk. You're all my people, I don't want to see anyone gone, but I don't want to see everyone not make it back either, got it?" Benjamin's voice was firm, "Don't panic, stay calm, and call me anytime."

"Okay, okay."

With that, they ended the call, and Matt pulled Robert, shouting, "Run to the construction site, Benjamin's on his way."

"Carl, did you hear that? Our people are coming," Robert said as he supported Carl and quickly headed across the street.

At that moment, the sound of an engine roared as an SUV skidded around the corner. Tyler, his eyes bright after the injection, said, "Charge over there. I want to cut off one of Robert's arms and make Benjamin come get it."

The burly young man in the front passenger seat immediately advised, "Let our people go first, then we'll go in."

"Do you know the layout of the construction site?" Tyler glared and asked, "If they get in there and take a few turns, where are you going to find them?"

The burly young man turned around and immediately shouted, "Drive fast, charge over there."

On the street.

Benjamin urged Matthew, "Drive faster, my children are almost dead."

Matthew floored the gas pedal, frowned, and took out his phone, dialing Alexander's number.
