Chapter 141 The Breakup

On the street.

Grayson leaned back in the car, arms crossed, eyes closed, resting.

"Grayson, things went so well. Why do you look so unhappy?" his brother-in-law asked, puzzled.

Grayson was silent for a moment, then sighed and replied, "If there was a better way, who would want to be so mercenary..."

Before he could finish, an SUV suddenly crashed into the right side of Grayson's car.

The car skidded about 10 feet on the icy road before coming to a halt.

"Fuck!" his brother-in-law shook his head and reached for his gun.

The car door was yanked open, and Enrique, leading three men with rifles, pointed them at the car and said expressionlessly, "Raymond said he didn't want to do this, but you did it first."

Grayson was stunned.

"Get out of the car," Enrique said in a low voice.

"Enrique, I don't get it. Why are you doing this?" the middle-aged man sitting next to Grayson shouted, clenching his fists. "He's dead. Why don't you find a way out for yourself?"

"Don't push me. Get out of the car," Enrique repeated, shouting.

An hour later.

In the warehouse of the Patrick Group on the outskirts of Stardust City, Grayson, with slightly disheveled hair, sat on a shabby chair, staring blankly at Raymond without saying a word.

"We just talked this afternoon, but now you're in Stardust City," Raymond said, looking down, "Are you in that hurry?"

Grayson remained silent.

"I told you, even if you want to leave, we can part amicably. There's no need for knives and guns," Raymond said, his eyes red and voice hoarse as he looked up at Grayson. "Even if you don't consider us, think about Terry, who was just buried. Did he ever mistreat you?"

"No, but he..."

"Don't mention Chris," Raymond shouted, eyes wide. "I'm asking you. Did Terry ever mistreat you?"

Grayson was silent again.

"If you want to cash out your shares, I won't let William shortchange you. But if you want to drain the company and sell the Patrick Group with Terry's lover, I won't agree," Raymond said, slapping the table and speaking slowly. "Because you're going too far, understand?"

William, sitting quietly on a nearby crate, listened to Raymond without saying a word.

Grayson rubbed his hands, tilted his head, and asked Raymond, "Terry didn't mistreat me, but did I mistreat him? When the company was in trouble a couple of years ago, and there wasn't even $10,000 in the safe, who helped him through it? It was me, right? When Terry was around, no matter how wrong his decisions were, didn't I fully support him after offering my suggestions?"

Raymond, frustrated, pulled out a pack of cigarettes, his hands shaking as he lit one.

"He didn't mistreat me, but I never wronged him, either," Grayson shouted. "The shares are rightfully mine. There's no problem with me taking them, right? Whether people in the company want to follow William or me, that's their choice. I never forced anyone. So if the Patrick Group is in such a bad state now, it's not my fault. The company had problems to begin with, understand?"

Raymond waved his hand. "Grayson, I don't want to argue with you. Since it's all out in the open, let's solve this once and for all."

"Fine, how do you want to solve it?"

"I agree to let you cash out your shares and take your people, but there are two conditions," Raymond said, smoking and looking down. "First, your shares will be bought by William, Enrique, and me, but the payment will be made over three years. Specifically, 20% the first year, 30% the second year, and 50% the third year. Second, during these three years, you can't touch the pharmaceutical business or poach the Patrick Group's middle and upper management. If you violate the agreement, the remaining money won't be paid, and while I can temporarily stop selling drugs, the Patrick Group will come after you first."

Grayson laughed. "Raymond, Terry's dead, and you've become a business elite! Why don't you just take my life? If you kill me, wouldn't you be completely at ease? Why bother with agreements and contracts?"

Raymond looked up, his eyes bloodshot, and replied, "Grayson, if you weren't my brother from the start, do you think I'd have brought you here?"

Grayson was stunned.

"Is it hard to kill you? Not killing you is the hard part, understand?" Raymond said, slapping the table and tossing his cigarette. "This is the best way. You can still be a rich man with the money. In three years, I might even let you have a part of the market, but I can't let you threaten the Patrick Group now."

Grayson slumped into the chair, looking up at Raymond with a calm expression. "Then you might as well kill me. I can't accept the three-year payment plan, and I can't explain it to my people."

"Are you provoking me?" Raymond asked, clenching his fists.

"Yes, I am," Grayson said, pointing at William on the crate. "If you kill me for him, I won't say a word."

"I'm asking you one more time. Do you agree or not?"

"I don't agree, not even if I die," Grayson replied firmly.

William, hearing this, suddenly jumped off the crate and looked up at Grayson. "Grayson, for the sake of Terry just being buried today, can you take a step back?"

"Don't talk to me about him," Grayson replied loudly, "I don't owe him anything."

The room fell silent.

Raymond stared at Grayson, then took out his phone. "You're right. I can't bring myself to do it."

Grayson was stunned.

"Your cousin, Terry's lover, and the high-level people with you, I've had them all watched," Raymond said, his voice trembling. "If you don't agree, I have no choice but to have them taken out."

"You're threatening me!" Grayson stood up, eyes wide with fear.

"Do I look like I'm threatening you?" Raymond, eyes red, shouted into the phone. "You've pushed things to this point. What do you want me to do? Tell me, what should I do?"

Grayson was stunned.

"Money or people, make a choice," Raymond demanded.

Silence, a brief silence, then Grayson smiled, closed his eyes, and after a long pause, gave Raymond a thumbs up. "Fine, Terry was your brother, but I'm the one you want to kill. Fine, I give up. Bring the agreement and contract, I'll sign."

Raymond thought for a moment, then turned and shouted, "Enrique, bring the contract and agreement."

Pine City.

John, holding a stack of documents, walked to the office area and instructed, "Send this to Stardust City via computer, quickly."
