Chapter 122 Must Leave Tonight

Roadside.

The Anderson family members were hiding behind tree trunks, their eyes bloodshot as they fired into the snow. Meanwhile, the people from The VitaPharm Company were standing in the open field with nowhere to hide, so they were quickly defeated and scattered, fleeing back the way they came.

Alexander pulled Chris up from the trench and immediately shouted, "Don't chase them! The others will hear the gunshots and come over. Their car is quite far from here. Let's get out of here quickly."

"Let's go. Stop shooting."

"Benjamin."

After Andrew shouted several times in succession, Benjamin finally shouted back at his red-eyed brother, and they turned to run towards the fork in the road, quickly disappearing.

Two minutes later.

Terry sat in the car, angrily asking over the radio, "Where are they? Did you catch them?"

"Chris was prepared. I got held up while chasing him," Raymond responded, panting. "The others just ran off. I'm heading to the road now."

"I heard gunshots ahead just now. You're close. Get over there immediately." Terry's face was no longer calm. Only urgency and anxiety remained. "I'm behind, and I'll be there soon."

"Damn it!"

At that moment, the burly man leading The VitaPharm Company team cursed angrily over the radio, "You guys are useless! Weren't you supposed to be watching Chris the whole time?"

Terry was momentarily stunned and then asked, "Where are you?"

"I just got out of the car to chase Chris, and the others came to pick him up, firing at us from the roadside. Three of my men are dead," the burly man raged, "Can you tell me why Chris lost control? His intentions were clear from the start; he wanted to lead us into a trap."

Terry argued, "Chris just wanted to find a chance to escape. He couldn't have been working with the others..."

"Fuck! When Chris met up with the others, he didn't even fire a shot," the burly man interrupted, cursing, "Before today's deal, he had definitely made a deal with the others. Understand?"

Terry was stunned.

"Wait for Mr. Young's call," the burly man said before hanging up.

On the road near South Village.

Two cars quickly turned around and headed towards the city.

Christopher sat in the car, anxiously drinking half a bottle of water before hoarsely cursing, "I misjudged. The Pine City group is really useless. Dylan, tell Terry to go back to where he came from. We don't need him anymore."

"Dad, it's not a big deal that they ran away, but I'm worried the others have connections. If they get away, then..." Dylan reminded him.

Christopher frowned and pondered for a moment before picking up his phone, finding a number in his contacts, and dialing it.

"Hello, Christopher?" The call connected after a few seconds.

"Busy man, what are you up to?" Christopher asked with a smile.

"Not feeling well. Taking a couple of days off at home. What's up, another card game?" the other person joked.

"I do want to play cards with you." Christopher sighed. "My son got into some trouble and was kidnapped. I'm not making this up."

" Yes, it's because of the Pine City pharmaceutical sales. "

"Yes, I'm really angry about this. "

"No, I haven't contacted the police yet. The other side has some connections within the police system."

"Yes, I'm not afraid of anything else, just worried about the news getting out. It would be very troublesome. Okay, let's meet and talk. Alright."

After talking for a few minutes, Christopher hung up and expressionlessly ordered, "Get to the Stardust City garrison as fast as possible."

"Are we looking for military connections?" Dylan asked.

Christopher nodded. "Terry said that Benjamin's connection is a director in the Pine City police department, so we can't rely on the police. Besides, these thugs messed with Chris, so they'll definitely try to run. It's easier to deal with this through the garrison."

"Yes, if they want to leave, they'll have to pass through checkpoints. We can have the garrison notify the checkpoints, and it'll be easier to handle," Dylan agreed.

Just then, the phone rang urgently. Christopher glanced at the caller ID, saw it was Terry, and hung up.

North side of South Village.

Alexander sat in the car and ordered, "Once Benjamin and the others get here, we'll abandon the car and head out."

"Are we leaving now, in such a hurry?" Matthew asked.

Chris, sitting in the car, replied, "If we don't leave now, we won't be able to later."

Alexander turned to Chris and said, "You tricked Terry, so we're on the same side now. If we can't leave, your fate won't be good either."

Chris pondered for a moment and said, "Terry doesn't have any local connections, but Christopher does. We need to leave the area tonight and stay far from Stardust City."

Alexander got out of the car and walked to the side, dialing Samuel's number.

A few minutes later.

Benjamin and the others hurried over and began preparing to abandon their guns and cars.

Meanwhile.

In a residence in Pine City, Samuel, wearing pajamas, dialed a number. "Have you made contact?"

"I haven't contacted him yet. Just have the person handling it call him directly using the number I gave you," the other person reminded him in a low voice, "We should minimize our involvement."

"Got it, I understand."

Samuel nodded and immediately sent a text message to Alexander using a new phone.

Roadside in South Village.

Alexander, holding his phone, dialed the number Samuel had given him.

The busy tone rang in the earpiece.

After several seconds with no answer, Alexander frowned and called again. After waiting for a while, there was still no answer.

Benjamin hurried over and asked quietly, "How's the contact going?"

"No one's answering." Alexander shook his head. "Let's wait a bit. Maybe he'll call back."

"Wasn't this arranged in advance? Why isn't he answering now?" Benjamin was worried.

"I don't know." Alexander shook his head.

Benjamin glanced at his watch and seriously reminded, "We're not far from where the gunshots were. If the police come, we'll run into them easily."

"I'll try again," Alexander pondered for a moment and then dialed Samuel's number again.

At the checkpoint.

A chubby foreign sergeant, holding a cup of strong coffee in his right hand, frowned at a young man and asked, "Chase, the police sent a notice for assistance, claiming that a group of soldiers smuggling military supplies often passes through during your shift. Do you know anything about this?"

Chase smiled and replied, "All the supply trucks that pass through here have proper documentation. I follow the regulations for letting them through."
