Chapter 132 The Quiet Game Under the Table Begins

On an unnamed road about 3 miles from the training camp in Stardust City, several cars were stalled, and seven or eight people were digging around a small tree.

Shovelfuls of dirt were thrown to the sides of the deep pit. After a while of hard digging, a frozen, hard military green coat was revealed.

Everyone paused for a moment. One of the burly men jumped into the pit, reached out, and lifted the coat. His brow furrowed immediately, and he turned his head, trying to suppress the churning in his stomach, and said, "Lift it out and tell Mr. Young we found it."

Two minutes later, the group lifted the body wrapped in the military coat and placed it by the pit.

By the roadside, a car door popped open, and Christopher led Dylan over, his face pale as he pointed to the body on the ground and said, "I want to see the face."

The burly man bent down again and lifted the military coat.

A purple, sunken face appeared before everyone, the body covered in frozen blood, with internal organs spilling out. Due to the cold outdoor temperature, the body hadn't decayed, but the frozen organs were stuck to the clothes, making for a gruesome sight.

Even though Christopher had been through hardships, his legs went weak, and his body was shaking.

Dylan immediately stepped forward to support Christopher, his face changing dramatically as he cried out in grief, "Tyler, why didn't you listen to Dad?"

Christopher couldn't cry at this moment, nor could he speak for a while. He just stared blankly at Tyler, letting the cold wind mess up his hair.

After two or three minutes, Christopher pushed Dylan away, trembling as he covered the body with the military coat, closing his eyes and saying, "Don't... don't tell Tyler's mom yet."

"I'm going to kill Benjamin right now!" Dylan, eyes wide with anger and tears streaming down his face, was about to rush to the car.

Several of the men who had been digging the body immediately rushed forward to stop him, persuading him, "Dylan, listen to Mr. Young's arrangements."

"Don't be impulsive. The person is already with the military. Even if we want him to pay with his life, it has to be legal and reasonable."

"Listen to me. Don't act rashly."

The more they tried to persuade Dylan, the more agitated he became, tearing at the men by the roadside until he finally fell to the ground, crying uncontrollably.

Christopher stood dazed by the body, clutching his chest and saying, "Tyler died unjustly. If I don't kill him, I... I I will sentence him to death."

As he finished speaking, a car stopped by the roadside, and a young man in a suit quickly walked over, standing to the right of the body and saying, "Mr. Young, we found the person who was with Tyler that day. They're locked in the basement of the training camp."

"Did they talk?"

"Yeah. It was indeed Benjamin who shot Tyler." The young man avoided looking at the body on the ground.

Christopher clenched his fists. "The training camp? Someone in the military is helping them. Do the people who went with Tyler know?"

"They don't know." The young man shook his head. "It's hard to pin this on the military. As long as Benjamin insists he went in to hide on his own, and we don't know exactly who helped him, it will end up unresolved. Otherwise, they wouldn't have locked our people in the basement before leaving."

"One Benjamin isn't enough," Christopher said darkly, "Let the military take the statement first. Doesn't Benjamin have a nephew? Focus the case on him."

"Okay, I'll call the military."

The young man agreed and walked to the side, taking out his phone to make a call. After a short conversation, he returned with a grim face and said, "Mr. Young, the police are at the military base to take Benjamin and that guy named Matthew."

Christopher turned, his eyes fierce as he stared at the young man without speaking.

The young man added, "The police said the shooting at the Memorial Square construction site is related to Benjamin and his group. According to regulations, they have to hand them over."

Christopher closed his eyes and clenched his fists, veins bulging on his forehead. "It's the commissioner from Pine City obstructing us. He's got connections in Stardust City. He's trying to hinder me in my son's case. I won't let him off easily."

At the hospital in the planned area.

A second-level police chief, leading eight people, spoke politely, "We've been chasing these two for a long time. I'm sorry, but I have to take them today."

"They committed a crime in the planned area. The inspection team is still verifying if they're involved in the internal smuggling of military supplies, so we can't hand them over to you yet," a soldier responded expressionlessly.

"This is difficult."

"Yes, it's difficult."

"Then let's wait. I'll call the police department and have the higher-ups contact your inspection department to coordinate and see what's going on with the smuggling case." The second-level police chief remained calm. "I'll wait in the car."

The soldier's face turned grim, staring at the police chief for a few seconds before responding in a low voice, "Or you can wait a moment while I ask the higher-ups."

"Alright, thank you." The second-level police chief nodded with a smile.

About half an hour later.

Benjamin, lying in a hospital bed, was shackled at the chest, waist, and legs before being wheeled out by the police and stuffed into a patrol car.

A little while later, Matthew was also brought out by four officers and put into a second car.

"Thank you." The second-level police chief saluted the soldiers and others, then quickly closed the car door and ordered, "Head to Stardust City as fast as possible."

On the way, Matthew, pale-faced, glanced at the officer beside him and asked hoarsely, "Can... can I have some water?"

The officer picked up a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap, and fed it to Matthew while whispering, "Your purpose in coming to Stardust City is to investigate the fake drug case from a while ago. You intended to catch Todd but encountered Tyler's silencing. But his death has nothing to do with you; it was Benjamin's doing. As the case neared its end, you, Andrew, and Alexander were responsible for protecting the witness Chris out of Stardust City when you were attacked by unknown individuals, and then you were sent to the military. As for where Andrew and Alexander went, you don't know."

Matthew nodded after a moment. "Understood."

"Other than what I told you, no matter who asks, you say you don't know." The officer glanced around, leaned close to Matthew's ear, and said, "Blame everything you can on Benjamin. Before getting out of the car, I'll give you a note with the details of the events. Look at it carefully."

Matthew was stunned. "What about Benjamin?"

"He can handle more charges," the officer responded expressionlessly.

In the Pine City police chief's office.

Samuel sat in his chair, tapping his fingers on the desk. After a moment of silence, he picked up the phone and dialed a number.

"Hello? Samuel."

"Prepare a case assignment investigation report, along with the details of the fake drug case, and two small case study reports," Samuel instructed slowly, "The date is a week ago, and the assignees are Andrew, Matthew, and Alexander. Review it three times to ensure it's realistic."

"Understood." The other party nodded.

At the lodging in the planned area.

Alexander was still being resuscitated, showing no signs of waking up.
