Chapter 114 I Just Need One Word from You

William pondered for a moment. Instead of leaving immediately, he sat on the sofa and said, "There were already rumors when we were at The VitaPharm Company headquarters."

"What rumors?" Terry asked with a frown.

"Both our people and The VitaPharm Company folks are saying that the other side's condition is to exchange Chris for Tyler, and Christopher is in favor of it," William responded in a low voice.

Hearing this, Terry immediately cursed, "I knew it. When Christopher talked to me earlier, he must have known the other side's condition. He didn't even consider other options; he just wanted to hear my thoughts directly."

"Not necessarily." William shook his head. "The information might not have come from the other side; it could have been leaked by our own people to The VitaPharm Company."

Terry was stunned upon hearing this.

"Our companies have been working together for so long. It's not surprising that some of our higher-ups have good relationships with The VitaPharm Company," William added.

Terry frowned and pondered for a while, saying, "Not many people know about this. Just Raymond and his team."

"Of course, The VitaPharm Company wouldn't befriend our company's janitors." William looked up at Terry and asked softly, "Terry, I just want to know. What have you decided?"

"The other side's move is too vicious," Terry took out a pack of cigarettes, responding anxiously, "If I don't agree to exchange Chris for Tyler, The VitaPharm Company won't cooperate. Right now, we have no leverage against them; we don't even have the qualification to resist. They not only supply us with goods but are also a crucial relationship we must rely on. But on the other hand, if we really let Chris go to exchange for Tyler, it would be like sending him to his death."

"Letting Chris go to exchange for Tyler means Chris will surely die." William clarified. "Once you let Chris out, he won't come back. With Tyler in their hands, the other side has all the control. No matter how well you handle it, the best outcome is saving Tyler's life, but Chris will be lost. And we will still be passive. First, The VitaPharm Company will be dissatisfied with our performance in this matter; second, the company's higher-ups will be disappointed because you chose to abandon a brother for the sake of interests."

Terry took a drag on his cigarette, his eyes red as he looked at William. "Then what do you want me to do?"

"If Chris gets killed by the other side during the exchange, what do you think their reaction will be? And what will happen to Tyler?" William asked with a dark expression after a long silence.

Terry was stunned.

"Terry, we don't necessarily have to save him." William rubbed his hands together. "Since he's bound to die, then we have to..."

"Impossible!" Terry, understanding William's intention, suddenly stood up and slammed the table, shouting, "Get out, get out now."

"I'm not leaving," William shouted back, equally agitated. "Terry, if it were me, I could talk about loyalty and righteousness, but you can't. You're the decision-maker; at critical moments, you must make sacrifices."

"No," Terry clutched his chest, waving his hand and shouting, "If this gets exposed, you and I will be doomed. Remember, secrets will eventually be revealed. Get ou., I don't want to argue with you, Get out!" After arguing for over ten minutes. William left the room with a swollen cheek, heading silently towards the elevator.

Raymond and a few others bumped into William and asked with a frown, "Where are you going?"

"There's an urgent matter in Pine City. I'm heading back," William said, walking away without looking back.

Raymond was puzzled and turned to the middle-aged man next to him, muttering, "Such a big issue, and he just leaves like that?"

"Are you not used to it yet?" the middle-aged man said, smiling. "William and Terry always have fierce arguments when something happens."

Raymond shook his head and sighed, saying no more.

Terry sat on the sofa for a long time before personally calling Chris.

After a while, Chris walked in, expressionless, and sat opposite Terry.

"Have a... have a cigarette," Terry offered.

Chris pondered for a moment and then asked, "Are the rumors true?"

Terry looked up at him, hands tightly clasped, without saying a word.

Chris held back for a long time, then suddenly smiled and said, "Tyler got himself into trouble; it's entirely his own fault. If it weren't for him, it would be Benjamin and Robert kneeling here now. I just don't get it. The strategy was my idea, and everyone saw its effectiveness. But ironically, after offering my plan, I have to risk my life. I really don't know what to say."

Terry looked up at Chris and asked in a trembling voice, "How many years have we known each other?"

"Terry, you don't need to say it; I understand everything you want to say," Chris said, tilting his head and asking word by word, "I just want to ask you one thing: are you going to save me or Tyler? If it's him, I won't say another word. I'll cooperate with whatever you arrange."

The room fell silent instantly.

Terry took a drag on his cigarette, then slowly stood up, his eyes red as he looked at Chris.

Chris smiled and turned his head away.

Terry knelt heavily on the ground and said, "Chris, if Tyler doesn't come back, our company and over a thousand brothers inside and out are finished. I'm begging you, please help."

Chris swallowed, took the cigarette pack, and lit one.

Terry looked at him, his voice trembling, "Chris, we've been friends for so many years. You know what kind of person I am. If you say no today, I won't force you. You can leave Stardust City immediately, and I'll take whatever Christopher does to me."

"Terry, do you know why the other side specifically wants to exchange me?" Chris asked.

"They must know about the fake drug scheme you set up," Terry responded honestly.

"Yes, they hate me more than they hate you," Chris said, taking a drag on his cigarette. "They not only want to clear up the fake drug issue but also want to kill me. From the moment things went wrong, I've been fighting the Anderson family, and they've watched their people die at my hands one by one. So, do you know what will happen if I show up?"

Terry looked up. "If you can stall for a bit, let Tyler show up first, I promise I'll save you, I promise!"

Chris stood up, a cigarette in his mouth, and smiled. "Alright, I'll go."

"Are you really agreeing?"

"You knelt down; how can I not agree?" Chris turned and walked away. "You arrange it, I'll follow your lead."

Hearing this, Terry slowly closed his eyes, tears streaming down his face.

In the car.

Andrew curiously asked Alexander, "Who have you been texting all this time, and why are you using a new phone?"

Alexander was startled and tilted the phone screen towards himself, replying, "It's Samuel."
