Chapter 104 Randy Got Caught

Robert perked up at the sound. "Are you sure it's him?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I saw someone greet him." Matt nodded. "So, what do we do? Do we go for him?"

"No, not yet," Robert urgently instructed, "Glimmeridge is a big place. If something goes wrong, you might not get out. Just keep an eye on him. I'm heading to the entrance now."

"Got it." Matt nodded.

After ending the call, Robert immediately dialed Alexander, but the line was busy.

On a city street.

Alexander, holding his phone, frowned and said, "Yes, we've already left the camp. Anyway, thanks to you and your brother for this."

"After what happened last night, it's hard for me to get out, too," Emily responded with wide eyes, "You guys be careful. I heard from my brother that this guy named Tyler is a spoiled rich kid from a big pharmaceutical company in Stardust City. He's got connections."

"Yeah, I know." Alexander nodded. "I have something urgent to take care of, so I'll talk to you later."

"Alexander!"

"What's up?"

"Did my brother say anything harsh to you?" Emily asked hesitantly.

Alexander was taken aback. "No, I just thanked him in the office."

"That's good," Emily replied with a smile, "My brother is usually pretty straightforward and likes to keep an eye on me."

"That's good."

"Alright, you go ahead. We'll talk later."

"Okay."

With that, they ended the call. Emily sat on her bed, suddenly feeling a strange distance between herself and Alexander, as if they were just acquaintances.

By the roadside.

Andrew turned to Alexander and said, "Well, that's settled. Neither of us should think about her anymore; it's pointless."

"I never did," Alexander replied offhandedly.

"Nonsense, you're even more despicable than me, you just don't say it," Andrew scoffed.

Alexander touched the bandage on his thigh and quickly changed the subject. "Did Benjamin call you?"

"Yeah." Andrew glanced at his watch. "They went to get the guns."

"Let's wait for them. Once they're back, we'll go find Robert together," Alexander said, scanning the roadside. "Come on, let's grab something to eat."

In the Glimmeridge employee break room.

Randy unlocked his personal locker, took out a bunch of clothes and papers, and tossed them on the table. "The uniform was bought last month. Whoever it fits can take it. The client lists are here; you guys can split them up. I know all the people on there, so just say I referred you when you contact them."

"Are you really quitting? This is so sudden," a friend on the left asked with a smile. "Got a better gig?"

"No, just helping out a friend at his company," Randy replied nonchalantly.

"Thanks," another guy said, copying the contacts from the papers into his notebook.

"No need to thank me. Just take what you need," Randy said, sitting on the bed with a smile. "Even though I'm leaving, let's stay in touch. You guys have been great to me here at Glimmeridge. Let's get together sometime."

"Sure."

"Okay, I'll treat you to dinner next time."

As they chatted, a middle-aged man walked in with a white envelope and tossed it to Randy. "Here's your paycheck."

"Thanks, manager."

"No need to thank me," the manager said with a smile from the doorway. "Since you're leaving, make sure you do well out there. Who knows, I might need your help someday."

"As always, Manager, your words are comforting to hear," Randy replied.

"Alright, I'm off," the manager said with a smile and left.

Randy stood up with the money, jokingly clasped his hands together, and said, "Alright, everyone, I'm off. See you around."

"Okay, take care."

"Let's go, I'll see you off."

With that, a group of people left the break room and headed towards the lobby.

At the edge of the casino floor, Matt slowly took out his phone and whispered, "He's out."

At Randy's house.

Todd lay on the bed, constantly checking his watch and muttering, "Why is it taking so long to get something?"

A few minutes later.

Randy stood at the entrance of Glimmeridge, saying goodbye to a large group of friends before leisurely heading to the parking lot with another buddy.

The sun had set, and it was already dark. Randy and his friend walked through the snow, chatting as they approached the car.

Not far away, a figure quickly approached. As he turned his head and saw the two just about to shout, Robert suddenly lunged forward with a knife.

"Randy!"

Robert shouted to confirm the identity.

Randy turned at the sound.

The blade gleamed, its tip pressing against Randy's chest.

"What are you doing?!" Randy's friend, who had driven him to the store, frowned and shouted.

Matt and Carl appeared, roughly pinning the friend down and pressing a gun to his waist, growling, "Say one more word, and you're dead."

"Come on, lower your head, get in the car," Robert shouted, pulling Randy.

Randy, completely unprepared, looked around in confusion and saw the person who had just tried to greet him.

"Angelo!" Randy shouted.

The figure in the distance saw that the people grabbing Randy had drawn weapons and instinctively took a few steps back before turning to run.

"Damn, he's running," Carl said, starting to chase.

"Don't chase him, come back," Robert shouted, eyes wide. "If he yells, the people from Glimmeridge will come out. Let's go."

Even if Robert hadn't shouted, Carl would have had a hard time catching the guy, given the distance and the fact that the other guy knew the area well.

"Get in the car, quick," Robert said, shoving Randy into the vehicle.

Carl turned back and jumped into the passenger seat.

Inside the car, the phone rang urgently. Robert, sweating, glanced at everyone and asked, "Whose phone is that?"

Randy, with his left arm pinned by Matt, reached into his pocket with his right hand and pressed a button, silencing the phone.

"It's Todd's phone," Matt said.

"Take it out, quickly," Robert urged, eyes wide.

At Randy's house.

Todd sat cross-legged on the bed, holding his phone and muttering, "Why did he hang up on me? What's going on?"
