Chapter 60 The Trench Coat and the Ponytail
Alex, under the guidance of the waiter, entered the three-story suite, glanced around, and then sat on the bed to take out his phone and send a text message.
Alex: [Boss, I’ve arrived and am ready to make contact with them.]
The other party quickly replied: [Okay!]
With permission granted, Alex dialed Eric's number and said, "Hello?"
"Hi, Alex," Eric, who had learned his name from several previous encounters, said, "We're at the Velvet Sky Club."
"Where are you?" Alex asked.
"In a private room on the second floor," Eric replied truthfully.
Alex licked his lips and sat in the dark room. After a pause, he said, "Come to Suite 09 on the third floor."
"Alright."
"Okay."
After finishing the conversation, Alex walked to the door and observed Suite 09 diagonally opposite through the peephole in the wooden door.
In the second-floor private room.
Eric pocketed his phone and immediately turned to Alexander and Andrew, saying, "He's here, on the third floor."
"Wasn't the meeting supposed to be in this room? Why did he suddenly go to the third floor?" Andrew frowned. "Is there something...?"
Before he could finish, Alexander pinched Andrew's wrist and looked up at the three girls, saying, "You all go out first."
Andrew fell silent upon hearing this.
Coco hesitated for a moment and then said to the other two girls, "Let's go out first and leave the gentlemen to handle business."
Alexander sat on the sofa, and after Coco and the others left, he said seriously, "We rushed here without a plan, and we don't know what kind of people we're dealing with. We must be cautious."
Hearing this, the two men pulled out the handguns they had bought along with the off-road vehicle from their waists, checked them, and then picked up their bags to distribute spare magazines.
The private room door suddenly opened, and Coco was stunned to see the three men fiddling with guns.
Alexander turned to the door. Looking coldly at Coco, he asked coldly, "Who let you in?"
"I... I left my purse on the sofa. You guys carry on. I'll come back for it later." Coco quickly closed the door.
Andrew glanced at the sofa, saw Coco's purse, and then turned back, saying, "Hurry up."
After getting ready, the three quickly left the private room and headed for the third floor.
Upstairs.
Alex's phone rang. He glanced at the number and was about to pick it up when he heard hurried footsteps outside.
In the corridor.
A young man wearing a long sheepskin trench coat, army green cargo pants, dirty boots, and a wide leather belt, with his hair tied in a ponytail, led four companions slowly toward Suite 09.
The man had a long face covered in a thick beard, sharp eyes, and a faint smile. He looked back at the corridor behind them and said, "They're here. Go."
As soon as he finished, his companions quickened their pace. Suddenly, shouting came from the direction of the second-floor stairwell.
"Joe Walker, I gave you all my money, and now you're treating me like this. What do you mean?"
"Sweetheart, don't act like a gambler, okay? I'm not God. I can't guarantee everyone makes money."
"Nonsense. You ruined me indeed!"
Hearing the shouting from the second-floor platform, the man on the left asked the man in a trench coat, "Shall we proceed?"
"Ignore it. Do your thing," the man in a trench coat replied still with his hands in his sleeves.
With that, the two men quickened their pace.
On the second-floor platform.
Three middle-aged men were arguing with three white men, yelling and reeking of alcohol.
Since the stairs to the third floor were narrow, the commotion blocked Alexander and his group from going up.
Seeing that the men were drunk and wouldn't stop arguing, Alexander pushed a white man aside, saying, "Move."
"You son of a bitch, do you know how expensive my suit is? Get lost!" the white man said arrogantly.
Andrew stepped forward, revealing his gun, and slapped the man across the face with his left hand, saying, "You're living in our neighborhood. Don't you know what it means to be low-key? Get out of the way!"
Seeing the gun, the white man was stunned.
Alexander pushed through the crowd, leading Andrew and Eric upstairs.
In less than ten seconds, the three reached the third-floor corridor. Just as they were about to follow the signs to Suite 09, they heard a door being kicked open to the left.
Alexander turned his head at the sound.
A gunshot rang out, echoing through the Velvet Sky Club.
"What's going on?" Eric instinctively reached for his waist.
Alexander quickly scanned the signs and realized the gunshots were coming from Suite 09.
At the same time, at the end of the corridor, Alex looked at the trench coat man in panic, saying, "You..."
The trench coat man pulled his right hand out of his sleeve and patted Alex's face with a smile, saying, "Are you excited to see me?"
"You!"
"Don't shout, or I'll kill you," the trench coat man said with a smile, pointing at Alex. He then gestured. "Let's go."
"There was a gunshot," a companion said and pointed at Alex, "This place has some connection to his boss."
The trench coat man, unfazed, brushed his ponytail and said, "Going through the front door is too much trouble. Jump out the window."
Hearing this, they quickly moved toward the window.
In the corridor.
After hesitating for a moment, Alexander started running, rounding two corners just in time to see Alex being dragged to the window.
Andrew, standing slightly behind, looked up at the scene and quickly shouted, "Alex."
After shouting, Andrew pulled Alexander to hide at the corner of the corridor.
At the window, Alex struggled and turned his head at the sound only to see the empty corridor. He shouted, "Help me."
As soon as he finished, the trench coat man dragged Alex and jumped out of the window.
At the corner of the corridor, Andrew came to his senses and said to Alexander, "It's over, Alex is in trouble."
Downstairs, the sound of hurried and dense footsteps echoed loudly.
Alexander rubbed his head and cursed, "Why does everything have to go wrong?"
"We need to save Alex, or our trip here will be in vain," Eric shouted with red eyes as he rushed to the window.
