Chapter 97 Finding Randy
Pine City was about 600 miles from Stardust City. If the light rail didn't encounter any extreme weather restrictions, the total travel time was just over three hours.
After Alexander, Andrew, and Matthew exited the station, they immediately contacted Robert.
"Hello?" Robert's voice came through as the call connected.
"Where are you?" Alexander asked.
"Just got the weapons, and I'm at Glimmeridge," Robert replied in a low voice, "I had Matt go in and check; Todd's friend isn't working the night shift today."
Alexander was taken aback. "That means he might have already met with Todd."
"Yes." Robert nodded. "I'm not leaving; I'll wait for him here."
"He probably won't show up tonight," Alexander quickly advised, "Why don't you come find us first? And we can discuss it."
"Discuss what? We don't have any other options right now; we have to catch Todd," Robert responded with a frown, "If this guy comes back to Glimmeridge in the middle of the night but I'm not here, we'll miss our chance. No need to discuss; I'll wait for him."
"Robert, you can't rush this. You came by light rail, and if you cause a commotion, you'll be easily tracked," Alexander nagged, "You need to stay calm."
"I know," Robert said after a moment of consideration. "But don't focus all your attention on me. If possible, you should try to find a shortcut on your end."
"How?" Alexander was puzzled.
"We don't have many connections here. We even had to ask friends of friends to buy a gun," Robert said bluntly, "But if you can find someone local with some influence to help us gather information in Glimmeridge, it would make things much easier."
"Gather information on Todd's friend?" Alexander asked.
"Yes." Robert nodded immediately. "Todd just arrived, so he might take a few days off to accompany him. I don't have a car here, so I can only wait outside. This method is slow and depends entirely on the other person's actions. But if you can find a local contact to help us find out where this guy usually stays, we won't have to wait like this."
Alexander responded with some difficulty, "Alright, I'll try my best. What's Todd's friend's name?"
"Randy Wright."
"Got it."
"Okay, let's leave it at that."
"By the way, Benjamin is here, too," Alexander reminded.
Robert was silent for a moment, then said with a hint of helplessness, "He still doesn't trust me. Oh well, he's here now."
"We'll get this done together."
"Thanks, Alexander," Robert said after a brief silence. "You've taken a lot of pressure from Samuel for me. If I get through this, I'll definitely repay you."
"Let's not talk about that now."
"Alright, talk to you later."
After a few more words, they ended the call.
At the station entrance.
Andrew looked at Alexander and asked, "What did Robert say?"
"Todd's friend isn't working the night shift tonight," Alexander replied, turning around. "Robert and Matt are waiting, but they don't know when this guy will return to Glimmeridge. So he wants us to find some local connections to gather information on this guy and see if we can get detailed info on Randy."
"Then we can only ask Samuel," Andrew said softly, "I don't have any connections in Stardust City."
"Should you call, or should I?" Alexander asked.
"You've already said it, so you obviously want me to call。" Andrew rolled his eyes.
"Then you call。" Alexander nodded.
After their discussion, Andrew stepped aside and dialed Samuel's number. Although Alexander and Matthew had some acquaintances in Pine City, they didn't dare contact them easily, as any leaked information could cause more trouble.
About ten minutes later, Andrew hung up and returned, looking at Alexander. "Samuel agreed to help."
"Good." Alexander glanced at his watch. "Let's head into the city, find a place to stay, and wait for Benjamin."
"Let's go."
Andrew nodded and followed Alexander towards the street.
On the light rail train.
Chris sat in a luxury compartment, sipping water when his assistant walked in.
"Chris, I found out that Todd's friend works at Glimmeridge and isn't on the night shift today," the assistant said, bending down.
Chris pondered for a moment and said, "Can you find out where this guy lives?"
"My contact is from another district and isn't familiar with Glimmeridge, so it's probably hard to find out." the assistant shook his head.
Chris thought for a moment and then took out his phone. "What's Todd's friend's name?"
"Randy Wright," the assistant replied.
Chris nodded and dialed Tyler's number.
"Hello?"
"Mr. Young, I need your help."
"Go ahead."
"Do you know Glimmeridge?" Chris asked.
"If you ask about any high-end entertainment venue in Stardust City, everyone knows me," Tyler responded with a smirk.
"That's great," Chris said immediately, "Can you help me find someone who works at Glimmeridge named Randy Wright? I need to know his address and basic information."
"Is he related to the drug line?" Tyler asked with a frown.
"Yes," Chris explained politely, "This guy is crucial for us to take down our competitor in Pine City. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother you."
"Alright, call me when you get here." Tyler hung up.
As the call ended, Chris's smile disappeared. "I've worked hard for over ten years, but a kid's words carry more weight than mine. Is this society fair?"
"He's just riding on his dad's coattails," the assistant flattered, "He can't compare to you."
"Even with just that one dad, I might not catch up in another ten years." Chris put down the phone, looked out the window in silence for a moment, and then suddenly asked, "What do you think Benjamin is doing now?"
The assistant was puzzled, not quite understanding.
Chris took out a pack of cigarettes, frowned in thought for a moment, and then said, "Come here, I need to give you some instructions."
"Go ahead, Chris."
"Call David and have him check the north station and the inspection checkpoints," Chris began instructing the assistant in a low voice.
In Stardust City.
As Alexander was about to hail a cab, Andrew suddenly called out from behind, "I just remembered something."
"What?" Alexander turned around.
"Isn't that girl back in Stardust City?" Andrew asked with bright eyes.
"You mean Emily?" Alexander was taken aback, suddenly remembering that Emily had indeed mentioned returning to Stardust City, and he had even asked her to buy makeup for Coco. "I haven't seen her for a few days; she should be back."
"Then we can ask her to find out about Randy," Andrew said excitedly, "Didn't you say her family has a strong background in Stardust City? Maybe someone in her circle can help us check."
Alexander was taken aback.
"I'll call her," Andrew said, pulling out his phone. "We need to try everything we can; anyone who can help is worth a shot."
On a certain street.
Emily, holding her phone, angrily asked, "Jesse Johnson, are you coming or not? I'm freezing to death here!"
