Chapter 98 Meeting with Emily

On the street, Andrew dialed Emily's number three times before finally getting through. "Hello? Beauty, who are you talking to?"

"Why did you suddenly contact me?" Emily asked, puzzled.

"I miss you, deeply and painfully."

"You're so shameless. Talk to me properly." Emily rolled her eyes.

Andrew chuckled and got to the point. "I need your help with something."

"Need my help? That's strange!" Emily was taken aback. "Let me make it clear first. If you want me to help you make fake news, that's impossible."

"It's not that."

"Then what is it?"

"I need to find someone in Stardust City who works at Glimmeridge," Andrew asked briefly, "Do you know this place?"

"Yes, I do." Emily nodded. "Glimmeridge is quite well-known in Stardust City."

"That's great," Andrew asked eagerly, "Do you have any acquaintances there who can help me find someone?"

Emily pouted. "I don't have any acquaintances there, and I don't gamble or look for women."

"Do you have any friends who go there often?" Andrew pressed on. "Can you ask them for me? We urgently need to find this person."

Emily blinked and thought for a while. "Is it to solve a case?"

"Not exactly. Someonepartnered with the Patrick family and got one of our friends involved. Now this guy has run to Stardust City to find his friend, and this person works at Glimmeridge. We had no choice but to follow him here," Andrew explained with a frown, "The drug issue is already a mess, and we can only clear it up by finding this guy."

Emily's eyes were confused. "What are you talking about? It's all jumbled, and I don't understand at all."

"It's very complicated and hard to explain over the phone."

"We?" Emily was taken aback and asked again, "Who are 'we'?"

"Me, Alexander, and Matthew are all in Stardust City, just around the station," Andrew responded casually.

Emily smiled. "Is Alexander here, too?"

"Yes, we all got dragged into this mess." Andrew nodded.

Emily bit her lip and thought for a while before responding softly, "Alright, come to Alias Club in an hour, and we'll talk in person. I don't go to Glimmeridge, but my brothers sometimes do, I can ask them for you."

"That's great. See you soon."

"Okay, see you soon."

With that, they ended the call.

Alexander stood by the roadside, hands in his pockets, and asked, "What did Emily say?"

Andrew looked at Alexander with a complicated expression and sighed. "Living close really has its advantages."

"What are you talking about?" Alexander was puzzled.

"I'll ask if there are any vacant rooms in Building 88 when we get back," Andrew replied with a sidelong glance.

Alexander was confused. "What do you mean? I don't get it."

"How did you become the team leader with that brain?" Matthew couldn't help but interject, "Don't you get it? Andrew called, Emily didn't agree, but when he mentioned you were here, she agreed to meet. Got it?"

"Oh, I see." Alexander nodded, pretending to be indifferent.

Andrew was annoyed by this and slapped Matthew on the head. "You talk too much, idiot."

The basic infrastructure and overall scale of Stardust City far surpassed Pine City.

Here, skyscrapers were everywhere, and transportation was convenient. Although it was already late at night, the main roads were still brightly lit, with vehicles rushing by. Near various government offices, there were patrolling officers, and on the surrounding streets, groups of young people could be seen walking around.

In short, although it couldn't compare to pre-disaster first-tier cities, it seemed much more peaceful and stable than Pine City. It was like a thriving teenager, with construction sites everywhere and constantly updated policies and development plans. Pine City, on the other hand, was like an old man on his deathbed, full of problems, struggling to change.

In the current era of extreme material scarcity, the special district government had to make choices and prioritize development. Resource allocation was inevitable, and with a better foundation, Stardust City was ten, even twenty years ahead of Pine City.

In Pine City, Alexander rarely saw taxis because there were less than 30 legally operating cars in the entire city. These were purchased with special funds to improve transportation, but it was futile. The cars were too expensive for individuals to afford, so the scale couldn't grow.

Stardust City was much better. The special district government contracted this out to several large companies, supporting them through other projects. Although the companies didn't make much money from this, they were willing to improve the city's transportation for goodwill. Although the prices were still exorbitant, at least taxis were available.

The three of them, in a hurry to get to Alias Club, had to take a taxi.

Sitting in the car, Alexander looked at the skyscrapers and the still-lit office buildings and sighed. "This is a place for people to live."

"Of course." Andrew nodded with a smile, "The special district government and the United Government are both doing their best to support Stardust City. It's definitely a place for people to live."

After pondering for a while, Alexander added, "If this is a place for people, then what is the planning area for?"

With that, Andrew and Matthew fell silent.

At the border checkpoint between Pine City and Stardust City.

A shabby SUV stopped by the roadside, and two armed soldiers approached.

"Documents," one soldier said indifferently.

The driver inside the car took out several Pine City residence permits and handed them over through the lowered window.

The soldier glanced at the documents and paused for a full minute on the third one before asking, "What are you going to Stardust City for?"

"My uncle needs to see a doctor," the driver replied with a smile.

"Get out, I need to check." the soldier gestured.

Benjamin, who had specially disguised himself, hesitated for a moment before getting out of the car.

After a thorough inspection lasting about ten minutes, the soldier, finding no contraband, waved them through. "You can go, next vehicle."

Five minutes later, Benjamin called Alexander, "I passed the checkpoint, entering Stardust City soon."

"Okay, come to Alias Club when you get here," Alexander instructed.

The light rail train sped along.

Chris stood by the window, gazing at the endless snowy landscape, and asked in a hoarse voice, "Are you sure?"
