Chapter 208 Revenge from the Top-notch Bandit Group
In front of the small courtyard near Sunset Street, Enrique hid behind the wall and asked David, "They're inside, right?"
"Yeah," David nodded. "My guys saw Joe and Leon go in. They've been watching from the alley. No one's come out."
Enrique turned to his crew, "Don't touch Leon, but trap everyone else inside and kill them."
Everyone nodded.
"Kick the door open," Enrique ordered.
Two big guys moved to the door and kicked it open with two thuds.
David cocked his gun and rushed in first. "Everyone, head for the main house!"
Over twenty people, armed with knives and guns, charged towards the main house.
Outside the courtyard, Adam stood among the crowd, lighting a cigarette while seven or eight people whispered around him.
"Adam, let me go in and check," Milton, in a trench coat, said eagerly.
"Stay put," Adam snapped. "This isn't your job."
"Okay," Milton nodded obediently.
At the main house's front door, two gunshots rang out. David kicked the door open, shouting, "Everyone get on your knees!"
Outside, Adam heard the shout and smiled. "They're in, it's started."
Inside, David's crew rushed in with their guns, but the living room was empty. The lights were on, and there was a table with leftover food, but no one was there.
"David, something's wrong," the young leader said. "Why is no one here?"
Outside, Enrique was stunned, then shouted, "Fall back!"
"Let's go," the young leader called out, moving outside.
Suddenly, a metallic clink was heard. A grenade rolled on the floor.
The young man's face changed. "Damn, a grenade!"
A muffled explosion shook the house, shattering light bulbs and filling the air with screams.
Outside, Adam was stunned. "They're using grenades now?"
At the alley entrance, Bishop, with a shiny bald head and a large-caliber shotgun, cocked it and limped towards Adam.
"Go check it out," Adam, looking panicked, told the middle-aged man beside him.
"Adam, someone's coming," Milton said, seeing Bishop approach with a gun.
"Fuck, we might not be as good as you at living off women, but in a fight, even three Adams are useless," Bishop shouted, raising his gun. "Time for revenge!"
Four masked men rushed out from the alley opposite.
"Protect Adam!"
The middle-aged man grabbed Adam and drew his gun. Bishop didn't flinch, just raised his shotgun and fired, taking down two or three people with one shot. Blood splattered on Adam's face before he could react.
"Adam, get inside!" Milton panicked, pulling Adam towards the courtyard.
The four big guys lined up, advancing and firing. Adam and his crew had no cover and no time to draw their guns, so six or seven of them got taken down.
Pale and stumbling, Adam backed up to the door, yelling, "Joe and the others are outside, everyone get out!"
Inside the house, the grenade went off, injuring three or four people with shrapnel. Amidst the chaos, they heard gunfire outside.
At the door, David shouted, "Don't panic! There's gunfire outside too. If you can still move, get out!"
Hearing David, everyone pulled themselves together and rushed out of the main house with their guns. Enrique ran to the door and helped Adam. "Everyone else, turn around and fight back!"
Gunfire erupted. Just as Adam was about to enter the courtyard, he got shot in the right leg and fell into Enrique's arms. Enrique, holding Adam with his left arm and firing back with his right, shouted, "Get out, there aren't too many of them!"
Bishop, hiding behind a trash can at the courtyard entrance, reloaded his gun and shouted into his earpiece, "Throw grenades into the courtyard!"
The four big guys took a few steps back, pulled the pins on their grenades, and tossed them into the courtyard. Seconds later, four explosions went off. David, hiding by the wall, watched in shock as bricks and stones flew, and his fellas fell like wheat being cut, their screams filling the air.
"You cover me, I'll kill him," Bishop, eyes red, raised his gun and charged into the courtyard.
"Don't be reckless!" the leader of the big guys shouted, "Joe said to follow the plan. Whether he's dead or not, we have to leave immediately."
Bishop ignored the shout and kept moving towards the courtyard.
The leader shouted again, "Remember how Rodolfo got caught? It was because he didn't follow orders."
Hearing this, Bishop stopped in his tracks.
Meanwhile, at the Black Street District police station, a young officer asked, "What did you say? An explosion? On Sunset Street? Got it."
"They're using grenades. Hurry up, I have kids and elderly at home," the man who called 911 shouted in panic from under a table.
Two minutes later, Andrew led his team down the stairs quickly. "Notify the nearest units to Sunset Street, get there immediately, hurry!"
On Main Street, Joe licked his chapped lips, opened the car door, and shouted without looking back, "Let's go."
As he finished speaking, three companions got out of the car, each carrying a large black bag.
Inside a room, William, holding a phone, asked Raymond, "Raymond, do you have something to tell me? Are you still there?"
"Yes."
"I'm coming to find you," Raymond replied after a moment of silence.
