Meredith's POV
"It's fine," I said interrupting Williamson, I knew what he wanted to say, so I turned my gaze back to the female, I still didn't know her name, and the only thing I know is that she was my mate. "go with Austin?"
"Why Austin? I could bring her home, I know Logan needs you and Austin." Riley said and wanted to pull her hand but I swatted his hand from her while I growled.
"Don't touch her," her eyes snapped to me, I could feel the tension in her face and body movement, my constant growling was affecting her, 'fuck me, I am scaring her,' I said mentally before clearing my throat.
"I am sorry, I know you could find your way, but please you should let Austin take you home."
"I could care for myself, I don't need a bodyguard," she snarled at me, I know she could care for herself, I saw her kick the ass of that naughty Ethan, who called himself Akira's ex but I wasn't feeling my skin, with the way Riley is raking her body with his eyes, she was in baggy clothes but that didn't change the fact that she is beautiful and Riley being Riley always love female, anything with a hole.
"You see, the beauty doesn't need a guard," Riley's irritating voice came up, and I couldn't hold myself, my hand went to his chest suddenly, pushing him hard and he staggered behind.
"Stay the fuck away from her, I told you," I growl, this time, she flinches, it wasn't just her expression that was showing she was scared and her body was as well.
'Meredith, what the fuck is wrong with you? Why are you acting possessive?' Gamma Austin invaded my head, and I dropped my ball fist I was about to hit him, was it me or my wolf losing control, he had surged forward wanting to stake our claim, I am not doing this.
'Nothing is wrong with me, tell him to back off or I will come at him.' my words were bitter and my voice was husky, anger surged me and I wanted to snap his neck off his body.
'oh mine, she is your mate,' gamma Austin's voice was in my head but his expression was on his face. 'Is she? Fuck the goddess must be playing a fast one on you two, the alpha and the beta fated to a human girl, a fucking...' I growl, before he can take the last words liability, I know it wasn't going to be easy having a pack to protect and a mate to protect, I am not having that, I have so many responsibilities, throwing my mate in it will be tiring, so I will have to let go of my mate.
'stop talking nonsense take her away from here,' I shut the mind-link, not wanting to hear any more words from his mouth, before my eyes moved to Riley, "Come with me,"

"Now?" I growled, interrupting him before I gave one last glance at the female, turning to leave her voice came up.
"Is Logan alright?" my wolf whimpered in my head, hearing her refer to him on a first-name basis.
"It's Al... CEO Logan..."
"I know he is an alpha, a wolf, you don't have to remind me that I couldn't call him Logan," she scoffed and I found her irritation amused and joy creep in my heart, she knows we are werewolves and she is not bothered, she would have been a perfect mate, I don't have to explain things to her but unfortunately, we can't be together.
"Good, you should call him Alpha Logan when you are in this circle," Austin's eyes shifted to me and I saw him chuckle, my action amused him, I was already welcoming her into our circle even when I knew there was no future for us. I turned feeling embarrassed at my action, Riley and I were darting upstairs already when her sweet voice came up.
"What should I call you then? If he is Austin and he is Riley, what is your name?" Her voice turned me on, the heat in my body increased, and blood flowed to my genitalia, I tilted my head to her, and she gnaw her lower lips, avoiding my gaze while fidgety with the hem of her oversized t-shirt, I tilted my head from her, staring at her was giving me dirty thought, picturing things I want to do to her in the bathroom, basement, rooftop, my room and every fucking corner of my house but I shouldn't, I am a beta and my loyalty to the pack comes first, pack before anything else.
I didn't tell her my name, I darted upstairs, I could see her from my peripheral vision, she was disappointed and embarrassed, I didn't mean to hurt her but I had to do this, it's bad enough, Austin the detective had found out that she is my mate, even though I didn't admit it, I know Austin doesn't need me to confirm it and now my arousal is building up, it wouldn't take long before the air filled with it. There will be no hiding place. I heard footsteps, I knew it was her, she turned around and left, it was when she was at the door that was when I realized that her shoe size was small and the shoe she was wearing was a female shoe, not a male's.
She was small compared to my side, yet my wolf thought she was perfect for us, I pushed her thoughts from my head and darted into the room where Alpha Logan was, he was having an attack, that was what Williamson was about to tell me when I interrupted him. I told Williamson to inject him with the blood of those deer we killed in the forest, for some time, a deer's blood was what could calm him but that doesn't mean, it's his cure.
He was already calm when Riley and I walked into the room, I looked at him, the blood was almost exhausted but he was still not moving, "stop worrying about him? He would be fine," it was Riley, my gaze moved to him. "Yeah, the alpha will be fine, you shouldn't be so uptight because the alpha is going to die in a year even if we do everything," I growl he raises his hand in surrender. "sorry... but you and I..."
"Riley stop," I growl, he raises his hand for the second time but his loud mouth and its naughty wolf can not keep quiet.
"Meredith, the young lady, are you interested in her or do you just want to fuck her? If you are done with her, you could pass her to me." My eyes bulge, his words didn't go down well with me, I growl pinning him to the wall
