Chapter 139
Akira's POV
"Who is it Akira?" Vida asked while I heard her step from behind me, I pulled the door wider revealing the face of our visitor.
"Oh!" Vida murmured
"Hi!" He said awkwardly and Vida nudged me, that was when I realized that my face had crumpled knowing that it wasn't Wolfie who was here but Meredith. I was disappointed, although it was just a day, not seeing Wolfie, I was missing him like it was forever.
"Hi!! I force a weird smile, "What are you doing here and where is Wolfie?" I asked in rolled, he forced a smirk before he parted his lips fighting hard not to look at Vida who was beside me, even though he was doing a great job ignoring her and Vida wasn't saying anything to him, his eyes were betraying him because they keep wondering towards her now and then as he was practically checking her out.
"Logan said I should check on you if you arrived home safe yesterday."
"As you can see, I did, he would have just called instead of sending you here," I said smiling at him.
"His phone is bad and he is kind of busy..." My gaze narrowed, if his phone was bad, getting a new one wouldn't be a problem and he could use his landline or even Meredith's phone to call instead of making him come over. "And you have nothing to worry about, he is fine and he didn't want you to worry about him that is the reason he sent me here and he said you could take the day off, that you might probably be tired from your..." His words were interrupted by the sound of an approaching vehicle, Meredith cock his head backward while his gaze focus on the car.
My eyes and Vida's eyes move in that direction.
This car? I think I have seen it before but I know it's not Casper, and if he was, he would have called before coming here. The door finally opens revealing the face of Roe.
"Wow! It's the handsome gladiator." Vida said in excitement and my eyes moved to Meredith, having a clutched jaw, then my eyes tilted to Vida, nudging her to stop because I could already hear a low growl erupting from Meredith's throat.
I don't think he likes the sound of Vida's voice and the declaration that Roe is handsome. "Sorry..." She murmured not even knowing what she was apologizing for.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked as he stood in front of us.
"Hello! I was thinking I could meet my cousin officially and probably invite her for a treat," my lips form a zero while my gaze moves from Meredith to Roe. "I didn't know that you were having a visitor but I could wait, we could always leave when he is gone or he could tag along," Roe said ruffling his hair before his hand went to his pocket.
That was when I realized I hadn't even introduced both of them.
"Oh! Meredith meets my cousin Roe, and Roe meets my friend Meredith." He smiled and stretched out his hand to Meredith.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Meredith," He said.
"The pleasure is all mine, Mr Roe." They both exchanged pleasantries before his eyes returned to me.
"I guess you have met Vida, my best friend before, you two don't need an introduction." He smiled nodding to affirm my words, I noticed Meredith was a little bit skeptical, with the way his brows hiked, I could tell he was having doubts if my cousin or Vida weren't crushing on each other.
"Yes, we have, so what do you think about my proposal." Pulling my attention back to our conversations. I didn't know how to reply to him. "I heard Aunty took you out last night, and I wasn't included, so I was hoping that you and I could have mine, and we could get a nice wear for the dinner, grandpa is dying to meet you and your friends are also invited."
"Really? I could come with her?" Vida asked with a voice laced with excitement.
"Yes, you can..."
"Thank you, handsome..." Meredith cleared his throat was he clearing his throat or growling? I thought I heard one of those when Vida referred to Roe as handsome, and I sniggered. There goes an interesting show cooking up between these two. I guess I could watch one while Wolfie is nowhere in sight.
"Please don't say no." His eyes reflected pleading.
"Akira, please say yes." She pulled my arms.
"Fine, I will just get dressed, since my generous boss gave me a day off," I murmured, I could see that smug grin on Roe's face.
"I will wait here," he said, I pulled Vida's hand so we could go inside when Meredith's voice came up.
"I will go with you girls." My eyes snapped to him, "I know he is your cousin but I don't want Logan to have my head on a plate for leaving you without protection..." I squinted, knowing Meredith wasn't saying this because of me, but Vida.
"What are you now? A bodyguard?" Vida's voice was low and irritating.
"What did you say?" Meredith asked.
"It's nothing, we will just get dressed," I said, pulling Vida into the apartment. "Can you stop showing everyone how a feisty lady you are? For once act like a girl, if you don't want me to call you, a..." She glared at me, knowing my next words.
"Fine, I am not going to do that again." She pouted, while she winked at me. I just shake my head, Vida will always be Vida. Feisty and playful. "I will fetch you something to wear for today's outing," Vida said rummaging my small luggage in the room. "We need to make sure it's something chic, yet comfortable, you know it's your first date with your cousin and you wouldn't want to look tacky." I look at Vida which never stops to amaze me, with the way she picks and pairs those clothes, one would have thought she is a stylist. She laid each one and also matched it with jewelry and various pairs of shoes, those stuff that Wolfie bought for me
Vida was back again with the proper etiquette and how I should act in public, I smirked pushing her head. "Stop acting like I am going on a prom date, it's just Roe and I would rather dress myself and you should wear a gown." I pick one of those gowns and throw it to her, she is not wearing one of those baggy clothes today so I slip into one of those gowns that Wolfie single-handedly picks for me.
"Why do I have to wear a gown?" Her brows furrow, picking the gown, I throw at her.
"It's because we are going with the CEO of Shan group, and you know we need to fit into his standard or don't you want to go?" I asked and she signed before she grabbed the gown and slipped into it.
I know this is going to be trouble, I could tell my cousin had a thing for Vida without being told and Meredith, I think Vida is his mate but he is trying to fight it just as Wolfie, so if they are mates, I could push him a bit into the jealousy line.
Vida had never dressed up, even when we worked at Lady Cassandra's bar but today I am going to make her dress like a female.
She grumbled but had no choice but to wear, it since she didn't want to be left behind. She slipped into the cherry gown, it was a bodice gown. The bodice hoped her breasts up till they rested firmly on her chest, she wasn't that busty type, but she had round full attractive breasts.
I watch as the gown cupped every curved part of her body, Vida is beautiful with just the gown on her. It hangs just above her knees, I watch her tug the gown trying to pull it down. "stop doing that." I said pulling her hand.
"Don't you think this is too much?" She asked, I shook my head.
"Nothing is too much, you are not even wearing makeup, nor is your hair down. neither are you wearing those heel shoes." I laid out all the things that I think would have made her super beautiful but I didn't push further.
When we were both down, we got our phones and walked out of the door. I pulled the door, Vida was still battling with her wears beside me when I noticed Meredith was dumbstruck, staring at Vida while his phone was pressed against his ear while Roe's lips dropped and he murmured.
"Beautiful..." And Meredith's gaze tilted to Roe, glaring at him with gritted teeth and fist.
Let the show begin.
