Chapter 134

Akira's POV
A couple of minutes Meredith appeared at my place and drove me to Casper's company, in another couple of minutes, we arrived at the company of Casper
This was the first time, I came to Casper's company, his company is as big as his Mansion, and I visited while attending the auction. I wondered how wealthy Alphas are, to have such a massive building.
The features are similar to Wolfie's with just some slight changes. My eyes scanned the surroundings as I took a mental note of how the place looked. I waited beside Meredith, who was closing the door. The ride here wasn't a quiet one because Meredith didn't stop talking about Vida and for some reason, Vida didn't want to see me to the door earlier when he arrived at our apartment. He was asking things about Vida almost everything except the part if she had a boyfriend or not.
"Should I wait here or come back once you are done?" Meredith asked. I run my hand on my forearm, I am feeling nervous already.
"If it's not too much you could wait but if you have something else to do, you could leave and I will call you when I am done." He shakes his head.
"I will just wait here, I don't want the alpha to have my head on a tray for putting his Luna in danger. If you want I could go inside with you..." I force a chuckle.
"No, you don't have to, I will handle it."
"If you say so but if anything comes up, just try reaching Wolfie through your emotions or the phone." I look at him confused. "He will feel it if you are worried and he will know if ever something went wrong, so just try your best not to be too emotional so he doesn't get the wrong signal." I nodded to him while I walked into the company.
As soon as I approached the door, it gave way and I walked through it, my heart was echoing alongside my heels tapping the marble floor. I tried to reduce my step, the more I am conscious of it, the more it increases, "don't worry about it, my lady." A deep baritone voice came from the far left and I raised my head and looked at the bearer. It's a handsome man, he should be in his teens, he looks too young to be a young adult, his eyes were captivating and his smile was contiguous.
"Sorry, I think it's making a hell of a noise" I force a smile.
"Probably your heartbeat mixed with it." I gave a forced smile, not knowing how to respond to that, I am not used to talking to strangers. He probably noticed my uneasiness and he introduced himself. "My bad, my name is Alonso... Alonso Nikolai, Casper's..." He paused. "His assistant."
"Akira Ross, I am..."
"I know who you are, anyways nice to meet you." He takes my hand in his still having that smug grin, "You are a beauty, Logan seems to have eyes for good things." Those words were more for himself but I managed to hear them.
That was all Alonso said before he led me into the office of Casper, I was expecting the type where chairs and desks would be displayed in the middle of the room not too far from the window but it's all different, it's like a building where one stays. "The alp..." He paused and I smirked.
"You don't have to hide it from me, I know he is a wolf and an Alpha, so you are his Beta or what?" I asked to make the atmosphere a little lighter for the both of us. He shrugged his shoulder before he smiled pulling a glass from the shelf and pouring wine into the glass.
"Yes, I am his beta, and you are Alpha Logan's mate?"
"Yes, and I am human," I said and I noticed his eyes flicker before they went normal almost before I could read those emotions in them. I couldn't tell if he was feeling sorry for me or admiring me.
"I will leave you, just make yourself comfortable the Alpha will be here soon." This time, he didn't hide the fact that they were wolves, I nodded to him while I watched him walk out of the mini suit.
I had been sitting there all alone for close to ten minutes, and my fingers were inching to call Wolfie, it was unlike him not to call or check on me, for more than thirty minutes and this was going to be an hour since we last talked. Just when I decided to call him to ease my tension. I heard footsteps and cracking of the door and footsteps walking towards me. My heart began to thud loudly in my chest and it was like it was about to jump through my mouth the sound was unbearable to my ear drum
I couldn't contain my fear anymore, my heart was racing too fast and then I remembered Meredith's words, I should learn to control my emotions so as not to send the wrong message to Wolfie. 'relax Akira... Breathe... She is just a female like you... Your mother...' I was chanting those words in my head and I didn't notice that footsteps were coming behind me.
"Akira..." My body jolted up from the couch and I tilted without warning staring at the culprit.
"Shit Casper, you scared life out of me." I clutched on my chest.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to, but what the heck are you thinking you were lost and you didn't hear me calling." I wiped the beads of sweat forming on my forehead. I watch as Casper's gaze drops and his concerned voice is enough to show that he didn't mean to frighten me.
"Don't give my actions a thought just got carried away," I murmured and I noticed how his eyes scanned my body before they rested on my face.
I didn't give his actions a thought, I was busy staring at the door, or any openings that someone could use to get into this place where I was sitting, I couldn't even call it an office because it's comfortable like an apartment.
"Thanks for the drink, I met your beta."
"Alonso?" He asked and I nodded to him. "Hope he didn't give you a hard time? The young man doesn't know how to conduct himself around humans."
"No, he didn't, he was okay," I said giving him a sheepish smile.
"That being said, did anyone tell you..." My eyes moved to him and my heart palpitations increased again, he smiled. "Relax, I was only going to say how gorgeous you look." He said and I breathed out, I didn't realize I was holding my breath, with the mere mention of his first words.
I heard another cracking of the door and a clearing of the throat before I could reply to the compliment of Casper.
Maybe, I was still doubting the DNA even when I saw her a little bit closer. That didn't do justice to my judgment, my eyes roved around her face, and staring at her at hand length gave me the perfect picture.
Starting from her eyes, nose, facial expressions, her hair, name it. It was a complete compatibility.
I wasn't the only one amazed at what my eyes were feasting on. She too was overwhelmed and I saw her eyes slowly drop from my face to my neck and my hands instinctively raised to my neck.
"I am..."
She interrupted me, closing the gap between us, "It's you, my daughter ... My Nadine."
