Logan's POV
"Tell me what?" Her voice came out low from behind and her eyes bulged, staring at Akira.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, I remember telling her that I would give this place the final touch, to prepare for our wedding but I didn't tell her to come here, I told her when I was done, I would meet her at the manor since she is staying at her mother's now.
"Oh! It's getting late, I thought probably I could meet you up Midway, so you don't have to drive that long before we could go for our last night of party of dropping the single title and getting the official mate title." She giggles, I let out a weak smile taking two big strides towards her.
"Sure, let's go." I pulled Akira''s wrist waiting to get away, fast from there but I knew it wouldn't take long before my knees would give me away.
"Take care Meredith, or would you like to join us, Vida will be..."
"No, he is not coming and we are moving out of the country after the wedding." My words hit her.
"What? Why? Did you..."
"No, I just don't feel comfortable here anymore and the company will be fully run by Meredith and Austin when I am gone." Her eyes squinting.
"Are you okay? Did you get news about the cute?" My eyes bulged when she asked that. Yeah! I told her, there was a league about the cure but I didn't tell her was the cure.
"No..."
"Yes..." My voice and Meredith's voice came up at the same time, I glared at him. Akira's eyes move from me to him.
I cleared my throat, grabbing Akira''s wrist. "stop talking nonsense we are leaving."
She swatted her hand away from me, as her gaze was now focused on Meredith. "Can you two tell me what is going on?"
"We found the cure and Wolfie is not..."
"Shut your fucking mouth up..." I growled at Meredith, trying to let out an alpha command on him but the fucking thing is not working. I took a step towards Meredith before I could get to him and grabbed his collar, Austin was already between us, I had no idea, how he showed up there.
"Can you calm down and let's discuss this like civilized people." It was Austin who spoke and Vida moved forward. "Let's be civil..."
"Did you just say civilized people?" I scoffed letting out a forceful laughter. My gaze shifted between my ex-beta and gamma. While Akira was all lost, staring at me and my actions, I guess I was terrifying him because he hadn't seen this part of me before. "Do civilized people drink blood? I have lived all my life for the pack for you two, for my family, I had no such words, as self in my dictionary, I make sure no harm comes to you all and all you could do was reciprocate those same gestures toward me, and the woman. I love. But what do I get from you, from my mother? All of you want to push her into harm, you don't care about her, you want to use her as a means to an end."
"What the fuck are you saying? You know, I cared about her, I have always been rooted for her safety." I shook my head against Meredith's words.
"No, you all her selfish, you want me to bite her, drink her blood drain every blood from her vein." My eyes were already teary. "For what? Just to save me? Yet, you don't care about the damage it would have on her. You don't fucking care, if she ended up dead provided, your supposed beloved alpha is saved. What about my pup growing in her? What about her? Isn't this being selfish?"
"Don't say that Alpha..." Austin's voice was low. "You know that is not going to happen, she is the prophetess and she is..."
"Enough..." I growl, cutting him off. Wanting to take Akira''s hand, she swatted it away now her gaze was focused on Meredith to finish every damn word that is left in his throat.
"Tell me now and I am not leaving here without hearing everything."
My hand reached for her face, cupping her face, while I let my expression soften. "There is nothing to know about whatever bullshit they have to tell you. All you need to know is that I am the only one who cares about you while the others are just a bunch of bloodsuckers that doesn't care about you and only want you around to save me. But not to worry, we will live the remaining days of our life in peace, those weeks left, I will make sure you get everything you need. "
"And then what?" Meredith's voice came up. "You will leave her for the rest of her life, to care for a pup alone when you could get the cure, if not the cure, her blood could sustain you." My gaze averted to Meredith who couldn't keep his mouth shut, no matter how hard I growled let out an Alpha command, the bastard was spilling that rubbish that, Akira's blood was my cure.
"Who the fuck gave you the right to meddle in my business." I bawl at him, as I rushed to him, punching him on his face.
"Can you stop right now," Austin growled at me, and I heard a soft sob from behind. My gaze moves to Akira.
"Is it true, I am the prophetess you have been looking for and my blood could help you?" Her voice was low, I know she wouldn't think twice before giving in, that is the reason I didn't want it. I will put her in danger and not just her but also Vida.
I know Meredith wouldn't forgive me if anything happened to Vida.
"It doesn't matter, we are leaving, let's enjoy the last week in peace with you in my arms."
"I don't want just one week with you, I want to spend the longest time with you, I want you beside me when we have our child, I want you beside me when we have our grandchild, I don't want to experience being a mother and grandmother without you, I want to share this memory with you..."
"Akira... I thought you were okay with that?"
"I was but not anymore, not when I had what to keep you with me longer."
"Akira..."
"How can he drink from me?" She asked.
"Not one more word, or will dig my claws into your throat."
"Wolfie, what are you so mad at? This is the best news ever, we could get to stay longer in each other arms and I want that, even if I had to give, mine in exchange for..."
"Akira stop..." I cut her off.
"Why you don't think my blood will be tasteful?" I run my hands on my hair, what is this woman thinking, of course, her blood has always been tasteful, and the last time, I bit her, I wanted to drill every blood from her vein.
"Of course not, your blood has always been tasteful but I can't do that to you, I can't keep biting you, and drinking directly from you."
"Why because you think I will die?"
"Stop talking nonsense, I love you and can't bear to lose you."
"The same way, I can't bear to lose you. Do you know the fear and pain growing in my heart, these past three days that I found out that you are dying and that I am lost, every second and I wanted to stop time, especially with your twentieth birthday coming up." I threw my head to the sky, as my tears were already falling.
"What if it doesn't work and I keep biting you?" My voice came out low.
"We wouldn't know, if we don't try and I wouldn't mind, having your bite covered all over my body, I love those hickeys."
"Akira..." I couldn't remember the number of times, I had called out her name in frustration.
She smirked, wrapping her arms around my waist. "when are we trying? This night? At the shower? Rooftop? Under the moon or in the forest?" My eyes bulged, parting my lips to say something but her lips slammed against mine, stopping my words. "I love you Wolfie and I will do anything to keep you safe, just let me do it, please don't say no." Her tears wet my chest and I couldn't bear the pain in my head watching her tears wet my shirt, made me want to try but I hope I don't hurt her in the end.
