Chapter 040
Logan's POV
I stared at the fucking wall clock for the umpteenth time, Akira hasn't shown up and it was past 8.
I couldn't even concentrate on a document, everything is fucking messed up with me, since last night when I told her off, I felt a part of me died and I fucking have to look for that part.
I was pacing in my office, Meredith was looking at me, "fuck..." I growled when I stared through the window and I hadn't seen her shadow in the garage.
"What's up with the pacing?"
"I need those fucking files and Akira, did she forget she has a job?" I growl, I just felt uneasy, and the thought that she might not want to come back to the office after those words I said to her last night rattled me.
'Now you are looking for her? Are you missing her?' my wolf speaks in my head.
'Let me be...'
'how can I when you are acting like some high school lover that couldn't even stay a second without his crush,'
'shut your fucking mouth...' I growl at my wolf and when my eyes snapped to Meredith, he was focused on me.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I growl at him as he raises his hand in the air. I sighed is like the goddess is fucking messing up with me and she is enjoying every fucking thing about it.
"I will just go to my office..."
"Did you drop Akira at her place last night as I asked you to do?" He tilted his head to me, "did you?"
"I didn't..."
"You did what?" I growl grabbing his shirt but Meredith smirks.
"Go slow, this is human territory, not wolf territory, so stop acting feral, and overly Possessive over your mate." I shut my eyes moving my hand from his shirt. "She is your mate right?" I twitched my lips, "You don't need to tell me, this reaction is caused by the mate bond and why the fuck are you pushing her away..."
"She is a human, what will I be doing with a human girl? No fangs, no claws, no wolf..." I scoffed, "Humans are pathetic and they are weaker than omega, what will I do with that, she can't be my Luna, not even a bleeder. Shit... Riley will mock me and my stupid uncle will not think twice than to rub it in my face, that I got a weakling for a mate, after getting a curse..." Meredith stares at me. "What?" I growl.
"I don't get you, what does she being a human girl without all these things got to do with your uncle and cousins, you have your own life to live, your mate is your personal affair, not the Pack..."
"Meredith stop, I can't be with a human girl, I am not some regular wolf, I got my Pack and I am fucking dying, so this is the best, me staying away from her, till I take a chosen is all that I will do..."
"Fine, suit yourself don't go haywire when you see her with another male like Casper..."
"She wouldn't dare go out with Casper, I will kill her," I growl.
"Make up your fucking mind and don't go acting like a beast in front of her because she had no idea that beasts like us existed," Meredith said as he walked out of my office, I too walked out when another thirty minutes extra added to her time, I could no longer wait, I walked to Mrs. Mariam.
"Sir Logan..." She acknowledges me before staring at me.
"Did you by chance get any information from my assistant that she is not going to be at work today or something?" I asked, Mrs. Mariam shook her head as she had that cunning smile on her lips.
"No, but I think she should be a bit late but she will come," I nodded as I paced around the hallway, "do you need anything from her?" She asked, I shakes my head and return to my office, just that moment, I saw a car drive into the garage, and I narrowed my gaze, I know that car, "Casper, what the fuck is he doing here?" I growled, as I clenched my fist, and my eyes were focus on his car, I watched him get down from the driver's seat and move to open the passenger door.
And there goes my Akira in the hands of another male, I glared at Casper, my wolf whimpered in my head when his hand moved to her back.
I turned on my wolf hearing so I could hear what they were saying, "Thanks for the right, and sorry for making you late." Akira said.
"It's fine..." He smiled like some idiot. "Should I pick you up after closing?" He asked, I glared at him but she shook her head, 'good, if not, she would stand him up for the second time since he doesn't want to learn,' I murmured inwardly.
"I might be working late, so no need, we could meet during the weekend." She said before finally bidding him goodbye. I rolled my eyes, she didn't know there would be no weekend for her. 'She will work her ass out.' I said mentally. Casper just nodded and then went back to his car and zoomed off, I stood there waiting for her to get into the main building. She grabbed her hair and tie it in a ponytail. 'fuck... She looks gorgeous with her hair down.' I curse mentally, shutting my eyes when I battered my lashes, she was right in Riley's hand, 'Fuck this girl, how could she always be attracting everyone around her...' I growl, I don't think I have a mental note of how many times, I have growl today and I swear, if it were in my pack, I would have let out my wolf and ravaged all this male.
"Hey, careful beautiful..." Riley said before balancing her and his hand moved slowly from her waist.
"Sorry, I didn't see you coming, and thanks for helping." She said.
"Oh it's fine, I am Riley Lucas and you are?"
"Akira Ross..."
"Oh, I almost thought that you are related to Amelia Hart, you look like the Hart." She smiled, shaking her head, it was when Riley said that I kind of see the similarity between her and Amelia, but I don't think Amelia had a child, that could be as grown as this female in front of us.
"Of course not, I am just a girl."
"Not just a girl, a beautiful girl, so what are you doing here..."
"Fuck, I am late." She cursed, leaving Riley behind, she hurried up, 'Did she just realize she had work, I am going to make her suffer for flirting with Casper when she is supposed to be working.' I said mentally.
"Good morning sir Logan..." She said as soon as she pulled the door to my office, my eyes bulged.
"What did you just call me?" I asked and then the door of my office cracked open, distracting me and Akira, she tilted her head to the door, just as my gaze was focused on the door.
"Hey beautiful, what are you doing here?"
"I work..."
"Get to your office..." I yelled at her and she hurried to her section while Riley's eyes followed her.
"Wow, no one tells me that my cousin has some cute little thing in his office, is she your new assistant..."
"Get your eyes off her, she is mine..."
