Chapter 153
Akira's POV
Two weeks had already passed by like the wind when Wolfie gave me the rejection and ended everything with me. Two weeks of hell.
These weeks haven't been easy, seeing Wolfie every day and not being able to hold his hand, hug him, or even get his awkward smile but I am fine seeing him each morning without any of those and from afar.
I couldn't forget the next morning when I woke up at my apartment and Vida walked in seeing how devastated I was, her lips dropped and concern reeked her. I know she wanted to reprimand me for leaving her with Meredith but seeing my condition, she aborted all her anger towards me and gave me a shoulder to cry on.
She has been a sister not just a friend, she has even asked me to stop working with Wolfie and focus on reuniting with my family and if I desperately needed a job I could ask my mother or great-grandfather to get me one, or even Casper and Roe, they could help me but I don't think I want to stop breathing the same air with Wolfie for now, even when the air was already choking me, seeing Wolfie and his girlfriend, popping up from every corner of the office and company wasn't easy for me.
If they aren't kissing they are groping each other. Yes, I know I was like that with Wolfie when we were dating or should I say when I was his mate but I don't do it in front of people.
It was like Katerina was doing it to rile me, but I am holding on, enduring everything that I could endure so I could continue seeing Wolfie, but I know it's not going to last longer, with my coming of age party and my mother taking full custody of me, I know she would ask that I stop walking with Wolfie and move into the family company.
At first, I was thinking of ways to persuade my family not to leave the company but just two days ago, Katerina confronted me, telling me that Wolfie and she are having their union in a week, that was the same day as my birthday, my eighteen birthday and the day, my mom and great-grandfather were introducing me to the world, so there was no need, I am planning of dropping my resignation letter tomorrow after I complete the tasks that Wolfie gave to me, so the workload doesn't weigh on him after I resigned and I was willing to give compensation for the breach of contract since I wasn't able to give notice of three months before quitting.
In the midst of all these, I still have people who love me, my great-grandfather, Mother, and cousin have been supportive during this time, so I think it wouldn't be too hard to forget Wolfie and move on after I reunite with my family as for Casper, I haven't given him an answer to his proposal but he had been acting more of a boyfriend than just a friend.
He wasn't all bad, he is nice and he is every female dream of Mr. Right but I am scared that he might wake up one morning and realize that I am some pathetic human, someone not good enough to be called a Luna of a Pack, but I am not going to deliberate on that, I was thinking I will give him answer on my party since Wolfie is already taken and there will be no future for the both of us.
I tilted my head to him, as I smile watching him manoeuver the car into Wolfie's company carport, his eyes darted to me, for the past weeks, Casper had been the one to drop me off and pick me up from work, even though Mother wanted to provide one for me, for some reason, she was scared of my safety, even though she didn't tell me, or even show me the sketch of my dad yet, I know something was off but I will not push it, at least, I am enjoying the company of Casper every morning and evening, allowing me to know more about him and what it entails to be a Luna, "why are you smiling?" I shake my head timidly while averting my gaze, I didn't think I would get caught while staring at him.
"C'mon baby tell me."
"It's nothing..." I smiled, blushing inwardly as the word baby rolled out of his lips. Casper isn't all difficult to love.
"C'mon, tell me, I know something is behind that smile."
"It's nothing just open the car." He pouted giving me that boyish smile while staring at me, with squinting eyes. "fine, I want you to be my escorts at my party..." He looks at me surprised, my lips form a zero, it's like he doesn't want to. I said mentally before I parted my lips. "Oh, I know you must be very busy, so if you can't make it, I will..."
"Who said so?" He interrupted me, before pulling my hand, intertwining his fingers with mine, "I just felt honored, I didn't think you would like to walk beside this male on your big day."
"Silly what are you saying? You are handsome, rich, and famous, so who wouldn't want such a male to steal the spotlight with her?" He turned his gaze to me.
"You make me feel so important whenever I am around that it becomes so difficult for me to leave whenever I am around you."
"Stop being silly, open the car door, I need to get down and you have a client waiting for you."
"Let them wait, or I could just cancel," I smirk pushing his head.
"Stop being silly and go work your ass out, you know you need all the world's money to please this princess sitting beside you."
"You're right, I can't afford to lose you to another because of money."
"Now you are talking so be a good boy and run along." I said wanting to pull the car door but he stopped me. "hey..."
"Hold on, let me get the door," I smiled giving him a nod before he got down from the passenger seat walked to my side of the car, and pulled the door for me.
"Thank you, such a perfect gentleman, although I am waiting to see that asshole side of you." He smirked before tucking the strand of hair flying in front of me behind my ear.
"I could be an asshole to everyone but not to you."
"What if I want to see that asshole side? You know I could still love you, even if you are an asshole to me."
"You love me?" Casper asked and I gnawed my lips, he parted his lips to ask again since I hadn’t given him an answer when I noticed Wolfie's car just pulled over close to us.
"I have to go, we will talk later, I don't want the boss getting there before me," I said as I hurried towards the entrance and reached for the elevator, just when the elevator was about to shut, Wolfie's foot stopped the door and my eyes snapped to him. 'Fuck...’ I cursed inwardly, I didn't want to stay in the same elevator with him, but I was sure there was nothing I could do since he was already inside the elevator.
"Hey wait up..." Meredith's voice came up. He took a step to get into the elevator and so was Vida rushing to get into the elevator.
