Chapter 084
Akira's POV
"Amelia..." he whispered, the expression on his face was someone in doubt. He could hardly believe what he was seeing yet he was finding it difficult not to believe it. I looked up, at him startled. As our eyes met, the old man’s breath caught in his throat.
His eyes roamed my face, and the furrow on his face was like he was mistaking me for someone else or I reminded him of someone, for a second I forget that I was a little embarrassed with the lover's bite on my neck. I knew I was going to kill Wolfie for doing this to me and not telling me to wear a collar shirt to hide it but first I need to clear this old man thought.
“I’m sorry, do I know you?” I asked, my voice gentle but confused.
"Amelia..." He repeated the same name and I blinked several times, my confusion deepening. “I think you are mistaking me with someone else,” I give a forceful smile, “My name is Akira, not Amelia.”
The old man’s hand went to his head, the realization hitting him like a hurricane. I could see his face darken. His expression gave out a mixture of embarrassment and confusion. “I’m sorry,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “I know you are not Amelia," I look at him more confused, if he knew I wasn't Amelia then what is the reason he is referring to me as Amelia? "Oh shit!" He cursed shaking his head, "Pardon this old man, It’s just… you look so much like my daughter but she is older, for a moment, I thought…” he paused.
I huffed as my expression softened. I saw the embarrassment in the old man’s eyes. I understand the feeling of being embarrassed. The way his shoulders sagged showed he was flogging himself internally, “It’s okay, everyone gets that embarrassing moment sometimes, even I just did,” I said pointing at my neck and he smiled, “You see, we deal with embarrassment every day but we can't beat ourselves over it,"
"You are right? But this old man has been so dramatic these past weeks and truth be told you reminded me of my daughter, you are just like her," He replied. I help him settle on the bench.
"Really?" I asked as he repeated the same words.
"Yes..." He said not taking his eyes off me.
"I am sure your daughter must be a queen and a wonderful person.”
The old man nodded slowly, his eyes misting over. “She is, very beautiful just like you,” he said quietly. “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. But she’s grown up now, with her own life. And if you are much older, I would have thought you are twins that were separated from birth,"
"All may be, I am your granddaughter," I teased him and he laughed.
"Yeah, my granddaughter that sounds nice." He smiled, "This old man found his granddaughter," this time I let out a pearl of laughter. I noticed the old man was staring strongly, I pulled my hair band falling my hair to cover the hickey on my neck, thinking it was the hickeys on my neck that he was staring at, he smiled, "Don't give my actions a thought, I’m just… I’m just an old man, who saw a younger version of his grown daughter, how old are you and who are your parents?" He asked and I looked at him with bulging eyes, he waved his hand, "You can choose not to tell..."
"Is not like that. It's not like I don't want to tell I am just thinking..." I paused, "Never mind, I am..."
"Grandpa, here you are, I have been looking for you everywhere. We should go now, you don't want Aunty to get mad at me," we heard a voice and footsteps approaching us, I moved my eyes and the young man that was walking towards us, jaw dropping when he saw my face, I saw the surprise on his face and the smiled on the old man's face.
"Roe... I found my granddaughter and I found a wife for you," I choke.
"Aunty Amelia had a child?" The young man who was just referred to as Roe, asked.
"Her look-alike daughter, my name is Akira Ross," I said stretching my hand to the young man, he is like Wolfie but not as handsome as Wolfie. I smirked at my thoughts, Wolfie seemed to always get the first spot on most handsome in my eyes.
"Oh, I am Roe Anderson, for a second I thought you were Aunty's daughter," he said taking my hand.
"Do I look so much like her?" I asked smiling at him.
"Yes, you are just like her just the maturity that is the difference,"
"Oh! I hope one day I can meet that queen that I stole her face," I said casually.
"Sure, you can meet her," I look at him confused, "The Shan group is having a party by the weekend, my daughter will be there, so I am inviting you to the event, you should come, I could introduce you to her." He said pulling out an invitation for me.
“Thank you,” I said smiling at him and then at the young man who helped him up from the bench
"You welcome and you should come," he said stretching out his contact card to me.
"I will try, sir," I said
"Bullshit, call me grandpa," he said and I smiled.
"Grandpa..."
"Good then granddaughter," he pulled me into a hug, and my hand wrapped around him, I felt so safe in his hand. My phone rang suddenly, I pulled from him.
"I got to go, Grandpa," he smiled because this time, the words came out well from my lips like they as always been there. quietly, his voice full of gratitude.
"Wait... Do you have a car?" I shake my head, "Then Roe should bring you..."
"No, I will be fine, someone is waiting for me," I said fast I didn't want the old man to push further, Wolfie would kill me if he found out, I was dropped by a male.
"If you say so but you should be careful," I nodded at him, "here you should use this to cover your neck," I smirked as he pulled the muffler from his neck and gave it to me.
"Thanks, Grandpa, and goodbye Roe," I said waving at them, my eyes trailed them as they drove away while I turned around and walked home.
Wolfie was at the door when I arrived, "where have you been?" His voice was cold. Is he mad at me right now? I'm supposed to be the one mad at him, first, he didn't reply to me when I expressed my feelings to him and now he left hickeys on my neck.
"Park..." I said just one word.
"Are you meeting up with..."
"Oh please, how can I meet up with males with these hickeys on my neck?" I scoffed pointing at my neck and he tittered
"It isn't funny... What the fuck? You Left hickeys on my neck?" I yelled, "Why didn't you tell me that you left those stupid pieces of stuff on my neck, I was practically telling the whole world that I had a passionate night?"
"Stupid! They aren't hickeys, I branded you?" He blurted those words and I looked at him confused.
"What? I do not understand?" I asked, he smirked, moving closer as his breath met my neck.
"I just stick my claim on you, you are mine now, that is my mate mark on you." His fingers ran on it. "That is my mate mark on you,"
"Mate what?"
