Akira's POV
I look at myself one last time in the mirror, trying to see if all the hickeys Wolfie left on my skin were fully covered with that concealer, "I don't know why we need to cover all of them?" My gaze moved to Vida, who was helping me cover all those lover's bites and also the mark that Wolfie and Vida called the mate mark. She was using my skin color to cover it. Blending it into my skin. Last night when Wolfie pulled me out of his office we ended up in the house after endless hours of intimacy, I told him, I wanted to go to Vida, that I hadn't been able to speak to her through the day, so he drove me here very late in the night and today I was supposed to meet with Amelia, I don't even know what she wanted to say but I should make a good impression. I heard there is no second time to make a first impression.
"Vida, are you crazy? You don't expect me to appear in front of that woman with all these bites, so she thinks I am some prostitute?" I sneer.
"She wouldn't think so, she will no that her daughter is a..."
"Shut up for once Vida."
"I am only helping and don't overthink it because I know she is dying to find you, even if she saw you on top of a male, she would still open her hands wild for you." I move my gaze to Vida, glaring at her. I don't know how she jungle around two different emotions, in a blink. "Sorry, just happy for you that you found your biological mother and she is nothing like that ugly-ducking of Linda's mother."
"Vida?" I called in frustration.
"What? Isn't Aunty Amelia more beautiful than..."
"What will I do with you?"
"Kiss me for lighting your mood." She pouted while I rolled my eyes at Vida while pushing her lips that protruded toward me.
"Ew... Who wants to kiss a female?"
"Even I don't want to kiss you, so tell me, did Caspar say your mother is going to bring you home today?" Vida asked putting the final touch on my neck. She told me how Amelia had risked her life just to find me, that she met up with one mafia Lord, thinking that she would meet a man who said he knew about my whereabouts although she heard them calling a man's name that didn't sound like my father's name, and she couldn't even remember the name they called but she thinks that is the name of Amelia's child. Maybe, my father was just some good Samaritan who rescued me. I said mentally.
"I don't know whatever the outcome, we will find out, " I said giving one last look at my reflection, Vida had dabbled with a light concealer to give a final touch on my neck. If not looked at closely, no one will see the slightest difference on my neck. I smiled looking at Vida.
"You got quite a skill while wasting your time with Lady Cassandra?"
"As if, she haven't thrown me out already." She scoffed before she rested on the wardrobe. "So tell me, who is picking you up, is it, Caspar? Wolfie? the gladiator?" My eyes narrowed, looking at Vida.
"Who is the gladiator?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulder.
"Roe? Your cousin..." I parted my lips to say something before her voice came up, "...Or the strange man called..." Vida couldn't finish her words before my phone rang, I smiled at the caller. "Hey, my wolf." I heard him chuckle from the other side of the phone.
"How are you?" He murmured.
"I am good, are you already outside." I already know, he said he is picking me up at this time, and it's just a minute to the time we agreed on. Wolfie is always earlier with a minute or two.
"No, my Luna, I am not there yet." For some reason, I felt down and uneasy. If he is not outside and he is calling it only means he is about to cancel.
"Is there a little change?" I asked trying to contain my voice. "Is everything alright?" I asked when I heard him huff and hissed at the same time. I could tell from his voice and actions without seeing him that something was off.
"Sorry, Akira, I will have to cancel, something important came up and I have to cancel."
"Oh..." That was all I could say as I shut my eyes trying to find my voice not wanting to show how disappointed I was in my voice. I didn't know how important Wolfie's meeting was, I didn't want him to choose between me and that meeting.
"Akira?" Wolfie called suddenly, breaking the silence between us.
"It's okay..." I sighed inwardly trying to force a small smile on my face while calming my racing heart.
"We could cancel, and fix it another day if you are tense." His words made me realize that, I was sharing my emotions with him.
"No, I am fine, you don't have to, I want to meet up with her today."
"Okay, just wait for me, I could always go to the meeting late." I shake my head accompanying my words.
"No, you don't have to, I will be fine, I can manage,"
"Oh, don't worry, I will send Meredith to pick you up and take you there."
"Stop that, I will be fine, I could just ask Caspar to pick me up and drive me there since we are meeting at his office." I could hear a low growl from Wolfie's side of the phone, I guess he doesn't like the idea of another man picking me and driving me. And for all the men, it had to be Caspar.
"Do not disturb Caspar, I will send Meredith to get you and take you there."
"Wolfie, I..."
"Please Akira, let me do this." His voice becomes thicker and deeper.
"Fine, I will wait."
"Alright, I am sorry, I couldn't be there to watch you all dressed up and looking all pretty."
"You want to see, or do you want the beta to tell you how all pretty, I look?"
"Sure." He answered too fast to even give a second thought to what I said and his voice sounded like someone smiling.
"Alright, I will take a picture and send it in a minute."
"Waiting, love." I smiled at his words while I gave Vida my phone to take a picture of me, I was wearing a gown with a low-cut neckline exposing my flawless smooth skin. I didn't wear a necklace because I wasn't used to wearing another necklace for a second, I felt empty and wondered where my necklace was.
"Goddess, you look stunning, there is no way Amelia will bat her lashes before pulling you into a hug. Such a beautiful damsel."
"Hey, stop with the flattering,"
"Not flattering, saying the words, the way it is.”
“Stop, just don't make my head swell"
"You know you are cute even without the makeup." I smiled at his words. "I should leave you now and don't forget to call me if ever she tries to bully you but I know she won't."
"I hope so," I said taking one last look at my reflection while my phone pressed on my chest.
"Relax Akira, they are not bad people."
"I wish I could see what everyone sees." I huffed. Vida pulled me into a hug.
"You will be fine, just be open to your new life that awaits you."
