Chapter 078
Logan's POV
"What the fuck Logan, did you..." Meredith screamed as his gaze fell on Akira's neck. I shook my head violently stopping him from picking the last words, Akira flinched gripping my forearm.
'What the fuck Meredith? You are scaring her,' I dug into his head, he shut his eyes to prevent Akira from noticing his eyes were flecking white.
'I didn't mean to but...'
'No more questions,' I shut my mind-link.
"C'mon Akira, you should sit," I said pulling the chair for her before I took the sit beside her, my butler was doing very well not to question me, and Meredith on the other hand was fighting the urge not to dig into my head and bombard me with questions, "sorry... Excuse me," Meredith stood from the dining. I know my impatient beta wouldn't sit there longer.
"Are you leaving because of me?" Akira asked her voice almost like a whisper, biting her lower lips. Meredith forced a smile.
"No, I am done here and I need to fix some things at the office since the boss is having..."
"Ahem..." I cleared my throat this time, Meredith let out a genuine smile, and his smile reached his eyes.
"I better leave and Logan don't stay too long, you have an appointment by 10 am," he said dropping the napkin before he turned his gaze to Akira, "enjoy your day, I hope to see you when I return in the evening," Akira parted her lips to say something but my voice came up.
"Sure, you will see her," I said before I turned to Akira, adding more chicken to her plate, "you know, if you are bored, I could ask Williamson to go get your friend for you," Meredith choked the moment I mentioned Akira's friend, and I squint my eyes. "Are you okay?" I asked and Meredith nodded before he darted out.
"Wolfie..." Akira called and I know what was playing in her head.
"Hmmm..." I hummed.
"I don't think Meredith likes me," I smirked, placing a heaped spoonful of food on her plate before adding to mine.
"Oh! You shouldn't take Meredith's actions to heart, the male is like a female in her period, and the mood swings are always present," she chortled this time hitting my shoulders.
"You are mean. Not all female had those hormones when having their period," I shrugged my shoulder.
"We will see about that," she falls her face on her palm, smiling, "are you blushing or cooking up naughty things you want to do to me during that period?"
"Wolfie..." She calls out and smiles.
"I love the way my name rolls out on your lips. It sound sexy," I said pecking her forehead
"Eat..." She said as her face turned red. "You should eat fast," she said noticing I wasn't eating.
"Maybe, you should feed me,"
"Wolfie..." She called pouty her lips at Williamson, I smirk waving for Williamson to leave.
Williamson, my butler turned and walked towards the kitchen.
"Why did you ask him to leave?"
"It's because my Luna wanted him to leave, now feed your wolf." I said, and she smirked pulling my chin playfully before she pushed the spoon towards my lips.
"Open up..." She orders me.
"As my Luna pleases," her laughter filled the air as she feed me and I ended up feeding her in return, the dining was much more lively. Our meal was always silent even if my gamma, beta and that naughty cousin of mine was here. It would still be like a graveyard but with Akira, everything was different and I wish it would last like this forever but I know it would end in five months and this will all be a dream and I have to marry Katerina and give the pack a heir that will take over when I am gone and I might probably be gone from the world a year from now.
The thought of dying rattled me and doomed my mood, I hissed at the last part, "Are you alright?" Akira asked and I nodded for her.
After the meal, I left Akira at home and left for the office, Meredith was waiting for me at the office with the way he was pacing, I knew he was dying to scold me, his expression a mixture of anger and concern.
"Just spill, scold me if you want," I said nonchalantly.
"I am not scolding you, Alpha, you know the rules, you know what is at stake," Meredith growled, his voice a low rumble that reverberated through the stillness of my office, I know he wanted to let that out. "You can't possibly mark a human girl, especially one that doesn't have an idea of who we are, what were you thinking when you marked her? I know she is your mate, you love her and I understand that the urges are there, you could fuck her not mark her, I thought you were thinking of breaking the bond so that mark on your neck could disappear and now you brand her?" He growled, no matter how hard he tried to control his voice, he couldn't and I understood my Beta, "Alpha, say something,"
"What do you want me to say?" I asked falling on the couch in my office. I move my gaze to the ceiling, "I didn't mean to mark her, it just happened, Thunder wanted his mark on her and I couldn't control it..."
"You let him," I huffed.
"Maybe, I didn't want it at first but I was selfish. so I just assumed that having my mark on her will scare Casper off." Meredith choke.
"So this is all about Casper?"
"No, it's not about him, Akira is my mate, so it's only normal for me to be territorial and I can't fight the bond," I said but that was a lie, if I had pushed harder, I would have been able to control my wolf.
"Are you telling her?" Meredith paused for a while.
"Telling her what?" I asked Meredith.
"Don't play smart with me, are you telling her that we are wolves? You have your mark on her and you know, the bond will make her feel things. You can't hide it. She already knows something is off, with Katerina. Alpha, she deserves to know the truth."
I tilted my head to face my beta, my eyes squinting. "Do you realize what you're asking? Akira has no clue about us and she would freak out if she found out that I am a wolf. She hated the idea that a man is a wolf but believed a wolf is a wolf and a man is a man."
Meredith swallowed hard, I thought he was going to drop the topic but he didn't back down. "Akira isn't like other humans. She's just like a simple girl and she loves you, she deserves to know the truth. I think she will..."
"No Meredith, I am not doing that,"
"Then what are you going to do? Keep her in the dark and fuck another female to get an heir, while she received the unfaithfulness mark and pain?"
