Akira's POV
"You should come out your mate is dying to meet you," I murmured and the next thing, he leaped from the ground when he was coming down his skin was covered with fur. It was so fast and the next thing something was standing in front of me.
I just found myself staring at a wolf with silver mixed with grey fur. This wasn't my first time seeing him but it was the first for us to meet in a calm situation.
I was just staring at him like I was studying him, so I could recognize him when he was mixed with other wolves. The funny thing is that the wolf didn't move, and I moved suddenly and my fingers moved.
"Hi! My name is Akira." I didn't even know what to say or what to do. So I just stretched out my hand for him and introduced myself as humans do and then he stuck out his tongue after letting out a whimper. My eyes bulge looking at him, trying to understand him. Watching his tongue made me remember the first time, I thought Wolfie wanted to lick me, I told him, his tongue his long but the naughty male denied it. Thunder kept doing that it was then I understood that he probably wanted something, "do you want to lick me?" He whimpered again and I smiled. "Sure you can but please don't bite me."
Before I could finish my words, he leaned down, its snout brushing against my face. But I didn't flinch, although my mind was screaming at me to run, but my feet refused to move. He is still Wolfie and no one else. I should see him as Wolfie, not a wolf.
Thunder's wet nose pressed against my cheek, and then, to my utter shock, I felt the warm, rough texture of its tongue as he licked my skin. A single, slow stroke, from my jawline to the corner of my mouth.
I gasped, the sensation both terrifying and strangely intimate. I wasn't sure that thunder wouldn't hurt me earlier even though we had encountered each other so many times.
Thunder continued to nuzzle me gently, its tongue tracing my skin as though tasting me. I giggled as his tongue danced around my neck. 'Having a pet is not bad.' I said mentally.
With his tongue dancing on my skin, my core was already burning demanding attention, and my fingers went into his fur, hugging his neck like I didn't want him to go.
"Can I ride you now?" I asked when I detached from him, I don't know if he understood but the surprising thing is, he slumped his huge body on the floor moving his head for me to climb on him. "wow... That was lovely, I think you and I will make a better team than Wolfie and I." I said running my hand on his fur, he flipped his tail and I giggled. "I like you very much." He moves his tail again. "Probably love you a little more than Wolfie," I said getting on his back, I pat him gently on his back. "You should take it slow with me, please don't run too fast." I rest my chin on his upper body while my hand snakes around his neck with my leg wrapped around his lower hips not forgetting Wolfie's clothes, I didn't want him to walk nude after he shifted into his human form.
Slowly thunder rises from the floor standing on his back paws my heart palpitations increase as fear reeks me, this is my first time riding an animal, I have never ridden even a horse. He began to move, I was expecting him to leap like he always does but he was moving at a slow pace. As we moved further, he increased his pace but he wasn't too fast.
"Thank you, mate, for looking out for me," I whisper against his fur hoping he will hear me as well.

Logan's POV
Those words coming from Akira melted my heart and the way she welcomed my wolf, warmed my heart, I had no idea if she would agree to meet my wolf today because she had asked me once and I couldn't give in because I was too weak to do that. I couldn't help but feel happy and satisfied when I asked her if she was ready to meet my wolf and she agreed.
I was just pushing my luck, I wanted to bring her to my territory but I knew it would raise dust and she might find out everything about me and my sickness. Not only that, my mother will find out that my mate is a human girl.
I pushed the thought of everything that might happen, I wanted to focus on Akira and nothing else.
I almost thought we couldn't shift today when I tried to summon Thunder and he didn't respond but as soon as he heard Akira's voice Thunder wanted to come out since she was the one who requested for him.
Thunder's emotions were all over the place, he was excited just like me. Hearing those words from Akira made his heart filled with pride and he even boasted that Akira found him more attractive than me.
I couldn't help being jealous of my wolf with the way Akira hugged him and let him lick her. No doubt Akira was finally accepting us into her world.
Thunder ran through the woods trying not to bump into those woods, he was protecting our mate, I don't know how long this would last but it was worth the time, 'Thunder, you should let me know if you want to shift back?' I said to my wolf knowing I couldn't exhaust him
'not yet, I still want to run with Akira on my back,'
'don't you feel exhausted?' I asked my wolf.
'no, I don't, I have never been so alive for the past years, till this day, having Akira was like the medicine I needed all my life. She makes me happy.'
'she makes me happy too and I love her scent.' I said.
'can we keep her?' he asked suddenly, thunder wasn't a stranger to all this pain he carried the greatest pain but he also had a heart. A heart that is longing for his mate.
'Thunder, you know we can't keep her.' he sped up still not at a high pace that would make Akira fall off his back.
'but I want to keep her, I don't want Katerina, I want our mate.'
'c'mon thunder, don't make it harder than it already is, you know we are dying and the pack needs an alpha, we need to produce an Alpha for the pack, someone to rule when we are no longer there.'
'why does it always have to be about the Pack? Logan, what about us? When are we going to think about ourselves?'
'it's because we don't have that word in our dictionary the very day we were born we were born to live and died for our pack.' he sighed.
'what about Akira? What will happen to her when we are gone?' those last words sounded bitter in his throat.
'That's the reason we are searching for her parents, so she could have someone to be with when we give her the rejection.' thunder wanted to argue with me when Austin's voice dug into my head.
'Alpha, the results are out.'
