Akira's POV
"Who is the fucking Father?" Roe snarled as his eyes fixed on me. I swallow hard. My arms went to my face as I scrubbed my palm across my face.
I can't be pregnant now.
All my life, I had always wanted a mini-me but not in this way, not without a husband and a boyfriend.
"I can't be pregnant."
"Is it Casper?" Roe asked.
"Stop it, he is not the one, I haven't slept with Casper, we only became an item last night and for hell's sake, I am not pregnant." I snarled wanting to get off the floor but my feet were giving me a hard time, Roe reached out to me and pulled me gently from the floor.
"I will call the doctor and let him check on you." Roe's voice was soft but I could still feel the tension in his voice.
"That wouldn't be necessary, I told you, I am not pregnant, and the party..."
"Forget about the party, I could look for an excuse to tell Grandpa to excuse you for the rest of the party." He said softly before his eyes went back to me. "Now tell me, who is the fucking Father?"
It would be Wolfie. I know he didn't pull out from me, this time but I don't think it was what happened a few days between us, that led to this, I guess it was before the breakup. But we used condoms, all the time.
I was about to reply to him when Mother walked in on us, I swallowed hard, knowing this was going to be hard, if ever I was pregnant and Mother was here, I was doomed.
"What is going on?" Mother asked looking alarmed and I looked at Roe for help at the same time pleading for him not to say anything about this supposed pregnancy. "Baby, are you feeling alright? You look pale." Her gaze became stronger on me, I couldn't even look at her, I was practically fidgeting with my fingers avoiding her gaze.
"She is fine mom, I think she ate something that upset her tummy, but you have nothing to worry about, I will take care of her." my eyes move to Roe.
"Oh dear, how are you?" Mother asked running her hand on my shoulder, while I nodded to her indicating I was fine. "Alright, can we go back to the party, your..."
"Mother, I think we should let her rest." She moved her eyes to me, having a long pause before she nodded.
"Fine, you should bring her to the main building while I tell Grandpa that we could continue without her but if ever it becomes worse get the doctor." He gave her a tight smile.
"Sure, I will do that." It was Roe who commented.
"Fine then, I will leave you two but please let me know if anything comes up."
"Sure..." It was Roe who spoke again, I was already breaking down inwardly and my heart palpitations were making it so hard for me, I didn't want to open my lips to say something because I knew I might give myself up if ever I attempted to.
"Alright, take care of your sister while I join your grandpa." Mother said giving me one last glance before she turned around and left, I let out the breath I was holding all this while.
"C'mon let's go." He helped me into the main building, I was going to my room when Vida's room door opened, she was looking pale but better than the previous days, I guess the magic had drilled her power, that was the reason, she was excused from the party. "I will leave you too, to get the doctor but this conversation is not over." He said before averting his gaze from me to Vida. "make sure, she rest and eat."
I didn't even know what to do when Roe walked out, Vida hurried to me, looking at me confused. "I can't be pregnant," I murmured and her hands flew to her lips.
"But I think you are," my eyes snapped to her, "Your blood... They smell strange and I think your heartbeat is..."
"Vida, what are you saying and wait? Are you also a fey?" She shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know, I just felt weird, I think something is off about me, I will look for ways to talk to my aunt, since she said my parents died when I was still a kid but about you having a strange smell, I am not lying, I think you are pregnant." My lips hung as I tried to count the days back that we had sex without protection.
"But he is a werewolf, I thought humans can't..."
"You are not just some mere human. Probably, because you are fey, you could have a pup together and their creator wants you to bear a child for him, you should be..."
"Vida stop, I don't want to be pregnant..." She looks at me as I ruffle my hair. "Not that I don't want a baby, it's just that, I can't be pregnant with Wolfie's baby. He doesn't want me anymore, he is having his union with a she-wolf and my mother will kill me, it's like me reminding her of what she is trying to forget." My tears were already unshed, I didn't want to bring disgrace to the family, I just met, and I didn't want my mother to feel bad, that I was another black sheep of the family.
"Akira, don't beat yourself, we are not even sure that, you are pregnant, maybe, it's me and my stupid hormones for the past few days."
I want to believe Vida that I am not pregnant but the Truth is staring at my face, I was pregnant, after Roe arrived with the doctor it, was confirmed that I was pregnant, I think two to three months, I couldn't even get the exact date, how stupid I was that I didn't remember that as a female, I am supposed to see that monthly red blotches.
It was obvious that this baby was there, right from the first time we both had sex.
I watched the doctor give instructions on how I could manage the pregnancy, I was just calm taking everything she said but I don't think I wanted to keep this baby growing me and I still didn't want to kill anyone, which meant I had to keep the pregnancy, the fact remains that it's not going to be easy, raise a werewolf in human Territory.
I tried calling Wolfie's phone but he didn't take any of my calls, what was I expecting, he could be busy.
After calling countless times, and no calls were returned, I gave up and faced my fate.
"What am I going to do?" I asked as tears streamed down my face.
"Akira, please don't cry, I will..."
The door flew open, before Roe, could even finish his words. My heart raced when I saw Mother and Grandpa walk into the room with an elderly lady and a male beside her.
"Grandpa, Mother, why did you both leave the party?" Roe asked as his eyes roved around the four fellows that just walked into the room.
"Your mom told me that something is wrong with my granddaughter and you expect me to be in that party knowing that my granddaughter might be in danger? I have addressed the guess, telling them that you will be excused from the banquet that my heiress had some personal matter to attend to," I parted my lips to say something when he stopped and his forehead crumpled before sniffing the air.
"You are pregnant..." My eyes snapped to him, he didn't even ask, he just stated the obvious, and my tears dropped, I bit my lower lips as my gaze fell on my mother
"So you are pregnant?" Mother was speaking in a very high tone, she had never raised her voice at me since we met. Roe had told me, she is temperamental but she has been keeping her temper in check. "Who is the damn father?" Her voice came up again.
She was Damm mad at me.
"Amelia, let her be, we will handle this, I think Roe and I should get the information from her."
"I am her mother." She snarled.
"I know but let Roe talk to her first."
"Mother please, let Grandpa and I talk to Nadine first." I was still embarrassed at my actions, I could understand Mother, she was feeling bad about my actions.
"I can't wait for that, I want the answer now."
"Amelia stop it, we have to think of the health of Nadine, let's not be too harsh on her."
"I am sorry Mother, I didn't know that I was pregnant until now," I said with my eyes streaming with tears.
"So we are having another bastard in the family?" my eyes snapped to the female who just spoke, her face covered with scorn.
