Chapter 027
Akira's POV
"Akira..." I heard a soft voice calling out to me, and at the same time, wanting to touch me, I struggled to push the handoff.
"Don't touch me..." I yelled fighting it off, as I moved my head violently and avoided whoever was about to get hold of me.
"Akira, wake up already and stop fighting me off, you are safe." Slowly I battered my lashes and my gaze moved to the ceiling, it was white, I jumped off the bed, and fear gripped me. I was in a panic, my heart racing in my chest, I clenched the sheet beside me, "Wolf..." I screamed.
"Hey idiot, wake up already and stop acting crazy." I sit upright, hearing that cold voice, the former was Vida but the latter was from my mother that is standing at the door, and Linda, my sister was standing beside her, she was glaring at me.
"C'mon ma, take it easy with her," Vida said, running her hand on my hair.
"Will you keep quiet and stop being disrespectful, no one is talking to you here." Linda shut Vida up. "Anyways, I know you wouldn't know what it means to have regard for older ones when you don't have a mother."
"Linda..." Vida called out to Linda in anger, I saw her ball her fist and she was glaring at Linda, I moved my hand to touch her ball fist, stopping her from talking back at Linda. "You should thank your star that this is a hospital."
"What are you going to do, if this is not a hospital? Loser."
"Stop it, Linda, just ignore her, we are not here for her but for this stupid sister of yours, what did you do this time? First, it's you getting in trouble with Ethan and now you are here, screaming wolf, are you going insane or something?" Mother scolded me.
"I am not going crazy, I saw a wolf, yes, that lady is a wolf, she was..."
"Gracious me, Akira, you have lost it." Mother said in frustration, I shut my eyes.
"Mother, believe me, I saw her, she is..."
"She is what? Akira, aren't you going crazy, how can you see a wolf in a hospital elevator? Or does this place look like a forest?" She yelled at me in frustration
"But is the true, that woman is a wolf, she even scratched my face with her claws, she left a mark on my..." I moved my hand to my face, wanting to feel my face where she had left that tear, but there was nothing there, Vida stared blankly at me, as confusion registered on her face.
"What injury are you talking about now?" Mother asked from the blue, looking at me with a scoff, I threw the sheet off my body and swung my legs to the floor, I rushed to the glass door. I turned my face side by side to check for the injury that I remember she left on my cheeks but there is nothing there, my face is still the same, and there was no mark or even a sign of a healing wound, I pulled the hospital gown, I was wearing off my shoulders, when I remember her claws pierce me there but fuck, there was nothing there, I shut my eyes. Am I going crazy?
"Akira, are you alright?" Vida asked me as she moved to me, holding my shoulder. I patted my lips to say something.
"Isn't it obvious, that this friend of yours is going insane, first she said wolf attacked her and then she claimed that the so-called wolf injured her but there was no injury on her face and even her bared shoulder that is right in front of us has no mark, or are you going to tell us that the wolf erases the mark as well?" Linda kept ranting.
"I am..."
"Akira, it's fine, you should rest." Vida stopped me, from saying more.
"You don't believe me too?" I ruffle my hair in frustration.
"Of course, she doesn't believe you, who will believe you, no one will, it's either you are being dramatic or you are going crazy, which one of them did you fall under?" Linda said pulling my hair, I swatted her hands from my hair.
"But..."
"But what?" Mother asked coldly, interrupting me.
"Never mind..." I said finally, as my heart raced, trying to make sense of what happened yesterday. I could feel disoriented, questioning whether it was real or just my stupid imagination. Panic and confusion crowded my head. If I kept insisting that I was attacked by a wolf then they would think that I was going insane.
"Good, get your stupid self from that hospital wears, we need to leave it's obvious that nothing is wrong with you, you are just acting stupid. And as for the bills, you should sort it out because I do not have money to pay for your shenanigans." Mother yelled as she turned to leave. "And be fast about it, if you don't want to walk home." I didn't look at the faces of my mother and Linda, I just simply got my stuff. When Vida and I got to the receptionist to ask for our bills, she said we were free to go home. So Vida and I walked out of the building, mother was already sitting in the cab, while Linda was still standing beside the cab.
"Hope you are not planning on bringing that bitch with us?"
"But..."
"It's fine, I will take another cab, just call me when you get home." She said pecking me, and bidding goodbye to me before she turned around while I entered the cab. The drive was silent, I knew Mother was just waiting for us to get home, the very moment we entered our building.
"I will go to my room..."
"Not so fast, we should talk about something important, Ethan..." I rolled my eyes, is that idiot even important?
"Mother please, I don't want to talk about him, we break up..." Mother slapped her hand across my face. "How dare you break up with Ethan, you know we need him, he has been paying for the house mortgage for years since your worthless father disappeared with that no good mistress of his. We need his resources and money, and you have the guts to break up with him."
"Ethan cheated on me. He lied to me and made a fool out of me and attacked me, he wanted to stab me to death, he doesn't even love me and you think I didn't make the right decision to call off whatever you think we share and for the record, he had a fiancee that he is going to walk down the aisle with him so stop bothering me about Ethan and his nonsensical behavior..."
She interrupted me, "I don't care what he did to you, even if you have to be his mistress, I don't fucking care after all, your mother is a mistress as well."
"What am I to you? Some cash bag."
"Don't you dare speak to Mom that way, you should be grateful for once, Mother has been caring for you all this time and you didn't want to show any signs of appreciation."
"Oh please, what have I been doing, all my life I have been sacrificing my happiness for this family, this family that I am not even welcome. I am doing my best."
"No, you are not, you are ungrateful and should be ashamed of yourself." Mother snarled
"Ashamed? Now we are going to talk about morals. You should use that word on your perfect daughter. Fine my mother is a whore like you called her and I am a daughter of a whore, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Yes, I know but what about that bitch beside you, didn't she sleep with Ethan as well, does that means you are also a mistress?"
"Shut your mouth bitch.." Linda raised her hand to slap me, I held her hand in space.
"I am not done." I swatted her hand.
"I am fucking tire of you throwing shade at me and acting like I am some leech when you and your mother are the leech."
"How dare you, you should get out of my house." Mother yelled pushing me to the door.
"Fine, I am leaving, you should give me my trust fund and I am going to get out of your life." Mother tittered.
"Trust fund? Maybe you have forgotten that you are still a minor, it's stated that you could only use your trust only if you turned eighteen and till you are seventeen, I still have the right to Lord it over you. You will not get a cent from that trust fund only if you get married to Ethan."
"Never..."
"Really? Let's see how it goes, now get out." She pushed me out and slammed the door against my face.
