Akira's POV
My heart thudded loudly as my face subconsciously leaned in, his gaze moving from my eyes to my lips as he stared at my exposed face, I didn't see any shocking reaction on his face, does it mean he knew I was the one in the room all along, I don't think so, he hates my guts and I don't think he is excited to see me, he is going to blame me now for his injury, I parted my lips to apologize to him for what happened, "I am sorry sir, I didn't mean to..." his eyes expression stopped my words and I subconsciously move my gaze to his throat, his Adam's apple move as he swallowed hard, I pinned my lips but to my greatest surprised, his hand moves to my face, pulling my chin gently. Wolfie moves his fingers on my lips before moving it away from my lips and his lips fall towards mine, I shut my eyes waiting for his lips to fall on mine.
"Son..." I heard a voice and the cracking of the door accompanied the voice, I froze on the spot and his eyes bulged before he withdrew his hand and signaled me that I should use my medical mask, I covered it almost with shaken hands. "Gracious me, how could you be careless? I heard that stupid girl that you employed is the..."
"Mother stop it."
"Why? She is..."
He interrupted her, "Thanks, I will let the doctor know if I am feeling any more pain." He said pulling me from my trance because I have no idea what to do, I couldn't turn and look at the woman that just walked in, the fear that she might recognize me crippled me. His eyes move to me and then he point to me, that was when I realized I was still leaning towards him. 'fuck...' I cursed inward before I strengthened myself.
"What the fuck is going on?" His mother yelled, I adjusted myself and stood upright.
"What do you think is going on? She is a nurse and she is checking on me." He said
"And she is leaning on you like she was about to kiss you." I gulped my saliva.
"Mother stop it, like I said she is a nurse and she is not supposed to stand upright while examining me, or does she?" She sighed in frustration, dragging the chair to sit on it but I could feel her gaze was still on me, they were burning but her gaze was not as burning as the fear in my heart.
"Are you done with your examination?" Wolfie's baritone voice came up, seeing that I wasn't attempting to leave my spot.
"Uh... Yes..." I said stuttering before I adjusted myself, "You should rest, I will tell the doctor about your present condition, and also if you need anything you can press the Telecom." I said trying to keep a firm voice, while my fingers moved on the chart.
"Sure..." He said moving his gaze to his mother while I hurried towards the door.
"Wait..." His mother said suddenly, the palpitations of my heart increase, I am doomed, is like she recognized me.
"Mother, what now?" Wolfie's voice was husky.
"Why are you so defensive? Are you hiding something?"
"What could I have been hiding? Are you going to accuse me of sleeping with a nurse in this condition of mine?" His voice was guttural.
"C'mon son, I only wanted to ask her about your health condition." She said in defeat.
"That is not necessary, you can leave," Wolfie said, I just nodded and hurried out, my heart was thudding loudly and my hands were trembling when I pulled the door, I collided with Katerina again. "Shit..." I curse before I lower my gaze avoiding hers.
"Watch it, idiot," she snarled at me but I didn't make the mistake of looking at her and she didn't even want to stare at me.
"Sorry ma'am..." I said hurrying out without a blink.
"Such a clumsy nurse." She shouted behind me but I didn't stop, the only thing on my mind was to get out of there before anyone saw me and recognized me.
"That lady, she looks familiar."
"She is a nurse, what could be familiar about her, apart from her being a nurse? Mother can you stop being annoying."
"Don't mind me, and have you already reported the situation to the cops..." I didn't hear the rest of the conversation and the reply given to her, I rushed into the first available washroom and took off my disguise one after the other, splashing water over my face. As I stared at the mirror, I saw my troubled face and tried to calm my heart.
"That was fucking close." I said, at first when Vida gave me these suggestions, I didn't want to do it but I had no other option when I arrive here this morning and I was told that, only close family members are allowed in and the list is just three people, his mother, fiancee that is Katerina and Meredith, so I had no other option but to play along Vida's plans and here I was dressing as a nurse with zero knowledge of what a nurse does, I shut my eyes, and then Wolfie's face came rushing in my head and how he leaned towards me, "Fuck..." I curse, shaking my head off the thought that he wanted to kiss me, my phone rings almost immediately. "Vida..." I murmured before pressing the answering button.
"Hey Akira, did you succeed?" She asked with concern.
"Yes, he knows that I was the one under the mask and in disguise as a nurse and his mother and fiancee almost got caught me but not too worried he is not going to tell on me."
"I don't understand... Wait... Your Wolfie saw you? He knows that you are the one." I rolled my eyes at her choice of words. First of all, Wolfie is not mine, he belongs to Katerina, not me.
"Vida, are you crazy? He is not mine." I scoffed.
"C'mon tell me, if he is not yours, why will he protect you, he takes a stabbed for you, first of all, he gave you, his black card, he safe you from being hurt by the elevator and he defended you in front of that asshole Ethan. If he risks his life for you it only means he is falling for you, it's just like those romance novels, the billionaire falls in love with his secretary..."
"Vida, Shut up for once..." I scoffed as I tried to picture the expression on Vida's face. This girl and her crazy fantasy.
"Yes ma..." she said, I rolled my eyes, before packing my stuff and pulling the door of the washroom, "So tell me, how did he find out that you are the one under the..."
