Chapter 059
Logan's POV
I have been sitting in my study, waiting for Meredith to return with Akira, but the fucker is nowhere in sight, I was about to call him when my butler inform me that Alpha Casper, was here at the mansion, I ruffle my hair, and just forget about him, we were supposed to be closing a deal, it wasn't about business but about our pack, and my gamma was here already since it's about the last rogue attack made on my pack, so I thought we discussed it here at the mansion.
"Let them in," I said to my butler before he shut the door and walked out, it didn't take long before the door cracked open again, revealing not just Casper, but Riley was behind him, I narrowed my gaze, before averting it to Gamma Austin.
"I am sorry alpha, your mom insisted that he come with me since he is part of the pack warriors,"
"What?" I growl clenching my fist, mother had suggested that Riley join the pack warriors but I kept objecting to it and now, just leaving her in charge for a few months, she is making decisions without consulting me. "And why the fuck am I not informed?" I glared at Austin, he was supposed to inform me regarding every single thing going on at the pack house.
"I am sorry alpha, I wanted to inform you but with the rogue attack, everything just messes up,"
"Are there casualties?" I asked, he shakes his head.
"Just our security cameras vandalized," my brow furrowed before I shook the thought that was coming into my head, I moved my gaze to Casper, and I smiled at him, giving him that smile that didn't reach my eyes.
Not that Casper had done anything bad to me, I just don't feel comfortable around him and these past days, I think I am growing more hatred for him because of a female.
Fuck me, how can I hate someone because of a mere female, when they are so many out there.
'Akira is not a mere female, she is our mate and why hasn't Meredith arrived with her yet?' I rolled my eyes at my wolf
'if you need to get laid, just tell me, instead of whining over Akira like she is some kind of price,'
'of course, she is my price to claim,' I scoff, wanting to push him to the back of my head, 'Wait, Logan, you should call Meredith, I think...'
I interrupted him, 'Shut up and let me focus,'
'Logan, you have to listen to me,' I didn't wait for him to finish, I pushed my wolf behind my head and tried to focus on the meeting with Casper, along with Riley and Austin.
I heard my head suddenly with the way Thunder was whimpering in my head, I thought I was going to drop dead. "Alpha, are you okay?" Austin asked, I guess he noticed my restlessness.
"Yeah, I am fine, I will just get water," I said standing up to grab the water. Casper's phone buzzed suddenly. I noticed his brows hike watching the screen, and his gaze moved suddenly to me, I could feel the worried expression on his face before he masked it.
"Excuse me, I need to take this call," he said before turning around and walking towards the end of the study before he quickly answered, concern flooding his voice.
"Hey dear, how are you?" His words were picky and it made me suspicious and turned on my wolf hearing, it wasn't my thing to listen to people's conversation. I was eavesdropping but I don't care, I was desperate to know who he was talking to.
"I need you, Casper," her voice was barely audible, I could hear a female voice but I couldn't pick out the voice and the words, "I'm at the police station. They think I hurt Linda, my sister, Please, come quickly, I needed someone to vouch for me,"
"What? How could your Mother do that to you, you and Linda are siblings, don't worry, Akira, I'm on my way," he said without hesitation, grabbing his keys and running towards the door.
"Akira," I murmured before my gaze tilted to him. "Which Akira are you talking about?"
"How many Akira did you know about?" I grabbed his collar, pulling roughly, "What the fuck is this, I got to go, she needs help?"
"Didn't I warn you to stay away from her, I told you right?" He swatted my hand from his collar.
"I don't understand you, you don't want her then let those who could treat her right do it."
"Don't lecture me, Akira is mine and we are back together, we have settled our differences, so if I were you, I would back off," I growl.
"You are being delusional, if you two are together again, why is she calling me when she needed help instead of calling you, the perfect boyfriend?" I twitched my lips as anger surged me and I ball my fist and hit the wall as soon as Casper left the room. Riley's gaze moves to me.
"Brother, are you interested in..." I glared at Riley, he should know better not to meddle in my business, I grabbed my phone and placed a call to Meredith, after the second ring, he picks his call.
"Where the fuck are you?"
"Alpha, I am sorry, I was just caught up..." He paused.
"Caught up with what and are you crying?" I asked his voice sounding broken.
"No, I am fine, just some little stuff, I could fix it and as for Akira, she refused to come with me but I will go back, and try to..."
"She is arrested probably by her stepmother..."
"What?" he growled.
"Now is not the time for that, I need you to search for the station, Casper is on his way there, I need to be there in the next few minutes, Austin and I are on our way," I said dropping the phone, not want to give too many details, in front of Riley.
"Alright Alpha..." Meredith said before the call ended.
"C'mon Austin, let's go."
"What about me?"
"Riley back off, you can return to the pack house or stay here, if you want to, don't meddle in my business," I said in a hurry as I rushed out with Austin, I could be a reckless driver, if there is an emergency, especially with Casper on his way there, I could even fly, I didn't want him to be her knight in shining armor.
I hit the steering wheel, when a driver intercepts me, causing me to slow down, "fuck this..." I growl, "Why the fuck did she even think of calling Casper instead of calling me?" I growl hitting the table.
"Alpha, you should calm down, maybe she didn't want you to freak out?"
"Oh yeah! But Casper could freak out,"
"Are you jealous?" My gamma asked, I shrugged my shoulder.
"I can't be jealous, she is a fucking human, annoying creature," I said in irritation.
"Really?" He had that teasing tone in his voice, I glared at him, I could feel he was about to laugh at my frustration.
"Are you mocking me?"
"Left, over there," he said avoiding my question, I turned left and I could spot Casper's car. He also just arrived at the station, and he was sprinting inside, I hissed, having a scowl on my face.
"Can't he walk? Running like a toddler" I scoff, looking at my gamma beside me. He had been holding his laughter all this while. I wanted to reprimand him but I wasn't caught up in this game of his.
I didn't have time to go check on Akira first, I thought of talking to whoever was in charge of her case first but Austin advised that I see her first but I be me, I always do what my heart tells me.
After giving my evidence that I was with Akira, the entire time, he said that he would get her for me, Akira was just coming out when she saw Casper, tears welled up in her eyes as she ran into Casper's hands, "Thank you for coming for me, the cops said that my mom drop the charges and that I could go," she said hugging him and I frown, I was the one who safe her not Casper. "Thank you...” her eyes bulged seeing me standing there before she murmured under her breath, “Wolfie..."
