Ten years after the arrival of our Pup
Akira's POV
I brushed the hair of my little girl while I tied it into a ponytail, unlike my mother and I, who like to let her hair tied up, Summer always wanted it down but today she wanted it tied up in a ponytail, so I didn't ask the reason for that because I felt she was growing and needed space to make some decisions. I stopped deciding for her and Xavier when she told me that she didn't want to be an alpha, that she rather have her twin brother become the alpha while she sat and looked pretty just like me but I know that wasn't the main reason she didn't want the alpha position, she wanted other things, while Xavier didn't think, he would be a good Alpha, he thought, if the goddess wanted him to be alpha, she would have made him come first, that he was fine, with just being a Pack warrior since we already have a future beta and a gamma and they are both boys.
Beta Meredith and Gamma Austin, had their first pup a year after our union with their mate, while beta Meredith's pup, is the youngest among them.
Wolfie and I didn't argue about it, we just told them that we are not transiting power yet that we could wait till they both come of age, and that whoever is destined to be an alpha is all in the arms of the goddess, that it doesn't have to be the first pup, be it a male or a female.
Summer had never been one to be told, what to do, everyone thinks she got her stubbornness from me, and grandmother, that she always went for whatever she wanted and always got it, while Summer refused to be prim and proper, everyone still thinks she is good with being a princess than be a little gangster, as Wolfie funnily call her, she is more of a daddy's girl.
Xavier was doing a good job training beside the alpha and the warriors, and I could see that at a tender age, he wasn't up for those kisses and pecks, like our Summer.
At ten, he was turning out to be exactly like Wolfie, not just in looks but in his personality. As a mother, they were both making me feel proud.
He was a responsible and a perfect gentleman, although he is a few minutes younger than Summer, he treated her like his younger one, he always put his sister's interest first before his, and these warmed my heart, that even though he is younger, he could protect her and there was one time, the males in the circle, called him an overprotective big brother, that will scare away males from his sister. Wolfie would always say that Summer and Xavier reminded him of, Catherine and himself.
A small grin curved on my lips, I couldn't help but remember Catherine's mate, all the things, Wolfie made him go through, just so he could claim Catherine, I ended up calling him mean, with the way he was treating the young male, one would have thought that he doesn't want him for her.
My kids and the rest of the alpha's circle kids were forming a friendship that is becoming almost inseparable just like us. "Mommy, do you think, Claire, Maria, and Diane have already arrived?" Claire was alpha Casper and his mate's daughter, Maria was alpha Marcus and his mate's daughter, and Diane was Catherine and her mate's daughter.
"I don't think so, but the last time, I checked, your dad said that the party will kick off three hours from now, so they still have hours to arrive here."
"Good..." She smiled, and I couldn't help but notice that she had that smug grin on her lips, Summer was the oldest in the female circle. Just like Xavier, she was doing a good job protecting the females, even though they were almost the same age, with a month gap. "What about the males, are they coming?" Her voice came up again, checking herself in the mirror.
"Which of the males? The Alphas or their pup?" I saw her forehead furrow, I knew who she was asking about but I decided to tease her.
"Ew..." She acted like she wanted to puke, "What will I be doing with the Alphas? I am talking about their pups."
"Fine, they are coming, and you should be nice."
"C'mon Mom, I have always been nice to them provided they don't treat me like I am some kid or a baby doll, like a Barbie." My brows furrowed but she wasn't done talking. "You know I hate it when everyone acts around me like I am some delicate egg that if not taken care of will crash. I am not some weak doll."
"I am lost..." I said looking intently at her.
"Like when I want to join the warriors, for training, when I want to play football like the rest of the boys, or when I want to climb a tree, they will just say no…"
"They care and you should know you are a princess..."
"That is the point, I don't like that, I don't want to be a pity, you see the last time Alec was here, he let me climb a tree, and even though I kept falling from the tree, he didn't stop me, he just let me climbed and I fall a thousand times but he didn't bulge."
Alec was alpha Marcus' son, the little boy then was already growing into a teenager.
"And what did Alec do?"
"I just told you, he didn't do anything but he only said, I could do it only when he is around, and I like it, even though I ended up with bruises, I enjoyed it and..." My brows furrow, remembering the day she came home with bruises
"Summer, does it mean those bruises you got on your legs and arms were a result of you falling from a tree and not fighting in your dream?" Her arms gagged her lips, I remember the day she came home with bruises she said she fought with someone in her dream, although I didn't believe it Vida used to experience that, fighting in her dream and ending up having bruises, I am sure, she must have heard it from Vida and I conversation, so she thought it was a good alibi but her loud mouth had betrayed her.
"Of course, it was in my dream, not..."
"Summer, are you lying to mummy?" I interrupted her, she shook her head before she pouted, but that face was not working for me because I was not Wolfie.
"No, I am not, it's just that..." We heard the sound of a car, she ran to the window and I saw her having that big smile, on her face. "see you Mom, I got to go, they are here and I need Alec, to take me tree climbing later."
"Summer, you can't climb trees with gowns," I yelled behind her as she ran off.
"I know, Alec told me so, that's while I have a short under the princess gown." I chuckled at her words as she ran off hitting Wolfie at the door.
"Hey, little one careful..."
"Don't say that to me, go say it to your Luna, didn't you say, I am not your Luna." I heard her voice although she was acting angry towards her father, I could still hear the sarcasm in her voice. "don't worry I will find my mate, so he could spend his money on me." My gaze moved to Wolfie, he raised his arms in surrender, while my brows furrowed.
"Find, she asked for a boot and a doll house like the one Marcus got their daughter, so I told her, I can't afford it and she said, but I just went shopping for you, that I could have cut something off your list, so I could get it for her, so I told her..."
"That she is not your mate, that you could empty your account for..." He let out a pearl of laughter, remembering what he told me, the first time, he asked that I use his card, that I am not his wife to empty his account for me and I remember telling him that maybe I should be his wife or someone special so I could empty his account.
"You are naughty..."
"So naughty, that is the reason we are paired together..."
"No, I am not..."
"Yes you are, you are always as naughty as the first time I saw, that naughty girl in conservative clothes."
"And you are that naughty handsome Alpha in a Mask." He smirked pulling me, "I love you..." I murmured.
"I love you, my beautiful mate... Years didn't change the love I had for you in my heart, you were still as perfect as the first time, you walked into my office when I was arguing with my mom."
