Logan's POV
'What?' I pushed Katerina off me and her back hit the dashboard of my car. She let out a sharp pain, while I pulled my pants covering myself, ignoring her, I pushed my fingers into my hair, and disheveled it. What have I done? 'Did I hurt her badly?' I paused not wanting to take those words, yet they were out of my mind. Was I hurting Akira for hours now? Yes, I know the answer was yes, I was hurting her. How could I forget that Akira would feel the pain if I did something as stupid as this? It's hard for werewolves to bear the pain of an unfaithfulness mark, yet I am giving it to my human mate.
'Just stop whatever you are doing I warned you but you didn't listen.' I could feel the disappointment in his voice. I am sure, he felt disgusted by my actions. Meredith had foreseen it right from the moment he saw my mark on Akira. And I was confident that nothing of such would happen but here I was driving through the same lane, I thought I would never go through.
'I messed up big time.' I murmured.
'You should fix it.' he said before the mindlink disconnected, I shut my eyes scolding myself for my actions.
"Logan?" Katerina's voice pulled me from my thoughts, my eyes snapped back to her. She was glaring at me.
"Sorry, but we can't do this anymore," I stress the last part of my words without looking at her while fixing my wears.
"Why? I am your fiancee? If we don't have sex how can I produce an heir?" She asked but I didn't answer, I turned on the ignition, I was getting irritated with my actions. "Is because of Akira again, right?" Anger reek her voice.
"I didn't say so, we shouldn't be doing this that was all I said." I ruffled my hair, she moved her hand to touch my chest but I held it midway.
"Please Katerina, you should behave yourself and let me drive you home in peace." This time my voice is low and deep.
"You don't want to take me as your chosen mate anymore?" She asked having her brows furrowed, and tears welled up her eyes.
"I didn't say so, I said six months, only six months and everything will be normal."
"Fine, I could wait, it's three months left from the six months, right?" I nodded to her without saying a word. Three months left? Do I want what I had with Akira to end? The Goddess knows I love Akira, I don't know if I could live without Akira but I know there is no future for us.
I turned to the first lane and then I sped up, Katerina didn't complain, she just rested on the chair, I looked at her, maybe I was being unfair to her, goddess knows I had no intention of hurting anyone but I knew one must surely get hurt.
Maybe, I shouldn't have branded Akira in the first place knowing that we couldn't be together. She wouldn't know that we are mates, I should have just rejected her instead of making things too complicated. "Here we are?" I announced when I turned at her building, she had been living alone in the penthouse for the past weeks, if she was not in her Pack she would be here.
"Wouldn't you come in?"
"No, I don't think I should be doing that."
"Please..."
"Katerina stop making it hard for me, you know we can't be intimate."
"Why? Do you have a mate that kissing me will affect her?"
"Katerina stop that, you are pushing me too far and it's suffocating."
"Fine, drive safely." She said pulling the car door before she tilted her head to me. "Please, don't go back to the party, don't go running to Akira, she had nothing to offer, she is only going to bring trouble and expose us to humans." I nodded to her knowing it was too late because Akira already knew that creations like us existed and we were just like one of them. "Logan..." She called again. "Why do we have to wait for another three months?" I shut my eyes, Katerina is getting too annoying and it's frustrating.
"It's because I say so."
"Then take me with you, I feel lonely here, I have no one to talk to."
"Katerina, go back home if you are bored here, no one forces you here and you don't even have any business here, your brother is still the head of your family company, till your dad has transmitted his power, you have no business to do." My words came out in roll and it's cold, it's a hint for her to leave.
"Fine, I will just stay here, and promise me you will not..."
"Katerina go inside now." My frustrations were at their peak and again, I let out an Alpha command, and she ran into the building. I Huff in relief.
When I turned around, I drove straight to Akira's apartment, I was banging hard on the door and no one was in sight, I hit harder on the door. "Akira..." I called out to her. "Akira...please open up, we need to talk." I kept banging on the door and no answer, I grabbed my phone to call her but her number was switched off, it was then I realized that my messages weren't sent, I only typed the message without sending it. "Dammit... Logan what the heck is wrong with you." I curse, get into my car, and drive home, Meredith was about to get out of the building when I drove in.
"Alpha..."
"I can't find Akira, I was there at her place but I knocked and knocked no one answered,"
"Maybe, she doesn't want to talk to you."
"No, you can't say that, I need to talk to Akira, I need to know if she is safe."
"Safe?" My beta asked sarcastically, "Did you think of that when you were fucking..."
"Hey watch your words Meredith, I am still the alpha."
"Yeah, you are my alpha but I am beginning to get confused with the male standing here and thinking where did my alpha go, if he was the one standing here, he would had know fucking another female would put his mate in pain."
"Scold me if you want but we have to look for Akira, I don't know what might have happened to them."
"Shouldn't you be happy that Akira is gone?"
"Are you crazy? Why would I be happy that Akira is gone, I can't lose her. I need to see her, I need to reassure her that nothing of such will happen again."
"Does it mean you have chosen Akira, and we are declaring her as the Luna."
"What the fuck are you saying? I said find Akira not asked me questions"
"Will you choose her?"
"Akira is mine."
"And Katerina?"
"Oh goddess, did you hit your head on something, I need Katerina for the heir. I need to produce one and that is what Akira can't give."
"Alpha..."
"Stop, your alpha is commanding you, you should look for Akira and bring her home," I growl at my beta, he still wants to say something when the news on television flashes, and my eyes dilate in shock. “Damn it.
