Unknown's POV
"Have you found any female with the necklace," I growl at my assistant, my eyes were cold and my aura was deadly, I could kill to get that necklace back, not just the necklace but my little girl
"Not yet?"
"I told you put a fucking ransom on it and you would find it pretty fast." I slammed the table as anger surged through me.
"I did, it's like..."
"Don't give me an excuse, found the necklace and you will find the little girl wearing it, I am sure, she still has it, she must be seventeen going to eighteen, it's a few days to her eighteen birthday, I want to see the little girl," I was almost breaking down again when I walked out of the office, I know I shouldn't be doing this putting ransom on her will prone her to danger but I was desperate, it’s almost eighteen fucking years, how can I forget that cold night, that had haunted my dream, that night my life was shattered, I was naive and young, I just had my seventeen birthday, the same day, I lost my parents in a car accident, and my aunt wasn't close to anything nice to me, she was mad that my grandfather was showing me all the love and affection, she wanted me out of the way, but she didn't know how to go about it, she hated me but didn't want to have my blood on her hand.
And then I gave her the opportunity she was looking for, I got fucking pregnant with a boy I met at one of my vocations, he was much older, he was in his twenties, but I love him, he made me laugh and he gave me the sparkling and happiness, I never got from my aunty, at first we started with just holding hands, later, we started experimenting with a kiss and then we finally had sex. I like the feelings I get, so I saw nothing wrong with it until I found out that I was pregnant.
My mind drifted through those painful memories and regret, as I sat at the bench in a playground, letting my thoughts wander on my reckless and stupid decisions.
"I think I am pregnant," I said biting my lower lips,"
"You are pregnant?" I nodded to him while fidgeting with the hem of my shirt.
"Yes, but I am scared, grandpa will kill me, he had dreams for me, and my aunty, will not let me get away with..."
"Run away with me," he had whispered, his voice a soft caress against my ear. "Let's leave this place and never look back."
I remembered the way my heart had pounded in my chest, a wild drumbeat of excitement and fear. I didn't think he would suggest that, I thought he was going to ask me to marry him, since he is in his twenties but on second thought, this is the best, grandpa would never approve and the idea of living without him was a nightmare. He was a dazzling dream I couldn't resist.
So I gave in and ran away with my supposed happy ever after, it didn't take long before a year came rushing, my baby was only a month old, and I was cradling a baby girl in my arms. My Little Nadine, with her father's eyes and her grandmother's smile. Those months that I was pregnant and with the arrival of our little girl it had been a bubble of happiness that seemed like it would last forever and I was finally going to beat my chest. That I didn't make bad decisions by going with him.
But it hadn't. My sweetheart had changed. The caring loving male I had fallen in love with had grown restless and was no longer fun of me. He began to leave for days at a time, disappearing without a word, returning with vague excuses and empty promises.
I saw myself arguing with him whenever he came around, "We need you here, our baby needs you."
He had looked at me with eyes that seemed to see right through me, his expression unreadable. "I can't stay, I don't want to be here anymore. I can't be the man you want me to be."
My heart shattered, I could not process what he said and he left but I thought he wasn't coming back again. This was the longest time he left and didn't return but then one day, I went out to buy groceries for my little Nadine and me, although life wasn't easy, I was still willing to sacrifice my all for my little girl, she was all I got.
I knew I wasn't going to take long, so I decided to leave my Nadine and hurried down only to come back meeting an empty baby crib, my little girl was gone with a note in the crib, "I am sorry, I had to take my daughter, she needed to grow up with her sister."
Pain spread across my chest and I was having a heart stroke but I still wanted to look for my daughter, I wandered through the rooms, calling out for Nadine but there was no answer. Panic clawed at my throat as I searched, my heart pounding in my chest.
Tears streamed down my face as I held on to the baby crib and cried, just eighteen but life had thrown a lot to me. The sense of loss was a physical pain, tearing at my heart. I fell to my knees in the cold room calling out to my daughter.
"Come back!" I screamed, my voice echoing across the room, "Please, come back!"
The memory began to dissolve, the thoughts blurring into darkness. My eyes fluttered open, and I found myself hugging a female tight, her hand moving and scrolling my back, "Nadine..." I called pulling slowly, to see who my hand was wrapped around, only to realize that I was holding a stranger too tight. "Sorry..." I murmured, distancing myself from him
"It's fine, everyone had pain locked up within them, so don't get embarrassed," I gave her a slight nod, pulling the handkerchief that she was stretching out to me.
"Thank you and I hope I didn't hurt you," she smiled giving that lovely dentition, that smile reminded me of someone.
"No, you didn't..."
"Akira..." I heard someone call out to her, her name was Akira, and she had that welcoming smile and it made me think if my daughter was here, she would be the same age as this young lady.
It had been years since I had seen that asshole and my Nadine. After they had left, I had tried to move on, building a new life from my shattered pieces, even though I am back to my Grandpa, I still felt empty. The wounds had never fully healed, and the memories still haunted me, I haven't been able to tell anyone that I had a baby, not even those in charge of finding the necklace, my family heirloom.
