Chapter 155
Akira's POV
"Logan..." At first, he couldn't recognize the voice but as soon as he tilted his head to the door, to see who his calling out to him, his jaw dropped as he detached himself from me, like I was some leper, almost immediately Katerina's face came into view.
My eyes met with Katerina's, her elegance got me, something I hadn't seen in her all this time that we had come in contact.
For some odd reason, I felt Katerina was more of a Luna than I am. I think she holds more grace and authority that befits a true Luna unlike me.
A pathetic human without a wolf. She glared at me, if looks could kill, I might have dropped dead already. I swallow hard adjusting my gown.
"Katerina.. what are you doing here?"
"Can't your future Luna, visit her Alpha?" I could see her stress the word, Luna, my heart sank, he was truly picking her over me, she wasn't blabbing when she said they were having their union soon.
Wolfie chuckle a bit as he move back creating more distance between us, "I didn't say so." He runs his hand on his nape.
"That means you miss me?" My gaze moved to Wolfie hoping he would say no but he bobbed his head up and down like a toddler who is excited over his favorite candy.
"Is that a yes or a no?" She asked almost staring at me as if the questions were asked to prove a point to me, that Wolfie no longer needed me and that he had picked her over me.
"Of course... Yes... I missed you..." Feeling like the third wheel in the room, I decided to make my way to my section of the office, of wish I know that my eyes wouldn't escape whatever they were going to do, or should I say I will get a free porn show.
"Logan..." I heard Meredith's voice as he pulled the door, and my eyes snapped back to the direction of Katerina and Wolfie only to see that Katerina and Wolfie were locking lips with Wolfie's hand wrapped around her waist.
My heartbeat increases and pain hits my chest as I watch Wolfie's lips dance around Katerina's lips when he just finished kissing me. I felt cheated and worthless at the same time. My eyes were already welled up with tears. This wasn't the first time, I was just there watching at the corner when they both made out but this was the first time, I felt like I had lost Wolfie for real, and I felt like I was the other woman in Wolfie's life.
"Katerina!" Meredith murmured having that shocking expression on his face as his gaze moved to me.
"Why are you staring like you've seen a ghost?" Katerina frees her lips from Wolfie's.
"Sorry, I wasn't expecting you to be here while..."
"Why this bitch is here?" This time, she refers to me, I swallow hard and avert my gaze while burying my eyes on the ground. "You can't talk? As a beta aren't you supposed to be protecting the interest of your Luna?" Meredith cleared his throat wanting to say something when Katerina's voice came up. "No, I bet you are taking sides with this fling of your Alpha."
I parted my lips to explain and clear the air and tell her nothing was going on between Wolfie and me anymore. I was ready to take all the blame, saying that I seduced Wolfie. "It's all my fault, Katerina... Please let me explain. Today I want to..."
Slap...
"Ow..." I winched in pain as Katerina gave me a hard slap on my face with all her might. I heard a growl, but I couldn't tell between Wolfie's and Meredith's growl because my brain was too preoccupied with the pain in my cheeks. "I understand, you are mad. I would have been mad had I been in your shoes. But you have to understand that I have no plans of taking Wolfie from you, I might be in love with him before but that doesn't mean I will come between Wolfie and you. And Wolfie will not cheat on you and I also have a boyfriend now, so you have nothing to worry about."
"Kissing you, isn't that enough cheating? Are you expecting me to wait till he starts fucking you and I get the unfaithfulness mark that is when you will realize that he is cheating on me? You are seducing him under my nose but newsflash, I am not letting you take him away from me." I stared at her confused, hearing her spout those words like venom. Although I was breaking inside I tried to continue to defend myself.
"I am not stealing anything from under your nose or whatever, Katerina. He isn't yours in the first place, if he was yours, the goddess or whatever you call your creator, she wouldn't have given him to me as a mate...."
"Akira..." Wolfie growled, my gaze swatted to him, I could feel his muscles clenched and his teeth gritted, I swallowed hard before I averted my gaze from him to Katerina. I felt my heart shrink knowing that Wolfie wasn't even going to take my side for a second.
"Fine, I know you rejected me already and I am no longer your mate, and you are picking her because she is the perfect wolf and I am a nonsensical human but you once said I am your world, the mate you wanted and I make you feel special, I saw the happiness in your eyes when you where with me, that was something Katerina couldn't give you. Gosh, Katerina was nothing but trouble to you. She shattered you and you still want this troublesome female, because she is a wolf and I am human?"
"You know nothing Akira, but I am glad that in the mix of your dull head, there is just one thing, you could recognize, that you are a worthless human while I am a wolf. You were just something to fill his void. And you forget that I am his world. I complete him, not you because I could give him what you can't give him." She said caressing her tummy with a victorious smile. My eyes squinting, "I could give him an heir, which you can't give him."
Just like that, my heart shattered, I couldn't get pregnant, I couldn't give him an heir. Her lips curved into a smug grin, as my gaze moved to Wolfie, with so many questions in my head. Was it the pup? Did he need to produce an heir? Do wolves and humans have the ability to reproduce? If they do, what will they reproduce?
She stood a step closer causing my eyes to avert from Wolfie who was standing there cold, he couldn't even defend me or even stop Katerina from saying those mean words to me.
"So go ahead, flirt with him, give your body free to my mate the entire working hours, because that is all you will get while he comes crawling back into my bed, in the night, you will be left with a cold pillow to hug. I am his home. A home where we could have our family, where we could fulfill the dreams of the pack. Do you think he will pick you over his pack? He is an Alpha and for an Alpha, the pack is everything, his life, his home, and his all. So feel free to borrow my mate, stay as long as you want to stay but don't blame me when I pop the words, you have overstayed your welcome because I will do that and no one will stop me as his Luna." My eyes tilted to Wolfie, his expression was still the same, he didn't care that his girlfriend was saying all those hurtful words to me.
Tears welled up in my eyes, I knew just a single blink those tears would drop voluntarily and my whole being would be shattered but something in me wanted to assume, that Logan didn't mean any of those, it was just Katerina blabbering as if she owned him, I tilted my head to him, "Wolfie..." I walked towards him but he moved backward until he reached his desk.
His actions alone broke my heart but I swallowed my humiliation and parted my lips to say something but he beat me to it, "Akira, it's over don't fight it, I can't be with you anymore, I am sorry but this is the end of the road for us."
