Akira's POV
"He is my..."
"Didn't they tell you that my company doesn't accept females bringing lovers to my company..."
I interrupted him, "He is not my boyfriend, he is my ex-boyfriend. We broke up a couple of weeks ago and I didn't even invite him here, I am surprised to see him, I apologized for that, and I promise that he is not going to show up here again. Please don't fire me and for yesterday, I didn't mean to..." My voice trailed off because I didn't even have an excuse for my actions. I don't want to be fired, panic hit me.
He grabbed the telephone on the desk, without moving his eyes from me, I didn't know who he was calling, so I just shut my eyes, hoping this was not the end of the road for me.
"Hey, I need you to tell everyone under the security department that the fellow that just got into the company building saying that, he is asking from one Ms. Akira Ross, banned from entering the building from now onwards."
"Noted Sir..." The fellow from the other side of the phone said, he dropped his phone and averted his gaze from me. I looked drained and I was almost passing out.
"Are you okay?" He asked without staring at me, I wanted to say yes, when the door flew open, the lady from the previous day, yes, she was the one that sent me out and on my way out, I heard the staff murmuring that their boss's fiancee is around, could she be the one, she just enter his office without knocking or appointment.
"Logan..." She called as she hurried to him, almost at the side of Wolfie, she tilted her head and looked at me. Her eyes send a dagger at me.
Staring at her now, I could see that she was the epitome of beauty and elegance
"Katerina..."
That name fell like a bomb on my ear, that was the name I heard and I thought it was mere speculation.
No, it's not, if he is smiling sheepishly and she is approaching him without him frowning or trying to push her away then she must be the mystic woman that is staff are blabbering about.
"Oh c'mon, why are you just sitting there, you are acting like you have seen a ghost, don't you miss me." She asked before closing the gap between them, she embraces him but his hand didn't move to embrace her as well and I saw her lips Falling to his, immediately I turned, this was a hint to leave I was no longer welcome here, they needed privacy, so I hurried out to my section and it was when I settle in my office that I realized that my section was just opposite his and I could see everything that is been done in his office.
'Fiancee? If he had a fiancee why did he ask me to pretend to be his girlfriend?' I thought mentally, but it's none of my business, I try not to look at them and what they are doing but it's not working, I hit the desk unruly before I grabbed the folder that was on my desk before walking out of the office in anger.
It's a tiring day, I didn't want to think about Wolfie and his annoying Fiancee, who is acting like she is more special than everyone in the whole world. She is not even beautiful.
That is it, I am jealous of her, for some stupid reason, I didn't think that she deserved him, 'If she doesn't deserve him, then who deserves him?' my inner self scolded me while I rolled my eyes
"Akira stop it. You can't be developing feelings for him? If you do, you will get a sack letter." I scolded myself killing whatever feelings that was geminating in me.
As I packed the last document that I was to drop on his table when I entered his office, no one was there, I guess he and the lady had gone out.
I bid my goodbye to Ma. Mariam, as I make my way out of the building, the day's stress made me forget everything about Ethan and his tantrum this morning.
Although most people had left the company when I was done, there were still a few workers there. I made my way in hurried so I could be able to get an Uber on time since I didn't have a car, and no one was picking me up, I was just at the garage when someone jumped out of nowhere blocking my way, the familiar figure startled me and my hand went to my chest, I clutched my eyes trying to control the thudding of my heart.
"What the heck are you doing here?"
"C'mon dear, I told you, I want to talk to you, I deserve to be heard, what happened to the words, 'everyone is entitled to a fair hearing? I deserve to explain myself, how can I explain myself, if you never give me the audience?" Ethan asked, he was looking unkempt, I know this whole look was just for me to pity him, but I am done, I am not going back there, I am not letting him fool me. It's over, he should move on.
"Fine, you do but not here, this is my workplace, and I don't want to get fired."
"You know..." He wanted to take my hand but I swatted my hand from him, taking a step back. "...don't be like that, don't push me away and act like I am some kind of leper."
"Go straight to the point, what do you want, I am sure that your fiancee wouldn't like to see you with a girl at this time and I too wouldn't like my boyfriend to see me with a boy at this hour of the day, standing in the dark."
"Babe, you are dating someone else?"
"What were you expecting? You left me broken, I was a fool thinking that I was in a relationship and that one day, you would pop the question, if I will marry you, not knowing that you have a betrothed someone that your family picked for you, someone that you love. Aren't you the unfair one here?"
"I know I goof badly that is the reason, I was desperate to have a conversation with you, I want to come on a clean slate and start again, let's bury the past, let's start anew."
"Don't you get, we can't be doing this anymore, I got a boyfriend now, and there is no way I will take you back."
"Is that it, you are going to replace me just like that? I spend a lot for you, I pay your family bills, I was fair enough to pay all your mother's gambling debts and your sister's luxurious lifestyle, I foot them and now you want to trash me. You are acting like I am nothing. Akira, you can't do that to me, I love you and I know you still love me, you are only trying to push me away, I know you are not dating anyone, you don't have a boyfriend."
