Chapter 132
Akira's POV
"Alpha is Akira here, she had a call from…" Meredith stopped in his tracks and turned away from us. "sorry to interrupt." I pushed Wolfie slightly from me, having burned cheeks while distancing myself from Wolfie. He smirked before he let go of me.
"What is it?" Wolfie's stern voice came up and Meredith turned and looked at us. I couldn't even stare at his face even though he didn't see us kissing, our position had shown if he didn't show up we would have been kissing already.
"It's alpha Caspian" My eyes bulged as Wolfie glared at me in suspicion, I raised my hand in the air ready to defend myself. "He said Amelia Hart was there and she wanted your number or to speak to you, I don't know but out of the two he said your number isn't going through so he decided to call the office if you are here." Meredith had said a lot of things but it was Amelia Hart's name that had caught my attention. My heart palpitations had increased and they were thudding too loud that I felt they were going to jump out of my mouth.
In a second, I heard a million thoughts running in my head and no one was favorable. "Give me the phone." Wolfie's voice grabbed me from my thoughts and met Meredith's hand midair, grabbing the phone. Wolfie stared at me in confusion and forced a chuckle.
"Don't worry about me, I will take it."
"What? You want to speak with Caspian" My eyes moved to Wolfie he was acting like a possessive wolf. Of course, that is what he is, a wolf.
"I..." I parted my lips and I shut it almost immediately, I didn't know how to explain to him that I wanted to speak to Caspian because of Amelia Hart.
"Go on and answer me and how did Amelia know he is close to you?"
"I think Roe told her, she saw Roe and I are the auction." My voice was low. "And she assumed..." I paused, I didn't want to take that part, that my biological mother assumed Caspian and I were together.
"Assume what?" He growled and his eyes were flicking white before he sighed waving his hand to Meredith and shaking his head. Meredith turned around and left "Never mind..." His voice was stern. "go on and answer..." I smiled wanting to ask the call but his voice came up again, "You should put it on speaker." Caspian was already calling for the second time, I pressed the receiving button.
"Hello Akira, how are you?"
"Hi, Caspian... I am fine and you." I tried to sound as normal as I could, so he doesn't notice that someone else was listening to me.
"I am okay? Sorry I called through Meredith, it's just that I got a call from someone this morning demanding for you again."
"Amelia Hart?" I asked.
"You guess right, the young woman seemed to think that we are too close and I could always reach you," I smirked staring at Wolfie's reaction from my peripheral vision, he was still looking very calm even though my body was shivering with his gaze burning on my skin.
"Um..." I didn't comment on that.
"I don't know, she called and she said she wanted to meet with you."
"Meet with me?" My forehead creases.
"Yeah, I think she suspected that you are related to her, probably her daughter." My heartbeat increased, and my free hand was trembling. Nervousness was creeping in.
"Daughter?" I managed to speak, even though I knew I was her daughter, I was still pretty much scared of the female.
"Although, she didn't say she looked desperate and wanted to speak with you, so she called, she asked if I could arrange so she could meet you, she had something very important to discuss with you."
"Oh..." My voice trailed off, I didn't even know what to reply to him, and my eyes moved to Wolfie.
"She said she would be grateful if you would meet her by tomorrow at my office or tonight."
"I am sorry Caspian, I..."
"Stop that, Akira, you were dying to meet her when you found out that she is your mother." Wolfie's voice echoed in the background and my breath ceased, I could hear a slight discomforting sound from the background of Caspian.
"Mother and why is Logan with you?" I know Caspian, the last time, we spoke after I told him that Wolfie and I were now an item, I also told him that, we had breakup and that I couldn't date Wolfie and he didn't seem to love me enough because I did a human girl.
"Oh Caspian, she works with me, have you forgotten?"
"No, but I don't expect her to be with you this early..."
"Caspian, stop telling me when my staff should be in my office or otherwise." He scoffed.
"Fine, not arguing that just give the phone back to Akira."
"Just talk, it's on speaker," Wolfie said pulling me into his legs, I let out a yelp of surprise. I wasn't expecting him to do that.
"Sorry Akira, if you feel scared that she is showing interest in you but you wouldn't blame her, for wanting to spend time with her daughter, if you had found out that she is your mother, probably feel the same too, she only wanted to bond with you."
"I want that too, just that I am scared."
"It's okay to be scared but you have nothing to worry about, I am here"
"Ahem..." Wolfie cleared his throat, "I could protect her, you don't need to act like her knight." He scoffed, I could feel the anger in Wolfie's voice.
"Fine, but what you say?" Caspian asked.
"Fine tomorrow."
"Good then, I will come pick you up tomorrow."
"No need, I will drive her there."
"But..."
"Caspian, stop being annoying." He growled.
"Fine, have it your way, I don't see reason, you are getting too possessive when you and she have no..." He pressed the end button before Caspian could pick the last words. My eyes snapped to Wolfie, he was feeling uneasy suddenly.
"Wolfie..." Slowly he moved me from his legs and stood from the chair. My eyes didn't leave him.
"Stop staring at me like that, like you are trying to read my mind."
"I wish I could, so I don't have to worry about things you were hiding from me."
"Akira?" He growled before he scrubbed his hand across his face. "I am not hiding anything, I told you, that I am a wolf and that is the only secret that I am keeping from you."
"Why do I feel you have many secrets that you are hiding from me?" He looks at me blankly. "Wolfie?" I called again. "why can't I feel your emotions? Vida said wolves feel their mate's emotions and the same goes for their mate." He parted his lips to say something, "Don't tell me because I am a human because the mate bond didn't limit me because I am a human." I walked towards him and cupped his face.
"There is no secret Akira and stop listening to that naughty Vida." He said kissing my lips, I wanted to push him away but I knew I could not resist him, so I basked in his kiss before I pulled suddenly from him "Akira?" He protests.
"We are at the office."
"Fine, let's go home then." My eyes bulged seeing him picking his stuff, so we could leave. "Wolfie..."
"What? Let's go home unless you want us to do it here."
