Chapter 097
Akira's POV
I slammed the door to Vida's apartment with a force that shook the walls, rattling the picture frames and causing the sound to echo down the hallway. I leaned against the door, breathing hard, my heart pounding with a mixture of frustration and desperation. Tears pricked my eyes, remembering how Meredith and Mr. Williamson kicked me out like I am some stranger, "damn them all," I curse hitting the wall of the room, "ouch..." I screamed holding my legs.
"Hey, Akira, what is going on? What's up with the tantrum?” she asked falling on the couch. "Hey tell me, what is going on? Stop pacing around," she sighed.
"Meredith kick me out,"
"Who is Meredith?" She asked and I ran my hand on my temple, she didn't know Meredith.
"Wolfie's assistant?"
"The male that dropped you up a few weeks ago?" She asked
"Yeah, he is Wolfie's assistant? Is he even his assistant? I guess they are in some kind of cult."
"Cult?" She asked walking to the dining to grab the juice on the table. I parted my lips to say something but her voice came up, "So they are no longer werewolves now cultists?" Her voice was taunting and I sighed falling to the couch, before my tears dropped.
"It's all my fault, he got hurt, if I hadn't insisted that I go to that auction with Casper to get my necklace back, and ended up being kidnapped..." I sighed. "...all of this wouldn't have happened, Wolfie wouldn't have been hurt and I would not have found out he was a werewolf, I saw him shift from his human form to wolf, they were real, werewolves are real, Wolfie is one of them, he said he is the Alpha..."
"Wow, he is the leader, like a king?" Vida asked as curiosity filled her face, I nodded. "So you are his Luna?" My brows furrow, I didn't hear anything about that, so I shake my head, "... I am his mate, not his Luna, he already branded me and..." I narrate everything in frustration as my eyes wet with tears, everything hurt, she wasn't reacting, she still had that neutral expression apart from the part when I told her that I was kidnapped, he being an alpha and she flinched showing concern the other part about the wolf she didn't comment on that, "I should hate him right?" Vida looks at me, this time with a furrowed brows.
"Hate him?" She asked.
"Yes, I should hate him, I can't date a wolf, I will not date a man..."
"So you break up with him?" She asked, staring at my neck, "I see he marked you, I thought when you..."
"Vida, I need your help,” I said suddenly, my voice tight with urgency. "He got hurt because of me, he fought those wolves that attacked me, he was badly hurt and then Meredith throw me out of his house, they wouldn't let me see him, and I need to know if he is alright.”
She looked at me with a blank expression, “Fine, you think it's your fault that everything happened to him, everything was messed up but it's not your fault, but if you are worried about him, you don't have to worry about him because his wolf will heal him," she said nonchalantly.
"Vida stop this drama, I don't know what you are talking about I saw him passed out and I was sent out by Meredith, I wanted to stay but he didn't let me."
"Fine, What do you need me to do?” I let out a breath of relief, smiling sheepishly at her before I moved close to her and grabbed her hand.
“I need you to go to Wolfie's place and see what’s going on. But you can’t go as yourself. I don't know if Meredith would recognize you, so you'll have to disguise yourself somehow.”
She chuckled softly. “A disguise? Seriously? Like I’m in some spy movie? Are you insane, I don't even know his house. And who says I am going there?” she pushed my hand slightly from her body but didn't shift from me.
“Vida, please, I’m serious,” I snapped at her, my voice tinged with desperation. “I need to know what’s happening. If Wolfie already wakes up or something else is going on, I need you to find out. Please, you’re my only hope right now.”
"Are you crazy? I thought you said you can't date a werewolf, why are you worried about him, you are supposed to hate him and move on, so why are you so concerned?"
"It's because he saved me, he risked his life for me,"
"So all this is about guilt?"
"No Vida, I love him," I snarled and she looked at me, I wiped my face, "I know I shouldn't love him, but I don't understand myself, even after finding out that he is a wolf, I still wanted him, I tell myself multiple times I can't love a wolf, now, I found myself hurting when he is hurt, I love him, I don't know, I just want him to be safe," she bit her lower lips, “Okay, fine. I’ll do it. I will have to disguise as a delivery man.”
"A man?" I asked, and she nodded to me.
"Yes, hiding under the disguise of a male will remove all suspicion"
"What if you get caught?" She looks at me.
"Then I will just tell them that you sent me," my eyes bulge. "silly, I am not going to get caught, have you forgotten that I am the princess of disguise?" she said having that playful grin, I smiled at her. "I have to dress up, so I'm leaving," she said before walking inside in a few minutes, Vida came out with a hoodie, sunglasses, a wig, and beards.
"Vida, you look like a man?" She smiles, winking at me.
"Like a man interested in you, baby, can I have your digit?" She said flicking her tongue across her lips and I giggled. "Silly? Probably I look like someone who just stepped out of a crime drama, right?” she squinted her eyes, I laughed more, "I got to go, so I could get a package or anything, so I don't show up without anything, looking like an idiot and a spy," she said.
When Vida left I sat on the couch, waiting for Vida to call, nervousness almost killed me, scared for Vida and thinking of the worst scenario that must have happened to Wolfie. I was still in my thoughts when my phone buzzed, jolting out of my thoughts pressing the answering button.
“I’m here,” she whispered on the other end of the line. “I’m outside his building, the security is tight but they let me in, almost at the door and I haven't seen Meredith or what you called him, and fuck this place is beautiful.”
"Be careful, Vida, and focus,” I whispered, my stomach twisting with anxiety. “Make sure to look out for Meredith and avoid him.”
"I will,” she said grimly. “But I’ll be fine. Just hang tight, okay?”
I nodded, even though she couldn’t see me. “Okay. Call me as soon as you find out anything.”
“I will. Wish me luck and don't hang up." She said and I smiled, I knew she had her earpiece on.
"Hey, are you the delivery man?"
"Yes, I am here to deliver the package," her deep baritone voice almost made me laugh.
"C'mon in, the boss didn't say anything about that but I don't know if someone else did, but just sit here," I heard that voice, I know it, Mr. Williamson.
"Alright sir," She said, I heard footsteps retrieving, I guess she was alone now.
"Have you seen him?" I asked.
"No, I am about to sneak into the hallway, so I could..."
"Who are you?" I heard a deep voice, my stomach churned with dread. "Can't you talk?"
"I'm..." She hung up the phone without saying anything.
