Chapter 011
Akira's POV
I was already mad at his actions and his words were degrading me already. I pushed the chair in anger and headed to the door when my phone pinged, I brought out my phone, its mother again, and I sighed inwardly as I read the content of the message.
[Akira, where the heck are you? You left without dropping the money I requested last night, since you didn't drop the money, I have decided to use the water bills for my stuff, so if I were you, I would look for money to pay for it before they cut the water supply.]
I shut my eyes, I needed money, I shouldn't be acting too important, when I have nothing, just maybe, I should swallow my pride and accept everything that he is going to give me instead of acting too proud, when I don't have anything.
"You should make your decision fast before I change my mind and close the offer." I swallowed my saliva as I tilted my head to him.
If my mother hadn't been leeching me off my money, I should have been able to have enough to care for my needs. "Yes, I will take the offer. Let me have your card." This time, I said with a malicious grin beside my lips, if he thinks he can humiliate me then I am going to give him a dose of his own medicine.
"What is funny?" He snarled as he stretched his card to me, it's a black card and this is my first time holding one.
"I wondered what you wanted me to do. Cry?" I asked still having that malicious grin on my lips, maybe, I should act crazy like Vida sometimes, I shouldn't take everything too seriously in life.
Meanwhile, Meredith, who was standing there with a voice void of emotions hadn't stopped moving his gaze from me to Mr. Wolfie and then back to me. I know he wanted to laugh at Mr. Wolfie and his childish act but the truth is, he was just keeping a poker face.
"Just go with her," Wolfie said without emotions. The very moment I got out of the company with Catherine, I grabbed my phone and placed a call to Vida.
"Hey darling, are you already fired?" Her voice came thundering from the other side of the phone, I pressed my phone on the handset.
"Why will my boss fire me?" I asked with my gaze on Catherine, I wanted to see if she was listening to my conversation but she wasn't looking at me.
"It's because you called him your boyfriend in public..."
I interrupted her. "Shut up, I didn't call you for that, are you game for shopping?"
"Shopping?" She screamed as if she had been lying on the bed before, my words had made her fully, awake, and had jumped off the bed.
"Yes, shopping, my boss is generous enough to give me his black card and asked that I go shopping, so are you game?" I asked maliciously.
"Shopping during working hours? I was expecting him to fire you not the other way round, I thought they said he is a monster and that he..."
"Vida..." I called in frustration while rolling my eyes, she was talking too much.
"Fine, I am on my way." She said finally.
"Good girl, I give you five minutes to get to Mega shopping mall."
"Mega shopping Mall, that is like the most..."
"I know, my boss is rich and he likes everyone looking elegant around him, so stop talking, if you don't want the offer to close on you."
"I know boss." She said sarcastically before she ended the call, I tilted my head to Catherine, giving her that girlish smile of mine.
"Sorry, I just wanted my friend to join us, hope the boss won't get mad." Catherine smiles before her hand rests on mine.
"I don't know but my cousin seems to be in a good mood, I wondered what you did to my cousin but I guess you were doing it perfectly well. First of all, you called him your boyfriend in public and you bully him into driving you off that location, gosh, you need to see him yesterday when he returns, he was spitting fire and then I found out from Meredith, that the girl was the new assistant that he employed yesterday, I just felt sorry for her because I know that he is going to terminate the contract but fuck, he did not and now you disobey him and he didn't fire you, you talk back at him and you didn't get your ass kick, and to think the female that put him in a tight corner, is shopping with his black card, you should be special to him because that cousin of mine is a big bad wolf."
"A big bad wolf, is he a wolf?" I asked, Catherine nodded to me. "He is a wolf?" I asked all as I became apprehensive, my face was covered with fear and then she tittered suddenly.
"Gotcha," she said and I laughed as well, running my hand through my face as I wiped it, naughty me, how can I be having stupid thoughts, a wolf can not be a man, a wolf is a wolf. "Why do you have that disgusting look?"
"It's because I can't possibly wrap my head around the thought that a wolf is a man, a man is a man and a wolf is a wolf, so I don't think that a human could be a wolf."
"What if such a creature exists, as we hear about vampires, witches, and zombies?"
"Stop kidding me, I know that those are just movies and I don't watch them because I don't believe they exist, it's just writers and they are crazy fantasy," I said taking a step, as she pushed the door of the shop.
"Hope, I am not late?" Vida's voice came from behind.
"Almost, come over here." I gesture my hand for her to come closer to us, in two big stride, she is right beside us. "This is Catherine, and Catherine this is my best friend more like a sister, her name is Vida." I introduced them to each other. "That being said, let's get to the business of the day," I said moving to one of the wears, it's a plain dress but I think it's nice. "I think this will suit me," I said touching the plain gown.
"Ahem..." Catherine clears her throat and I look at her. "Hmm, I don't think that Mr. Logan will be pleased with this. He had an excellent taste for fashion and hated plain simple wear. The man wouldn't appreciate it if the clothing is below bet." Catherine said, I know she has chosen her words so she doesn't annoy me.
"Fine then, I will just let you pick while I fit into them," I said, folding my hand under my bosom as stand beside Vida.
"I can't believe that Logan asked you to shop for wear for yourself?" Vida said, I shrugged my shoulder.
"Yeah, he is a generous boss right, not like the monster we think he is."
"Is he handsome, have he already shown you his face?"
"No, what will I be doing with his face? He is my boss and not my boyfriend and his handsomeness is an issue for me. Anyways, he is not handsome, he is ugly." I said lying through my teeth. Catherine almost choked on my words but I ignored her. Catherine picked a few more wears before she turned her gaze to me.
"Did he give you a price range or how many you should purchase?" She asked.
"No, he just said get something expensive, good taste and perfect..." I said.
"Wow, then you should buy something very expensive for yourself, I mean he is a billionaire it's not like he is going to be noticed, even if you buy the entire shop." I almost wanted to laugh at my naughty friend's words.
"Ten most expensive handbags, ten pairs of shoes, pieces of jewelry, I think diamond, or probably sapphire or maybe emerald, what do you think Catherine? I guess he likes that as well." I asked with a malicious grin on my face and Catherine's mouth formed an O. "He is loaded right and he asked for it, he is been generous right?"
Catherine didn't say a word, she just shrugged her shoulder, while she picked more of the wear and then let me fit, "This is perfect Akira, you should wear more of this." Catherine said as she joined me in the fitting room. I smiled turning around for Vida and Catherine.
"Gosh, your figure reminded me of one celebrity, if she was much older, I would I thought that she was your mom," she said looking at me suspiciously.
"Who is that?"
