Chapter 077
Logan's POV
I choked when she said that she would call me a wolf, for a second I felt like she knew that I was a wolf, she ran her hand over my back, "Sorry I didn't mean to rattle you, and don't get offended with my choice of pet name, I kind of love the way your name sound, Wolfie, so I just Scrabble the last part and abbreviated it to Wolf. And apart from that, do you want to know the other reason that I chose that?" She asked, I ran my hand on my temple, while I squinted my eyes, observing her expression as I spoke.
"Is it because you think I am a wolf?" She chortled, I stared at her confused, and she gagged her lips with her hand.
"Sorry, you are very funny, I didn't say that because I think you are one, you can't be a wolf, you are a man... Yuck..." She had that disgusting expression like she was about to puke with the mere mention that I was a wolf man.
"It's not bad to be a wolfman, you know," she hit my shoulder slightly still having that distill on her face.
"Stop talking nonsense, I could change the name if you don't feel comfortable with it and I only call you that because you are like a wolf." I didn't even know what expression to give, because I couldn't place her comment on any of the scales, if she was for it or against it, so I just gave a poker face, she paused, looking up at me. My eyes were focused on her and I wasn't moving my gaze from her.
I stared at her, wishing I could invade her head and get all the things playing on her head but I don't have that power. She smiled, pulling my hand, “You know, sometimes I think about how strong wolves are. How they can face the harshest winters, protect their pack, stand tall against any threat, they are powerful, and the way they move effortlessly and fast makes me wish I was one, ”
She smiled, then I watched her eyes shut, she was recalling the night my wolf saved her, I guess because the expression on her face wasn't someone disgusted about the memory playing on her mind's eyes, "that powerful paws of a wolf thudding the floor, is a sound of victory to whoever he is saving and doom to whoever he is about to attack," I chuckled, Akira had a perfect sense of humor, the way she described my wolf made Thunder whimpered in my head. “Are you saying I remind you of a wolf?” I asked
Akira laughed, her cheeks flushing with warmth as she buried her face in her palm. “Well, in a way, yes. Wolves have this quiet strength within them. They don’t need to prove their power; it’s just there, like yours, you are as powerful as that wolf.”
I raised my eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at my lips. Even though I don't understand Akira, one minute she doesn't want me to be a wolf and the next minute, she is comparing me to one, “Are you saying I should start howling at the moon? that you wouldn't mind if I was a wolfman?”
I wanted to push my luck, but she grabbed my chin and pulled it a bit hard before she let out a pearl of laughter, “No, silly. I’m just saying that you have this strength, this ability to make me feel safe and protected as a wolf does for its pack. I didn't say you should be one... Ew...” my heart clutched as she clashed the glimpse of hope in my heart and suddenly Akira smiled, pulling my hand, "you know, I heard wolves are loyal they are also known for their intelligence and their ability to adapt. They can navigate through the toughest terrains, just like you do,”
I looked at the female in front of me, she didn't want me to be a wolf, yet she could admire the creature and still hate it at the same time. I wanted the conversation to end she was suffocating me with it.
'Maybe, we should tell her now, so we could complete the ritual, so she could be our Luna,' I almost wanted to chortle at my naughty wolf words.
'did you hit your head on something, she doesn't have fangs like us, no paws, no claws, what will she use to do the Luna ritual, her mark on my neck will fade away after some time, because she is not a wolf, and have you seen a Pack with a human girl as their Luna before?' I scoffed at my wolf, Akira's gaze was on me “Oh Akira...I think you give me too much credit,” I replied to her words.
She shook her head, her gaze steady. “No, I don’t. You’ve been there for me, through everything. From when Ethan attacked me at the company, to when he drugs me, and even when I get drunk, you are my protector and that is what wolves do, especially their Alpha." She said and I gulped my saliva.
"Don't you like it?" I chuckled I am a wolf? An Alpha? That is who I am, so what is there for me not to like? I love it, it's just that I couldn't tell you what that name means to me. I run my hand on my nape aborting the thought of wanting to tell her that I am a wolf. But I owe her an explanation, with that mark on her neck, she deserves to know. I pecked her forehead before I huffed.
"I like it but I need to tell you something..."
"What is that?" She asked.
"I want to tell you about myself, I am..." Meredith's voice invaded my head and Akira's phone rang at the same time.
"Oh my phone," I squinted my eyes and she smirked before she turned the phone screen to my face, I smirked running my hand on my nape feeling embarrassed with the way I had been territorial.
"Fine, you can go on and talk to your friend, I will be at the dining once you are done you could join me at the dining wash, and then search for anything that you could wear from my wardrobe. I would make arrangements for a new outfit for you since you didn't have anything yet."
"Okay," she said in excitement before I pulled the door and walked out of the room, into the living room, Meredith was sitting in the dining.
"Alpha..." I shake my head at him, "She is here?" He asked.
"Yes, and I just..." The door flew open suddenly and I heard footsteps, Meredith and I tilted our heads in that direction, 'That was fast,' I said mentally watching Akira in my pajamas and big top walking towards us. She was beautiful.
"Hi, Meredith..." Meredith's eyes bulge
"what the fuck Logan, did you..."
