Chapter 057
Akira's POV
"Who is she?" I tilted my head to Wolfie and shrugged my shoulder, I had no idea who the lady was. She seemed to be in deep pain with the way she was hugging me so tight, I could feel she was hurting, so I hugged her back, scrolling her back, I didn't know the reason I did that but I didn't regret it.
"I don't know, she just walked in here, a few minutes ago, after you said you would step out for a while to make a call,"
"C'mon let's leave, don't go talking to strangers, they could..." He pulled my hand violently and I swatted my hand from him.
"Aren't you a stranger as well?" I grunt at him
"I am no stranger, you are my mate..." My brows furrow when he says mate, I look at him confused, before he ruffles his hair, curses under his breath, and apologizes, "Sorry, let's just go, Meredith will bring you to Vida to get your stuff," he says coldly before walking ahead of me.
"Weirdo..." I murmured under my breath, Wolfie is a strange fellow who is too difficult to read, you can't understand him and his choice of words is always weird, 'mate?' was that! I shrugged my shoulder as I walked behind him.
When we got to the car, he gave instructions to Meredith, I thought he was going to get into it with us but he didn't. He got into another car and drove off. I huff it's relieving, I would rather ride with Meredith than with him.
One minute he is lovely and the next minute he is cold, then the tongue thing came into my head but I pushed it off almost immediately.
I moved my hand to my nose, I couldn't even feel any pain there. I thought it was broken but I guess I was wrong because there is no way I could have a broken nose and still have the strength to move around.
After I woke up and saw the news of that stranger searching for my necklace, I got rattled and I didn't want to give it out, I was freaking out when Wolfie suggested that we go to the pack, that I might need fresh air, this time, I didn't object to it and I didn't hold any information about the necklace from him, I didn't know the reason, I did that, I just hope, I wasn't trusting him blindly but the painful thing is, they were looking for the necklace, not the bearer. If they are looking for just the necklace it means they have no idea if someone like me existed or probably Father just saw the necklace and picked it up, but Mom said when Father brought me home, I was wearing that necklace.
I tried wrapping my head around everything happening around me, I didn't think I could belong to a famous and influential family, with the way my mother spoke about how my father brought me home, I was just wearing a simple gown that must have been handmade.
I shake the thought of the possibility that I might turn out the daughter of the stranger. What if he is another monster? I sighed in frustration and Meredith tilted his head to me, "Are you alright? Does your nose still hurt?" He asked worried, I looked confused, "You should tell me, I don't want the boss to chop off my head before I find my..." He paused and my gaze became stronger on him.
"Your mate?" His expression clouded with surprise and his brows hike, "What is a mate?" I asked suddenly ignoring every other question that he asked, not even waiting for his reply, he swung his neck side by side.
"What do you think a mate is?" He turned the question, and my brows furrowed. I tugged my hair, desperately searching my brain for the answer, I frowned, my jaw tightened, and I glared at Meredith like he was the one who used that word for me. The only possible answer that came flying into my head was something I didn't like, "are you okay?"
"Is Wolfie calling me, a sexual partner?" My voice was husky and my eyes darkened, I was glaring at him. Meredith's eyes bulge, and his lips fall to say a word but I beat him to it again, "I am not a prostitute, I don't sleep with men for money, I work for my money. I am not a sex worker, why would he call me, a sexual partner?" Meredith shut his eyes while shaking his head, "What is that? Now you are going to defend him, that he didn't call me that? I will quote his exact words, I am no stranger, you are my mate,"
"Akira..." Meredith's baritone voice filled the car. I glared at him.
"You should stop me, I am getting out of the car and telling your boss that I may be poor that doesn't mean that I am going to be a sexual partner to anyone, I am not giving my body to any male because of money not even him, he should go get a sex doll if he needed to purchase one but not me," I slammed my hand on the dashboard and Meredith pullover at Vida. I pulled the door roughly, I was about to walk away when Meredith stepped out of his car, and his voice came up.
"I will just wait here, so you get your things."
"I am not moving in with him, tell him, I change my mind and he should fuck off." Meredith shakes his head too violently for a simple no.
"Logan, will have my head chopped off if I don't bring you back to the Mansion, I thought you had a deal, you signed a contract right?"
"Under duress..." His eyes bulged, frustration reeks his face and his jaw tightened, I wanted to laugh at his expression but I wasn't caught up for that, my ego was bruised how could he look at me, and call me, his sexual partner, it's degrading and annoying, I was about pulling Vida's door when she pulled the door and collided with me, I heard a low growl from Meredith's lips.
"Mine..." And his gaze was filled on Vida.
"Who is he?" Vida asked as his eyes were now flicking what I couldn't understand. "Is he alright?" Vida asked my gaze was still focused on him. He shakes his head suddenly.
"Sorry, I got to go." He said in a hurry as he hurried into his car and shut the door, turning too fast from the lane, Vida looked at me confused.
This was the first time, I think she saw him, the times that he drove me here, she was not always around.
"What happened to him?" Vida asked as her gaze trailed his car, I shrugged my shoulder.
"I don't know but his name is Meredith, Wolfie's assistant," her brows furrowed.
"He is handsome but too bad, he is a weirdo. Handsome weirdo," I chuckled at her words before she suddenly pulled my hand. "Ms. Ross was here?" My eyes bulge, "she came with the cops, claiming you attacked your sister, you send thugs after her like you did Ethan?"
"What?"
