Vida's POV
"Who are you?" I heard that deep baritone voice the moment I took the first step toward the hallway. I froze on the spot, his voice was cold and different from the elderly male that attend to me when I walked in here, my body tensed, I couldn't even turn to look at him, and my palm sweated as fear cripple me, "can't you talk?" His voice came up husky and my tummy churned.
"I will..." My words were cut short when the fellow grabbed my hand and pulled me back, I ended the call fast, before replying to Akira. "I am the delivery man?" I managed to say pointing at the package I left at the table, his gaze moving to the table and then back to me.
"We didn't order anything?" He said coldly
"Someone did, my boss told me, it's one..." I paused, I wanted to take Logan's name what if he is still unconscious as Akira said, then it's my doom, I dug the pit myself. "...Mr. Meredith?"
"Me?" He said and my eyes bulge, 'What the fuck?' I cursed under my breath, I didn't know he was the one Akira talked about, but I thought I knew the face of that fellow bearing that name. I saw him just once and I knew he was handsome but I never imagined that he was this handsome standing so close with his face an inch from me, my breath caught in my throat. He was taller than I imagined, his presence commanding attention in a way that sent an uncomfortable shiver down my spine. He looked good, too good, to just be a man, fuck me, he is a werewolf, I guess, that is the reason he looks this handsome, with his stoic expression, I still want to drop my pants. But there was something else, something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It wasn’t in the way he looked, but in the way his closeness affected me, I haven't been with a male before but that doesn't mean I don't know how my body reacts to those sexual feelings, because I masturbate once in a while. I gulped my saliva as his eyes searched mine.
"I don't know, are you Mr. Meredith?" he smirked moving closer to me, and my heart palpitations increased, I moved backward, "Don't come near me," I screamed for defense
"She is a girl?" I heard another voice, I shut my lips with my palm, hearing that voice from the door, and that was when I realized someone else was in the building and I had used my real voice, I am doom. My inner self flogged me and the fear of being caught gave me goosebumps. With those two men staring at me, with suspicious gazes, I knew I was doomed.
"No, I am not a girl," I growl hitting the male in front of me who referred to himself as Meredith, I was about to run out, when the male at the door, grabbed me by the back, and my hoodie fell off, my hair flow down my back, I heard someone gasped from behind me.
"Who sent you? And what the heck are you doing here? Are you a spy?" The fellow that was now in front of me, was having that stoic expression and it was making my heart palpitations increase like it was going to jump off my chest, "what the hell?" He screamed even though he didn't have that deadly aura that didn't mean that his presence wasn't scaring me like that demonic male standing behind causing havoc in my core and heart.
I tried to focus on the man in front of me and he grabbed the artificial beard that was covering my cheeks and around my lips, "Ouch..." I screamed, and the fellow that was resting lazily on the wall making them three in the room, his eyes dilated, I wondered what he was so surprised at because I didn't think I was beautiful that could make him have that surprised look on his face, I guess the shock on his face was out of surprised that I am a girl.
"You are beautiful," he murmured having that satisfying smile on his face, his eyes raked my face taking a step towards me, while I retrieved my step. This crazy man, does he even know what beauty is all about, if he calls me beautiful what would he call Akira if he met her?
"What the fuck are you doing, Riley?" The other male in front of me grabbed the hand of the male who was about to touch me.
"I didn't do anything wrong, I am only admiring..." My voice stopped when my back hit the male who said his name his Meredith. His cologne hit me, and it's intoxicating.
"Sorry..." I murmured pulling from his touch before flipping my hair, tilting my head to look at him.
"You..." He growled his voice was like thunder and my heart echoed in my ear, my pulse wasn't something I could control. His expression was in disbelief. “What the hell are you doing here?”
My heart stopped. There was no escaping this now. I had been caught, red-handed, if no one recognized me, it would have been easy to lie but this naughty male did.
“I... uh...” my brain scrambled for an explanation, but nothing came out. I pushed from his grip. He stepped back, folding his arms. "Akira, put you up to this, didn’t she?”
I blinked several times, and his questions threw me off, I parted my lips to say something but I shut it immediately, I couldn't betray my friend now.
“Don’t play dumb,” he said, rolling his eyes. “I asked her to leave, that Logan needed space, I didn't know she would send a spy here, I didn't ask her not to call him, except she doesn't have his number.”
I felt my face flush with embarrassment. I didn't expect to be caught in the act. “I wasn’t spying,” I said weakly, tying my hair into a ponytail. “I was just... checking something out...”
“What? Did you know anyone here?” Meredith didn’t seem angry, but he certainly wasn’t amused either. He rubbed his forehead and sighed. “you should go home, tell Akira that Logan is fine and that she could call him by tomorrow his line will be active,”
I nodded my head feeling embarrassed, seeing those piercing eyes, I felt stupid for agreeing to this plan of Akira, I didn't admit that I was from Akira but I knew I didn't need to admit before he knew this was all Akira's plan.
“I’ll... just go now,” I muttered, moving toward the door.
Meredith nodded, stepping aside to let me pass. “Tell Akira she can call me if she needs any more information if she can't come here.”
I nodded to him avoiding his gaze before walking towards the door, "Aren't you going to tell me your name, beautiful?"
