Chapter 117
Amelia's POV
I was so restless when my nephew told me that he was bringing the young lady home, after he had told me earlier that is like the young lady was in danger and he was going to look for her but after a few minutes, when I called to asked if he found the young lady that was when he told me that he will bring her home, that I should tell Grandpa that he will miss the rest of the party, I wanted to see the female's face but my annoying aunty came calling and I didn't want her to see the face of the female.
If the young lady looks just like me then my aunt will become suspicious and I don't want that. With everything happening to me for the past seventeen years, I am beginning to have trust issues. I don't know who to trust and who is my enemy.
Till I can get the DNA, as Roe said we will have one done, I didn't want anyone else to know about it. I am trusting Roe to help me with this and hope I will finally reunite with my daughter after seventeen years. I don't know since Roe told me that my aunty is coming to the party, her presence rattles me, she is always producing this aura that is evil and uneasy.
I shake my head, I shouldn't associate evil with her, she is still my aunty and I don't think she will want to hurt me or anyone in the family. She might just be unfriendly towards me that doesn't mean she hates me.
I avoided her throughout the party and I succeeded in doing that because she was trying to socialize with every prominent fellow in that hall, not blinking her eyes in also throwing her son into the limelight, but who cares, she should as well become the next CEO of the company when grandpa retired finally.
All I wanted was my daughter and nothing else.
Grandpa is still the CEO of the company even though all the affairs of the company are handled by my nephew, Roe.
The party finally ended a few hours ago and the good thing is my aunty said she would be spending the night at one of the family condominiums while grandpa was too busy that he didn't remember Roe was nowhere in sight till the party ended, so I had no reason to tell him that Roe isn't there.
I have been calling Roe but he hasn't been taking my call. I was pacing in the room when the door pulled open, I turned and I saw Roe. I rushed to him, "Hey you were gone for the longest time, and I have been calling and you haven't been taking any of my calls."
"Sorry, I had to bring her home, since the person she came here with left and she was in pain" My brows furrowed.
"Pain? Did anyone hurt her at the party? Is she alright now? Did you bring her to the hospital?" I asked too many questions at a time, as anxieties consumed me
"No, her home and she is fine, you don't have to worry about her, she is okay now, her friend could take care of her. Probably she takes something that she is allergic to during the party," he said sitting on the couch.
"Oh..."
"And the sample of her hair had already been sent to the lab, so we are hoping that the result turned out positive," I huffed in relief as anxieties increased in me and my heart palpitations increased. "Relax Aunty, everything will be fine, by the weekend we will have the results and we will all know if she is Nadine, but I am one hundred percent sure she is, even without the DNA." he said standing from the couch. "where is grandpa?"
"Oh, he said he is spending the night at the penthouse and that he is too tired to return to the Mansion."
"Good then, I will just shower and sleep, I am so exhausted." It was when he was standing up from the couch that I noticed his face.
"Hey?" He looks at me, as I rush to him and hold his face. "what happened to your face?"
"Oh, this?" He smiled touching his bruised face, "just some real interesting character being protective." My brows furrow, "relax, I was punched by her friend,"
"The girl's friend?" He nodded to me.
"Mistake the whole stuff thinking that I spike her drink but it's fine, it will heal soon."
"She had a boyfriend? I thought CEO Casper, said she is not his girlfriend?" My voice was laced with anger, my girl is only seventeen, and she shouldn't be keeping a boyfriend.
"Wow... Aunty stop, we haven't even found out that she is your daughter, you are thinking of giving her rules on how to live her life?"
"I am not giving her roles, I am just looking out for my little girl, I don't want her..."
"You did nothing wrong Mommy and don't beat yourself, you only fell in love and it's a good thing, it's just that you fell for the wrong person, someone who couldn't catch you but that doesn't mean they are not genuine people that seventeen years could fall for and being caught by such people. And talking about that male, you said his Nadine's father."
"What about him?"
"Are you sure his real name is Todd Evans?" My stare becomes strong on Roe. From everything he did, even I had begun to doubt if he did tell me, his real identity, and judging from the way he appeared from nowhere, the day I met him, something didn't sit well. I was blinded by everything but with what he did to my child and me, maybe Todd had a skeleton in his cupboard but I was hoping that even if he lies to me, in everything, he would at least be truthful about his name to me, since we had a child together, "I have been trying to search for that fellow with that sketch you gave me but I can't find a match, the name isn't matching the face..."
"But Todd Evans, did he exist?" I stuttered, my heart palpitations increased, and I was holding my breath in fear and pain. I didn't want to hear that Todd didn't exist, it was going to kill me faster than the seventeen years of pain if the name Todd Evans doesn't exist. It would only show how stupid and blinded I was if I didn't even know the name of the man who I thought I fell in love with and had a child with.
"he does but not with the face you sketched." I let out a breath of relief.
"Can I see the photo of him?" I asked.
"Sure, I will give you that tomorrow but for now, I am tired, and you should rest as well," he said walking to his room, my phone ping. I brought out my phone to check the message and my eyes bulge.
[oh my little pumpkin, it's been a while. I know where your daughter is, if you want to find your daughter, you should text me.]
