Akira's POV.
"Akira..." My body froze when I tilted my head to the voice that was calling me, I knew it was Logan, he was glaring at me, I pushed Ethan's hand away from my waist.
"Sir..." I bowed slightly before him, his hands were in his pocket and his face was devoid of emotions. "Good morning..."
"Inside..." He growled the second time, I thought I heard it wrong the first time when that car arrived at the building but hearing it for the second time, I knew my hearing didn't deceive me.
"You should leave," I said to Ethan.
"I will leave only if you promise to take my calls and let's talk about..."
"Akira, I don't want to get inside before you." His voice was firm and chill, and my legs involuntary moved, pushing Ethan away from me without replying to him, whether I would take his calls or not, earlier, I had arrived at the office, before my resumption time, and I knew I did wrong, using my boss’ black card senselessly but I was also worried for him, through the night, I couldn't sleep, I was almost tempted to call him and asked about his health but I stopped myself and tried as much as possible not to act too concerned so as not to give him ideas that I might be interested in him.
I was smartly dressed, only to get to the office, Wolfie, wasn't there panic hit me but I tried to control my emotions as I hurried to the next office There was a glass door that is at the left side of Wolfie's office, her eyes snapped to me, seeing me bumped into her office without her permission.
"I am sorry, Good morning ma, Is the boss not here yet?" I asked the lady behind the desk, she looked like a woman in her forties, this was the first time, I set eyes on her but Meredith told me that, she was the secretary and that her name was Mariam, and she wasn't on the seat the day I resume and that she is the only female in this floor apart from me, that before, it was just him, Wolfie and her but now, I am among the few working in this floor, so if she is trusted enough to have her office in this floor then she should know what happens to the boss if ever anything happens to the boss because I was scared for him.
"Sorry, my name is Akira Ross, I am the..." I wanted to introduce myself to her since she wasn't saying anything but she interrupted me.
"Mr. Logan's new assistant, I am Mrs. Mariam Matthew, his secretary." She said smiling at me.
"Oh..." I hummed, not knowing what to say, she lowered her gaze to her system before her voice came up.
"Not yet but Meredith is in his seat, if you want to ask about the boss, then you could ask him." She said smiling at me. Her smile was suspicious, and it made me feel strange.
"I don't think it's necessary, I was just asking to confirm if I wasn't late," I said lying through my teeth. That is not the reason I was asking about him, I was worried for him, yesterday, it seemed he was poisoned with aphrodisiac drugs, and I wanted to help him, I have a drug that could calm him even if it doesn't take the pleasure away from him completely but it would have been of great help to him. The drugs would have helped him but that lady just appeared from nowhere and threw me out, the older female was the same female that I saw in his office the other day, and the younger female, I had no idea who she was, but she was acting too possessive and didn't even want me anywhere near Logan, such a Possessive and clingy girlfriend.
"Are you sure you are not worried about our boss?" My eyes almost fell out of my sockets, what made her think that I was worried about the boss, she wasn't here yesterday so how did she know what happened here? And why would I not be worried about someone who is my boss, even if he is mean, he is still the reason, I have a job and hope for money at the end of the month to satisfy all my demanding mother and sister's needs.
"I am..." She raised her hand and stopped me, signaling me to keep quiet, she grabbed the Telephone and was mute, and then her gaze went to me, I looked at her confused, 'What did I do this time?' I said mentally. I watch her brows furrow and then her eyes narrowed.
"Ms. Akira, someone is at the reception, he said he wants to meet you and it is urgent."
"Visitor?" I asked pointing at my chest, while confusion was written on my face. “he?" My brain was in disarray not able to form any sense, of who would possibly want to look for me in this place, no one knew I worked here, except Vida and I knew Vida would never tell any member of my family, where I worked. "Did he tell you his name or anything and how sure that it's..."
"He said Akira and his name is Ethan, he looks desperate, and he is not even ready to leave," I kept mute for some minutes, still contemplating whether to go meet him or not. "Ms. Akira, you should go meet him, I don't think Sir Logan will be happy to see someone there in his company at this time of the day if it's not about business and I don't think it's a good idea bringing your boyfriend to your working place."
"He is not..."
"Go now, and dismiss him, any moment from now, Logan will be here." She said I sighed as I hurry out, I didn't want to see Ethan, and I have been avoiding him for days and his calls were either linked to voicemail or on a blacklist, I don't want to talk to him, I have no business with him, but the thing is, how the heck did he found out that I worked here.
Anger clouded my face as I darted out, I saw him sitting at the reception, I didn't waste any time before I pulled him by the hand dragging him out, "What are you doing here?" I yelled at him.
"C'mon baby, you didn't take my calls and you blocked me, I went to your house and your sister said you barely stay at home, that you come home very late and leave very early, so I decided to check on you this morning, only for me to find out that you work here, tell me, what are you doing here and how did you get all these good clothes and I thought you said, you don't like your hair..." He wanted to touch my face, so I swatted his hand off me. "Anyways, even if you don't let me touch you, you can't stop me from admiring you, you are beautiful." He said.
"Thanks but you need to leave, this is my workplace and my boss might not like this."
"Why?"
"Don't you have brains? I thought you have a company, as a CEO, you should know the reason." I was trying so hard to control myself but this pig standing in front of me is so Annoying.
"Fine, you don't have to insult me, I will leave but I am not leaving without a hug." I parted my lips to say something but I didn't want to argue with him, if I am to dismiss him, then I should dance to his tone, and fuck, the very moment his hand went to my back, Wolfie appears in front of me, I am doom, I know this is the heights, I will get fired today for sure.
"Who is he?" Wolfie's voice dragged me from my thoughts to reality, my eyes snapped at him. "Go on, who the heck is he to you?"
