Chapter 023
Logan's POV.
I was knocked out for hours, I tried to summon Thunder, my wolf, so he could heal me but he can't, which means I will have to go through my healing the natural ways, it's so fucking annoying but I don't have a choice, I know that my wolf doesn't heal me anymore and for the longest time, I have always avoided getting into any danger because I do not want to go through this medical bullshit, all in the name of treatment but here I was taking a knife stabbed for a female that meant nothing to me but meant a lot to my wolf. Truly, she had a strong effect on not just my wolf but on me. This effect she had on me was getting more complicated and jealousy was crawling in, I couldn't even stand that male hands on her waist and I couldn't even ignore the hurt in her eyes when she saw me talking to Katerina in the office earlier, I had to dismiss Katerina, without even having a good conversation with her after I saw Akira stamped out of the office, I guess she was mad that I was with another woman but I am not sure of it. My eyes roved the room, the very moment I opened my eyes.
"Where the heck did she go?" I growl within, seeing that she is nowhere in the room, I risk my fucking life for her and all she did was run off. I frowned. "Did she just leave me here and run away?" My head was aching badly and I was feeling all groggy. I move my hand to the side of my stomach that the knife went through. Meredith rushed to me.
"Hey relax, don't try to stand up, you are safe now, you are at the hospital, and I am sure the doziness is as a result of anesthesia."
I didn't reply to him, my eyes moved awkwardly around the room. Meredith could see that I was searching for someone.
"Do you need anything? Or do you want someone? Katerina is..."
"No..." I interrupted him, I don't fucking want Katerina, and how the heck did she appears here? Who informed her that I am here at the hospital, I have sent her away hours before I went to my garage and met that asshole bullying Akira, the ungrateful fellow. That moment Katerina pulled the door, she was rushing to me.
"Baby, I was worried, have you lost your mind, how could you..."
"I am fine, what the heck are you doing here? Why are you the one here?" My voice was crowded with disappointment and irritation. I didn't understand myself, I was disappointed opening my eyes and not seeing the woman, I risked my life for. If she is not here, it only means that she left the very moment, she brought me to the hospital, what a perfect way of appreciating your helper.
"I came in as soon as I heard the news, I couldn't sleep, I don't..."
"Katerina, go home, I want to be left alone." My voice was cold, and even though I was fighting hard not to raise my voice at her, I knew I didn't want to see her.
"And why is that?"
"You should rest, you just arrived in the city yesterday and you need to rest, Meredith is here, he could take care of me, if I need anything I could tell him."
"But I want to..."
"Go away, Katerina, listen for once, get out," I growl at her, and while I winch to one side of my body, the pain is becoming unbearable.
"Why are you sending me away, is it because of..."
"Katerina..." I growl in frustration.
"Fine, suit yourself." She growled back at me, dragging her handbag that she had dropped on the table when she arrived, she pulled the door and darted out of my ward before I let out a sigh of relief, Meredith was just there resting lazily on the wall while his eyes are fixed on me.
"Why did you let him stab you when you knew that your wolf would not heal you?"
"It's a mistake, she is not..." Before I could finish my words, Meredith moved from his position dragged the sheet beside me, and pressed the wet sheet to my skin.
"Don't judge her so fast, she was here, she was scared for you. worried and guilt had eaten deep into her system but Katerina didn't even make it easy for her."
I stared blankly at him, I wanted to growl, hearing the last part that Katerina didn't make it easy for her but I put up a poker face and I was waiting for him to finish his words but the door flew open, the doctor walked in accompany with two nurses, one of the nurses was standing a bit far from the doctor and the other nurse, her face was covered, she was hiding behind the surgical mask. Her eyes were the only space left in her face.
Her gaze was focused on the floor, after the first glance she gave to me, "You are recovering fast, it's a good thing your girlfriend brought you here on time, and she tried to stop the bleeding." My gaze moved to the doctor and then to Meredith, now I understood the information Meredith was trying to pass to me and that wetness was from Akira's tears. But I was worried, she was not here if Katerina was mad at her, it only meant he threw her out. My gaze moved back to the nurse, I don't know but something about her reminded me of someone, not someone, it’s Akira. "You should tell me if you are still experiencing any unusual pains that are becoming unbearable for you..."
"Not really, but I think that I will need some painkillers."
"Oh, nurse..."
"I will prefer her," I said pointing at the female that her face is completely covered leaving just the space of her eyes.
"Uh..." She hummed, moving her gaze to me subconsciously, my heart skipped a bit as those eyes reminded me of Akira, maybe, I am wrong, Katerina sent her out.
"Yes..." I said.
"Alright then, she will bring it in a few minutes." The doctor said as he turned to leave with the two other nurses, my gaze followed them but it was filled with that mystic woman. My instinct kept telling me that she was Akira. If she is the one, I will find out soon.
A brief smirk lurked on my lips but it disappeared almost at the same time, seeing the malicious grin on Meredith's face.
"What now?"
"That lady is Akira right?"
