Chapter 149
Akira's POV
She grabbed my hand making a lurching movement towards another exit, not taking the same entrance we used earlier. She nearly lost her balance as she stumbled into a fellow. "Watch your step, Miss!" The fellow growls.
"Sorry..." I pulled Vida from his way, I heard him grumble as he walked into the crowd.
Not like I am not tipsy, but Vida was flat-out wasted. I struggle to get her into the cab. "Ma'am, where should I bring you two?" The driver asked.
Instead of giving him our address, I gave him the address of Wolfie. While I throw my head behind me staring at the car ceiling. "Where are we going?" Vida asked in her drunk state.
"Bringing the princess home," I murmured.
"So I am a princess?" She asked, her face flushed, I couldn't tell if it was the fact that I called her princess that was making her face turn red or the excess of alcohol in her system that was making it all red.
"Of course, you are a princess with a nice scent." She mouthed something that I couldn't make out the words she was saying before she giggled beside me.
The ride to Wolfie's house was faster than the first time we came here. I stared at my wristwatch, it was already past one, the security at the gate looked at me and before I could say a word, they let me in.
I walked towards the door ready to click on the bell when the door pulled open revealing Meredith, his eyes widened with raised eyebrows, and his forehead creased, "what are you doing here this late?" I parted my lips to say a word when Vida's voice echoed from the car.
"Why does this place look pretty fancy? Is this the gladiator's building?" Her voice was sounding too loud and she was giggling between the lines.
"Is she drunk?" Meredith asked with his raspy voice, and I shrugged my shoulder, as my lips curved into a lopsided grin. "Fuck this!" He cursed, grabbing my wrist, "I need to bring you girls home." I swatted my wrist from him.
"I am not going anywhere, I want to see Wolfie."
"He is..." Before he could complete his words, I leaned heavily into Meredith's chest, not to gain balance but to inhale his scent. Surprised reeks over him, as he becomes rigid. "what are you doing?" His voice came out guttural.
"You reek of Wolfie," his arm went to my shoulder, pulling me away from his chest.
"Wolfie is not here, you should leave." I swatted his hand off my shoulders
"I am not going, I will wait for Wolfie inside." I pushed him off my way, getting into the building, and he hurried towards me. "You should get Vida, from the cab, if you don't want the driver to make passes at her, instead of coming after..."
"Fuck..." He curses rushing to the door. He was almost at the door when I tried to get off the couch I just fell on. "Austin, make sure she doesn't move from this spot." I sighed knowing that my thoughts of sneaking to Wolfie's room had been thwarted, I gave out a weak smile at Austin waving at him awkwardly. He also gave me a tight smile, not leaving his spot with his hand shoved into his pocket.
Standing there like a guard, his actions and Meredith's actions confirmed that Wolfie was here and there was no way, I would leave there without seeing Wolfie.
I was still in my thoughts thinking of how to sneak to Wolfie's room when I heard the door kick open, with Vida on Meredith's shoulder, like a sack of potatoes, "Who are you?" She yelled hitting his shoulder, while Meredith slapped her ass.
"Stop struggling with me, you should go to bed now, time to go to bed, princess." I chuckled, I guess it was Meredith, she was thinking about when I called her princess.
"I knew it's you, you douchebag, put me down."
"No can't do." Meredith inclined his head towards Austin that haven't left that stop since Meredith asked him to watch over me. "Ready to go to bed and get her to one of the rooms."
Austin's gaze dropped to his arms, flexing them at his side, like he was ready to scoop me from the couch. "Don't you dare?" My voice was a little higher, "I could walk perfectly well, I am not that drunk as not to be able to pull my feet. Vida is the one who gulped most of the wine."
"And I still want more." She giggled, her head raised a bit, before she stretched out her hand towards me, "Take my hand bestie, don't let this asswipe take me away."
I snorted before grabbing her hand, which was outstretched to me, "You know, I will never do that to you," I didn't want to go with Austin, so I option of spending the night wherever Meredith was going to bring Vida.
Austin shrugged his shoulder and got off the way before Meredith walked upstairs with me tagging behind.
My eyes floor the rooms along the hallway, I knew the room at the extreme of the hallway belonged to Wolfie, I have been here like a thousand times and I knew how to get there, without anyone noticing, but I am not going to do that now.
With the door a bit ajar, I knew someone was in there, no one would dare pull Wolfie's door even if he was not there.
I stayed with Vida till she eventually passed out, snoring her way to dreamland. I excused myself to go into the bathroom, when I moved to the bathroom, I tilted my head to look at Meredith who was already taking Vida’s sneakers off her foot. I watched as he took off everything that could give her discomfort in her sleep then pulled her into his arm, pulling the duvet back, to place her beneath the duvet.
He was oddly sweet, I knew Meredith was a sweet soul but I didn't expect him not to accept the bond between them. Probably he had his reason for wanting to push Vida away and not even telling her that they are fated mate.
"I will go to bed now, if you need anything you could press the Telecom."
"I need..."
"Please Akira, don't talk about Logan again, it's late, and I need to rest." I nodded to him while watching him walk out of the room, shutting the door behind me.
After a few minutes, I thought of sneaking out of the room to go look for Wolfie, if he is here I should find him.
I walked down the hallway to the room, I think Wolfie and I had shared, I pushed the door, and it was empty, Wolfie wasn't there. "Where could he be?"
I thought of going back to the room but somehow, my feet carried me to a different wing in the Manor without realizing it.
The hallway was similar, those wallpaper was fucking identical. I wandered through it then I came across a room where his door was just a jar and I heard some sound, I could hear voices, that I could not make out.
My feet moved towards that door, "Meredith, you are crossing the line and I don't want to let out an Alpha command on you." I stopped at the door, the door was cracked wide enough for me to see what was going on inside the room. I shouldn't have. I should have walked past like nothing happened but that voice is so familiar.
"Logan..." I heard Meredith call out to him, and my eyes snapped through the dim light. My lips drop, seeing Wolfie in there but it's obvious he didn't want me to be here, this conversation was about me.
"As your alpha, I command you to go..." His words stopped when I pushed the door wider.
"Wolfie...."
