Chapter 202 I Am Not a Kind Person

"I don't owe you a thing!" Saskia yelled as she unbuckled her seatbelt, flung open the car door, and bolted.

Nicholas scrambled after her, but she was already hopping into a taxi. He stomped his foot in frustration. Saskia's fiery temper made him want to strangle her!

Ever since that incident in Velvet City when she had forced herself on him, he hadn't even touched a strand of her hair.

The whole situation was a mess. Should he break off his engagement with Isla first, or should Saskia commit to him first?

With Saskia's temper, if he broke off the engagement and she didn't stick around, he'd be humiliated again!

The big villa was lit up like a Christmas tree. After seeing Nicholas and Saskia off, Tristan got another call.

Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, Tristan's voice was deep and magnetic. Maybe sensing Katniss approaching, he lowered his voice. "Do it this way. Have the lawyer go to the police station tomorrow and make sure this gets sorted out."

He turned around, raised an eyebrow at Katniss, and hung up. "Didn't I tell you to rest first?"

She was in black silk pajamas, her golden hair half-dry. "What took so long? I finished my bath and waited forever. Is there a problem with the project again?"

"Nope." He slipped his phone into his pocket and gently tucked a stray lock of her hair behind her ear with his cool fingertips. "It's all handled. Let's go."

He led Katniss upstairs. While waiting for him to shower, she got a message from Donna on Facebook: [Ms. Grey, what happened to Aaron?]

These past few days, while tutoring Donna alone, she always seemed hesitant to speak.

[He had a samll argument with his sister. The tutoring is on hold. Focus on your studies, and don't worry. We'll handle Aaron's situation.] she replied.

[Saw him at school with some troublemakers by the gate. He had injuries on his face and ignored me when I tried to talk to him.] Donna's message was filled with sadness.

Katniss asked for more details. Donna had seen Aaron at the school gate after school, and not just once.

She comforted Donna with a few words and specifically asked about Donna's school dismissal time, planning to check it out the next day.

Maybe because of the fight and the knife wound, Katniss suddenly woke up in the middle of the night.

She instinctively tried to raise her hand but was stopped by Tristan's tight embrace. Her sudden movement also woke Tristan.

In the darkness, they locked eyes for a few seconds. She turned, hugged his waist, buried her head in his chest, and drifted back to sleep without a word.

His broad palm gently patted her back over and over, and she quickly fell asleep again.

The next day was Friday.

After arriving at the educational institution, Katniss thought it over and decided to call Eudora, letting her know Aaron had been seen near the school. "Today’s Friday, and there’s no school in the afternoon. Classes end around eleven. Donna saw him several times after school, so maybe you can catch him around that time."

"Katniss, don’t you know what happened?" Eudora asked after Katniss finished speaking.

After a few seconds of silence, Katniss frowned and asked, "What happened?"

Eudora’s side sounded chaotic, not like she was at home. She found a quieter place. "Bella was arrested because Tristan brought in a lawyer who claimed her diagnosis report was fake and that she intentionally used it to harm someone. I’m at the police station."

Suddenly recalling the calls Tristan made last night, Katniss instantly understood.

"Bella’s diagnosis report was issued by Dr. Collins abroad. If the police look into it closely, they won’t recognize it. Michael’s idea was to take Bella back to Velvet City’s hospital for a re-examination and a new report. Still, the police rejected it, insisting it be done locally in Nightfall City. Michael..." Eudora explained everything in detail.

Katniss couldn’t help but interrupt her. "Miss Savoy, since Tristan has already taken action, let him and Michael handle it. I think you should be more concerned about Aaron not coming home."

From Eudora’s tone, it seemed she was blaming Tristan for causing such a rift with Michael over her, and Bella’s arrest was no longer just between Michael and Tristan.

It now involved the Forbes family and the Astor family.

"You care so much about Aaron. Why can’t you care a little about Tristan’s situation? Falling out with the Astor family at this time does him no good!" Eudora’s tone was urgent.

Katniss frowned and said, "So, Miss Savoy, how do you think I should care for Tristan? Should I let Bella go, despite all the trouble she causes, and just deal with it?"

Although she was surprised by Tristan’s actions, she quickly understood his reasons.

Even if she had a diagnosis report to act against Bella, if Bella continued to disturb her peace, she couldn’t afford to waste time on it.

Moreover, Bella had resorted to using a knife, leaving Tristan deeply worried about Katniss's safety.

"You're bringing trouble to Tristan," Eudora said.

Unable to persuade her, Katniss simply gave up. "Sorry, I'm not a saint."

"How can you say you're not kind?" Eudora sneered. "You care so much about Aaron, who always causes trouble and isn't even related to you. You're definitely kind!"

Katniss felt a pang in her chest, and her tone instantly turned cold. "I don't know if that makes me kind, but you clearly don't get it. You ignore your brother and meddle in other people's business. Even though you grew up in the Forbes family, you're not Tristan's biological sister. Aaron is the only one related to you by blood."

"Katniss, I don't want to argue with you or make things difficult for Tristan. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll hang up now." Eudora avoided answering her question and hung up the phone.

The sky was overcast, making the room feel dark and oppressive even with the lights on, which only added to Katniss's frustration.

Especially after the call with Eudora, she placed her phone on the table and rubbed her chin, feeling a headache coming on.

In the end, she called Tristan to ask about Bella.

Tristan was in a meeting. When he received her call, he stepped out of the conference room and answered it in the hallway. "What's wrong?"

His tone was urgent and concerned; she rarely called him at this time.

"Don't worry, nothing happened. I just wanted to say..." Katniss's tone was light, and she spoke in a low voice, "I miss you."

In the hallway, Tristan looked at the sun obscured by dark clouds. Despite the gloomy weather, he felt cheerful. "You found out about Bella, didn't you? Who told you?"

He almost instantly guessed the reason for Katniss's sudden expression of affection.

"Eudora mentioned it. I was planning to talk to her about going to find Aaron at noon, but she brought it up." Katniss didn't intend to complain and downplayed the situation.

Tristan's voice noticeably cooled. "Ignore her. Next time she says something like that, don't be polite."

After a pause, he checked his watch and added, "I'll go with you to the school at noon to find Aaron."

He also felt it would be a pity just to leave Aaron alone.

"Okay, let's meet at the school gate at noon." Katniss hung up the phone.

Although there was no benefit in dealing with Aaron, she still planned to go.

Around ten o'clock, Tristan drove over to pick her up, and they headed straight to the school.

Nightfall City had a lot of top-notch middle school students, and it was just the time for school to let out. Tristan's car had to park by the roadside, and they walked to the school gate.

In the crowded area, the two of them stood out with their tall figures and striking looks. Tristan, dressed in a suit and exuding an air of elegance, became the center of attention.

People noticed him first, then saw Katniss, petite and delicate, closely protected in his arms.

As they reached the school gate, students began to come out. Katniss scanned the surroundings, searching for Aaron.

But she didn't see him. It wasn't until most of the students had left that she saw Donna coming out of the school.

"Ms. Grey!" Donna had been looking out for her, knowing she would come today. She ran over and said, "Mr. Forbes, you're here?"

"Yeah, but no luck finding Aaron," Katniss said, having already checked the nearby alleys but found nothing.

Donna's eyes dropped in disappointment, and she looked around. "Maybe he didn't come today. Ms. Grey, could you come again next week?"

"We'll see." Katniss patted Donna's shoulder. "I'll come by whenever I have time to try my luck."

Although she was worried about Aaron, her work was too demanding to spend all her time on him.

"Okay!" Donna's eyes lit up with hope. "If I see him, I'll call you right away!"

"Alright, it's getting late. Go home with your driver now." Katniss pointed to the Wilson family's driver, who had been waiting for a while.

Donna waved and turned to leave, full of energy.

The school gate soon emptied, and Katniss sighed, letting Tristan lead her back to the car.

"I'll have Ryan send someone to keep an eye out," Tristan said, noticing her concern. "If they see him, they'll bring him back immediately."

"That works. Hopefully, he can mend his relationship with Miss Savoy." Katniss had little hope for the tutoring sessions.

She just wanted to find Aaron to ease her anxiety.

The G-Wagon drove smoothly down the road. As they left the school street, the number of pedestrians increased, and the roads became more complex.

Tristan slowed down, and Katniss glanced out the window at the hurried passersby. Her eyes fell on a dirty-looking teenager. Because of the angle, she couldn't see his face clearly.

But his hurried, evasive movements were similar to Aaron's. She tapped Tristan's arm. "Is that Aaron? Pull over quickly!"
