Chapter 337 Don't You Think You Ruined Me

Katniss maintained a calm expression and slightly nodded, "Mr. Astor, Miss Savoy, what a coincidence. We have an appointment with a client, so we can't catch up. Goodbye."

She had nothing to say to them.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Eudora next to Michael staring at her intensely, as if trying to bore a hole through her.

It was jealousy, resentment, and an indescribable emotion.

She glanced sideways at Samuel, signaling him. Then, they found the private room where they had an appointment with their client and went in.

Michael's gaze was fixed on the closed door, and the temperature in his eyes dropped to freezing point in an instant.

"Ms. Grey, Mr. Bennett," he turned back and smiled again, "and you, Ms. Savoy."

Eudora said without hesitation, "I've already been fired by Synergy Global Corporation, Michael. When will you finally let me go?"

This was the first time Michael had used those obscene videos he had taken to call her out to accompany him for drinks. The people in the private room were all nearly forty years old at the youngest.

The Astor Corporation was gone, and the Astor family could only slowly decline.

Michael was naturally unwilling to accept this and had his eye on a project from a certain company, wanting to get involved.

But he didn't even have the qualifications to participate, so he needed a loan, which led to today's dinner.

"What difference does it make whether I let you go or not?" Michael's dark gaze fixed on her, "How many times has Travis already taken you to such dinners? Why are you pretending to be so pure?"

Eudora choked. She had been forced to attend many such dinners, but nothing had ever happened. The worst was being touched a couple of times!

But obviously, Michael didn't believe her, and no one believed she was still innocent.

"Help me secure this loan today. As long as I get involved in this project, I can earn tens of millions of dollars in dividends within six months, and you'll benefit from it too."

As he spoke, they reached the restroom. Michael washed his hands and took a white pill out of his pocket.

"Don't act like you're unwilling. You see, the bank manager isn't that interested in you, but you must get him."

He meant to use some tricks.

Eudora gritted her teeth and looked at him, never imagining that the person who would push her into the deepest abyss would be Michael!

"Michael, aren't you afraid that if you push me too far, I'll cling to you forever? Don't you want to get married in the future? Do you believe I'll ruin everything and tell your wife about our relationship?"

In the mirror, Michael was fixing his hair. Hearing her words, he paused.

He turned around and stared at Eudora, then suddenly sneered, "Do you think I'm afraid of you? I'm already like this. If I can't make a comeback, what marriage am I thinking about?"

He raised his hand and grabbed Eudora's neck, forcing her to come closer. His thumb pressed hard against her red lips, smudging her lipstick.

"Don't push me. Now, even calling you my tool for sexual release, I find you dirty. I have no pity for you, understand?"

With Samuel around, Katniss didn't have to drink, and no one dared to force her.

Because of her unique insights and far-sighted vision in the business world, she was always the object of everyone's flattery.

The dinner lasted for more than two hours. The elevator couldn't fit so many people, so Katniss let Samuel take them down while she waited for the next one.

When she went down, most of the people in the lobby had already left. Eudora, standing in a prominent position at the entrance, saw her come out and quickly walked over.

"Can I buy you a cup of coffee?"

"It's not convenient," Katniss checked her watch. She didn't think there was anything left to talk about between them.

Eudora seemed to have anticipated her refusal, "I want to talk to you about Aaron's recent situation."

How ridiculous. Aaron had been in Opal City for so long, and since their fallout, Eudora hadn't said a word of concern for nearly a year.

"Fine," Katniss pointed to the coffee shop across the street, "let's go there. Twenty minutes at most, I have a meeting to attend."

It was just past noon, and the coffee shop wasn't crowded, very quiet.

Katniss gently stirred her coffee with a small spoon, waiting for Eudora to speak.

Whether she hadn't thought it through or didn't know where to start, Eudora remained silent.

Until Katniss said, "It's been almost ten minutes."

"Have you reconciled with Tristan?" Eudora hadn't seen Tristan recently, but she had heard about his car accident.

Although it was kept very secret, her intuition told her that Tristan's car accident was related to Katniss.

Katniss took a sip of coffee, the fine milky bubbles clinging to the edge of her lips. She took a napkin and wiped it off.

"What does that have to do with you?"

Eudora said without hesitation, "Of course it has to do with me. Do you know that I've lived my whole life for Tristan!"

Her emotions became agitated, her hands on the table clenched tightly, "I know you think some of the things I've done are excessive, but you haven't lived my life. Do you know what I've been through? Shortly after I arrived at the Forbes family, they removed my uterus, taking away my right to be a mother!"

"They kept instilling in me the idea that I was Tristan's wife. This idea has become a deeply ingrained mission in my heart! Without Tristan, my ultimate fate would be unimaginable to you!"

She was emotionally agitated, and her voice grew louder.

People around them started to look over, and Katniss had to remind her, "Miss Savoy, do you intend to speak just to me, or do you want everyone to hear?"

Eudora turned her head and saw many curious glances directed at her. She calmed her emotions, "Sorry, I lost control."

"It's okay." Katniss put down her coffee cup and took a deep breath, "Are you done talking?"

She subtly hinted that she would leave once Eudora finished.

"Don't you have anything to say?" Eudora retorted, "Don't you think you ruined me?"

Katniss looked at her calmly, "The ones who ruined you were Travis and Ivy. You're just trying to use your forced situation to gain our sympathy. In reality, your desire to marry Tristan wasn't entirely their doing; you had your own selfish motives. I believe you love Tristan, and if you married him, you would definitely help him fight against Travis and Ivy. But that doesn't mean I will tolerate you slandering me."

Hearing Eudora mention her uterus being removed, Katniss was shocked.

Perhaps Travis wanted to ensure Tristan had no offspring, and undoubtedly, this action caused immense harm to Eudora.

And Eudora had always used this to gain Tristan's sympathy, thinking that even if Tristan didn't love her, he should be responsible for her.

"Then why did you sit down to listen to me?" Eudora was furious, "Do you want to see how pitiful I am? Do you want to mock me?"

"Given the current situation, I won. I can't deny you the chance to vent your emotions and complain. Otherwise, I would be too heartless. Even if you curse me today, I will endure it to let you blow off some steam. But I can't stand you portraying me as a saint, expecting me to forgive your past and give Tristan back to you."

Katniss leaned back on the sofa, looking quite indifferent about today's conversation, "So you understand my stance. No matter what you plan to do in the future, even if you want to fight for Tristan, I will be there. But anything else is off the table."

With that, she picked up her bag and prepared to leave.

"Wait." Eudora instinctively stood up, but when she saw Katniss's expressionless profile, she swallowed her words.

But as Katniss stood up, she asked, "Is there anything else?"

"I... How is Aaron doing recently? Is he adjusting to high school life? He's about to be a junior, right? Is his study load heavy? Can you find time for him to have a meal with me?"

Eudora had contacted Aaron a few times, but for some reason, they had a fight, and then they blocked each other's contact information.

Katniss paused as she slung her bag over her shoulder, "I'll pass the message along and have him contact you. By the way, I have some good news for you. He's no longer in high school. He's a once-in-a-century genius and skipped two grades to get into TomorrowTech University."

"What?" Eudora's heart trembled with mixed emotions, "He got into TomorrowTech University? What was his score?"

"I didn't ask for the exact score, but it was more than enough for TomorrowTech University," Katniss said. "You can ask him the rest yourself."

With that, she left.

Eudora sat back down, leaning against the back of the sofa. If his score far exceeded TomorrowTech University's requirements, it would qualify him for studying abroad!

Being sent abroad at such a young age would attract a lot of attention. If he went into business, he would be a rare talent in the future business world.

But why didn't Aaron go abroad? No, she had to see Aaron.

As she was thinking, she suddenly received a call from Ivy. She hesitated for a few seconds before answering.

"Mrs. Forbes, how is Mr. Forbes's preparation for the funding?"

Ivy sighed, "It's not that easy. Recently, he's mortgaged all his properties, but he refuses to bow to Sam's biological father. Men always need their dignity."

Sam wasn't Travis's biological son, and Sam's biological father had a significant background.

But Eudora didn't know the specifics. She only knew that Ivy had once confidently said that Sam's father was their biggest support.

Because of this, Eudora, who was originally sent by Travis to sleep with others, always managed to escape with Ivy's help.

Ivy wanted to force Travis to bow to Sam's biological father.

"Where have you been? You weren't taken away by Travis again, were you?" Ivy couldn't help but call after not seeing her for a while.

Eudora quickly denied, "No, I happened to run into Katniss and chatted for a bit. I'm heading back now."

"Her? She's quite impressive now. You must become as impressive as her in the future, stabilize Synergy Global Corporation, and make it bigger. Then let Sam take over."

Ivy was calculating.

Eudora felt a wave of sadness. So what? Everything she worked hard for was for Sam. Why?

She felt unwilling, but she agreed, "Understood, Mrs. Forbes."

In the evening, Katniss returned home. As soon as she entered, Aaron came running over with Evie in his arms, "Katniss, Tristan really surprised me!"
